  1. Happy 44th Birthday hay4943!

  2. Happy 43rd Birthday hay4943!

  3. I am researching the Lapband, and have posted a few times, and everyone has been so nice and encouraging.. I am in the process of researching doing the lapband, I have been to a seminar, went to my dr, who is requiring me to go to a dietician before she will refer me to the lapband surgeon.. I weight 245lbs and seem to be out of control latley.. I haven't been exercising like I normally do and seem to be eating everything I am not supposed to..I see the dietician for the first time this week, so maybe she can get me under control.. My worry is if I get the band, what makes me think I can stay under control and not slip and eat bad things.. I don't have will power now, what makes me think I will have willpower after the band.. I am worried about alot of things related to the band, but that is the main thing.. what if this fails too!

    Airplane Seats

Hi.. I have posted here a few times, doing research on Lapband.. but have a off the topic question.. I am leaving for Florida in June, and am scared to death that I won't fit in the darn airplane seat:think I weigh 245, i will be so embarrassed if the seatbelt won't fit, I am even considering not going! .. anyone have that happen?
  6. What will it accomplish? It may help the patient lose weight. In the U.S. study, the average weight loss was 36% of a patient’s excess weight three years after the device was implanted. More than half of the patients lost at least 25% of their excess weight; some patients lost over 75%, but some lost no weight. I got this statement from the FDA website about lapband and when they approved it... I am in the process of researching doing the band.. i weigh 245 and would like to lose 80-100 pounds. the thing that concerns me is what it says the average weight loss is.. 36% of excess weight?? so 100 pounds of extra weight and losing 36% of it you only lose 36 pound? I know that its a study and just an average, but wow.. and then it says some lose no weight!!..:bananadoggywow:
  7. ok thanks guys... I have an appointment next week with family doctor to get referrel, then to surgeon hopefully soon, i have been to a seminar , but of course they don't really concentrate on the problems that could happen. I am really thinking I will do it as long as insurance approves the procedure.
  8. HI.. I am considering LapBand surgery, and after reading some of the topics like "Erosian", or Slipped Band, having to have band removed.. ect.. I am hesitant to even go see the surgeon.. any thoughts on that? Sara 245/would love to lose 80-100
