    Just a little FYI...

Minute Maid Light Cherry Limeade is not!
  2. My insurance had the same requirement but I was able to bypass it. Luckily, I've had the same PCP for 20 years and he had already seen my numerous attempts.

    You learn something new everyday!

Thanks, NJ. I got to spend the day last Friday at the beach with the little light of my life. I love that picture, even if it does show all my wrinkles! LOL. My last fill was the middle of April. It put me up to 5.8cc. Honestly, I think this is the first time in 3 years that I really feel like I'm in my sweet spot. As for secrets...there are none. Pardon me while I quote Colin Powell: “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” I happen to know that you came into this well prepared. You really did do your homework before your surgery. I'm also sure that you are up for the challenge. And let's face it....every one of us has years of failure to draw from. Otherwise we wouldn't be here.

    Down a Size:)

There's nothing better than smaller clothes! WTG!!

    Struggling

Is that a pre-op diet? Sounds crazy that that's all you are allowed. If you could drink coffee the caffeine would help with the headaches. Clear broth or protein shakes would help you not be so tired and grouchy. I guess the best thing you can do is keep yourself busy and your mind occupied so you aren't dwelling on it. Maybe try some liquid vitamins too.

    A reflection of a year!

Thank you. Yes, he is adorable and he's the love of my life!!
  7. Yes, it definitely gets looser as you lose weight. There is fat in the area and as it goes away the band loosens. I have a 10cc band as well but am currently in my sweet spot with 5.8cc in it. I am also about 15 pounds from goal so I'm confident that I'll never get close to capacity. I doubt that you will either. You still have 2cc to play with. That's alot.
  8. I just watched your you tube video. All I can say is I'm glad he isn't my doctor!!! Does he think your a pin cushion? My doctor has NEVER had trouble finding my port...even when I was at my largest. One thing I noticed is that you were laying flat. My doctor always has me lift my feet up a little which causes the ab muscles to contract making it easier for him to access the port. I'm actually surprised that he allowed you to video tape considering what a quack he appears to be. I'm really sorry that you have had the problems that you have. I hope you are able to find a good doctor that can help you get your health problems in order. You really can't keep going the way you are. You look great, by the way, but you need to be healthy too. Good luck! Cindy

Do periods really affect weight loss?

My period never affected my weight loss but, boy, did my weight loss affect my periods!! They got so screwed up that I ended up having to have Endometrial Ablation to get them to stop. I haven't had one now for over 2 years.

    Throwing up at work

That's why I make it a rule to NEVER eat at work! I just take protein shakes with me.

    You learn something new everyday!

Thanks, Cat. With the small amount you have to lose and the good start you have, I'm sure you'll be at goal before you know it!

Really? I'll have to feel around for it!

    Crazy NSV

    LMAO. Too funny!!!
  16. This weekend I went out and hit some garage sales looking for things for my son's new apartment. I saw this very cute denim skirt. It was a size 10. Knowing that I could never wear it I bought it for my daughter....it was only a quarter. I brought it home and, just for $hits and giggles I thought I would try it on and see how close I was to it fitting. I just went from 14 to 12 a couple weeks ago...in fact some 12's still don't fit. Well guess what? That's right...THE DARN THING FIT! Seriously???? Me!?? A 10???? Me who was a 28 just 3 years ago???? Sorry, Kid. Mom's keeping this one!!

    Help! I was stupid!

Eventually, it will fall through. It will hurt like heck until it does tho. In the future, if you really want bread, toast it first. It goes down much easier that way. I stay away from all things white...bread, pasta, rice....Life is much easier that way!

Would you do the Lap Band Surgery again?

Without a doubt, I would do it again!
  19. Excellent comparison! Good luck on both of your new journeys. I'm sure you will make them successful!

    Consultation

Wow, really? I can maybe see it if you were over 500 pounds but you're only 273 pounds! That's nuts. I would look for a different doctor.
  21. OMG, that's crazy! They did a pregnancy test at the hospital before surgery and it was negative? Are you sure on the math? Get yourself to both doctors immediately. I hope everything turns out well for you. G_d works in mysterious ways! Congrats!

    Liquids before fill?

That depends on your doctor. Some doctors have a prefill diet. Mine does not. I can eat anything I want before a fill. Just have to stay on liquids 12-24 hours after.
  23. I had to do 4 weeks of liquids post op. 2 weeks clear followed by 2 weeks full. I honestly had no problem with it. The worst thing about it was the horrible taste in my mouth and the bad breath that I'm sure accompanied it.
  24. And don't forget to throw some ankle weights on under your jeans!
  25. ^What she said! If your coworker were to do damage you would be S.O.L., possibly for the rest of your life. Don't let some untrained, inexperienced person do what chiropractors spend 7 years learning.
