Are cream soups full liquids or mushies?!
Cindy C replied to faz1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Full liquids. Just make sure there are no chunks. Chunk-free yogurt is also a full liquid. -
Taco Bell burritos are really a good choice if you're going to eat fast food. You didn't say which one you had but the worst one on the menu has 540 calories and 26 grams of fat. All of them are high in protein and fiber. Quit kicking yourself. Life happens and sometimes you have to eat things you wouldn't normally. It's OK. I went to Taco Bell for lunch today, too. I had pintos and cheese. 170 calories, 6 grams of fat and 9 grams of protein!

Is Early Twenties too young for the lapband?
Cindy C replied to PumpkinPanda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think that the lap band is a wise choice for any one who struggles with their weight. -
New Here!! excited to meet others on their journey
Cindy C replied to melissa0414's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Melissa. Welcome and congrats on the start of your journey. Tish is right, concentrate on healing, follow the process and watch the weight fall off. Enjoy the journey. There's nothing like it. My son is attending college near you. He's a senior at Lindenwood. If you happen to see him, tell him his mother says get away from the girls and go do your homework! LOL! -
WILL INSURANCE PAY IF YOU WANT BAND REMOVED?
Cindy C replied to KaylaM's topic in Insurance & Financing
If there isn't a medical reason then probably not. -

Cindy C replied to changing4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
23 pounds the first month? That's 2 pounds shy of 10% of your total body weight! You are doing exceptionally well. Congrats! -
11 Days Post Op and not losing....HELP!!
Cindy C replied to NY Bandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes some of us have had amazing weight loss but it wasn't easy. It was a long difficult road. I literally and figuratively worked my ass off. You've lost 6 pounds in 11 days. During the same period, I lost about 15 but lets put that in perspective...I had a starting weight of 135 pounds more than you. I had so much more to lose. My 15 was about 4% of my total weight. Your 6 pounds is about 3% of your total weight. So really, you're doing very well. Just keep following the process, relax and enjoy the journey. It really is amazing! -
Personally, I would take the ER doctor's opinion with a grain of salt. He's trained in treating emergencies and probably has no idea about anything lap-band related. The band IS at the base of the esophagus where it meets the stomach. I'm sure yours is right where it should be. Listen to your surgeon. He's the one with the expertise. I hope he's able to figure out what the problem is and can correct it for you so you can continue on your journey. BTW..I can't believe you passed on a chance to swing with the bouncer! What were you thinking? LOL!!!!!!!

Cindy C replied to NY Bandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
11 days post op is not about losing weight. It's about healing. Just relax and follow the process. The weight will come off when it's time! -
Is your band not working or is it you?
Cindy C replied to YngGram's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well said, Rachel. Too bad they can't figure out how to put the band around our brains instead of our stomachs! -
Do U use Lap band ID for Kiddie/Sr/Smaller meals
Cindy C replied to stratcat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find that it's easier to go out than to cook. I always bring home leftovers but then I don't usually eat them. I just cleaned out the fridge and threw away enough to feed a small army! There was Greek, Mexican, Chinese and German. I probably could have bought a new pair of jeans with what I spent on what I didn't eat! -

You looked good and you knew it. That's not conceit...it's just pointing out the obvious! Good job. Keep it up!

I with a few things but mostly don't bother. If you compare labels you will see that if they reduce one thing, the increase something else so the product will taste better. Sugar free items usually have more fat or sodium etc.

I've lost almost 150 pounds. I'm 5'9" and size 12. If I stand naked in front of a mirror I don't see the collar bones, ribs and hip bones that are all protruding through my skin. I see every ounce of fat on my body. I can totally understand the mindset of anorexics. We really don't see what everyone else does when it comes to our bodies.

"Al's plumbing and lapband." Now that's funny!

I don't know how, but I DID IT--passed up pizza & breadsticks!
Cindy C replied to Bertie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amazing how the band changes us. Pizza was one of my biggest downfalls. Now when I look at it all I see is the pbing episode its bound to cause!
