    $82, 000 LapBand Bill

OMG....yeah he's totally trying to rip off your insurance...and even with 2 days at a hospital that does not add up 80,000 + dollars.....Example- my son who was born 2 months premature lived in NICU for 1 MONTH! his statement of charges was 89,000 dollars....thats understandable....a lap band, slight bleeding,2 days in a hospital....I think not. I have to say the more I deal with doctors the more I have a complete distain for them....dishonest,unethical,Greedy arrogant and the biggest BS'ERS:cursing: The whole lot of them should be taught a lesson...I take nothing a doctor tells me a face value....I defy any doctor to look his nose down on me and expect to roll over and take it as though they were the end all and be all of opinons. :embaressed_smile:OOPS...didn't mean to go on a rant:embaressed_smile: I would defintly report it what are they gonna do take away your BAND??

    Fitday.com

O.K. sooooo I 've tried both now fit day is way more user friendly but DP's food choices is better ,maybe theres just a learning curve to using it...I do get confused often:wink_smile: seemed DP would be better in the long run but i'm lazy and fit day was easier.......are there any others??

    Fitday.com

I like fitday I just used it today...ditto about name brand food I had to customize a lot of food but I like the set up...oh and you can't go back in time with your weight it starts you the day you sign up. I'm gonna go try daily plate next:wink_smile:
  8. I will say ...that if you and your doctor think this will work to get you to goal great....but you will have to eat real food eventually...the thought of going back to medifast has crossed my mind too. Simply because its easy I HATE making food:wink_smile: I know that learning to eat is something I need to practice in order to keep me healthy even after I reach goal. Now saying that.... The tone and attitude that came across on Jodie's posts was completly unaccepptable... and when someone is feeling frustrated with their wieght loss, has a question about a technique that might work or has worked. It is not O.K. to beat them up about it or make them feel guilty because she may or maynot know as much information as you clearly do......It's not really what you said persay but HOW. HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR!
  9. Thank you...I'm feeling pretty good two weeks out...It helps if your husband picks up the slack... I really couldn't pick up the baby except very short distances..like to change him for the first week and even then it was a bit much...Now its not so bad but abot 10 minutes is max holding him while standing....I doubt that you'll be able to pick up your littlest one ...mine only weighs about 16 pounds and that wears me out. Feel free to ask me ANY questions.

    Surgery done!

I'm almost 2weeks out and I have 4 children the youngest is 10 months old It took about 3 days before I could pick him up out of the crib to the changing table but that was it!!!! Or I felt to dizzy and worn out...now I can get him and hold him fairly easy but it wears me out if I hold him longer than 10 minutes and I start to hurt......But youll work around it and everyday I feel better and stronger just don't push to hard or you'll be down for the count I learned that the hard way!!

    Surgery Prep?

YEAHHHH....NO:confused_smile: Now I know every doctor is different but thats definitly one of the weirdest preops I've heard of...I personally did not have to do anything but take antibiotics the day before BUT....I have to give myself heprin shots for 2 weeks after surgery, which I havn't heard of from other people....I realy think these doctors can get wacky sometimes ......as for the enema..does he think your your gonna poop on his table or something???? Cause I'm pretty sure nobody here has pooped during surgery:lol: Like I said though every doctors different. But good luck it will be over before you know it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one....Low carb works for me!!!It keeps my sugar cravings at bay and keeps me from binging . and I feel like I just don't want to mess with it. I did scrambled egg last night for dinner may be i'll just stick to that for this week....we shall see:blush:

I was banded on the 4th  the first couple of days were rough but today I really don't have much pain I feel pretty good....although I will say that for some reason I'm having some twinges of guilt about starting the mushies phase tomorrow ...I know its tarded but I'm worried that starting back on carbs that I'm not going to be as successful ( as the last three weeks have been) at losing weight. Anyone else had thoughts like this???
  15. ummmm you are cheating.....if your doctor told you not to eat more than 1/4 cup then thats what you should be eating or you'll stretch your pouch......follow your doctors directions:glare:
  16. I also was banded 12/4 i'm a little sore everywhere not too bad but.......when I get up a move around or drink I get get this feeling in my chest like something is tighting i almost can't breath but it comes and goes quikley is it the band??

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

Well got banded last thursday ..the forth:thumbup: And I would have to say the whole thing hasn't been that bad. I personally found the 2 week shake thing easy ..but then I have four children so it made eating quik and simple. Waking up after surgery totally sucked and I dry heaved a little but after that I was ready to get home..I'm just alittle sore now but the meds help...I do keep have weird sensations though just under my breast bone Ii feels like something tightning and then it goes away:wink2: But liked I said its not that bad!

  20. Mine said something similar..when I told him my surgery date and time he said " you mean I have to pick you up AND pick up the kids from school???? " Good lord...I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything near as assinine when he had his hernia's repaired Some times they just don't get it.
  21. Ok sooo I'm really excited I went to my pre-op appt yesterday did all the last minute testing for my surgery on Dec. 4th ...told me to start the liquid diet, filled out paperworkmet with the doctor again THEN... a girl came in to give me all of prescriptions for antibiotics and pain meds and informed me of ONE more prescription for 2 WEEKS of Heprin shots that I am to give to MYSELF!!!! after surgery!!!WTF.......I've spoken to a lot of people, no one ever said anything about this??? The girl said I took the news better than most people but I'm wondering what the purpose of doing it for so long??..........I don't even have ANY comorbitity's (SP?) I'M just FAT!! Anyone else have to do this??? This sucks!
  22. V-Queen

    Heprin shots???

Yeah I get that its to prevent blood clots....I guess its that the office never informed me before hand..I've had surgery before and yes you get a shot at the time of surgery I just wasn't expecting to have to give my self shots for two weeks...I hadn't heard of this before..I mean it dosn't bother me to do it my self it just seemed a bit excessive. oh well........it will all be worth it:thumbup:

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

I got my surgery date today!!! December 4th :Dancing_wub: I'm soooo excited it seems like I've to wait forever..Me and the hubby finally scraped up the money to prepay Dr.Debarros scince he's out of network with BCBS.... but he's sooo worth it! God has blessed my life in so many way's ....I was starting to get a little worried because as of January my BCBS plan will no longer cover any WLS . So I'm gettin in just in the nick of time :Dancing_sorry:
  24. Well I got approved about a week ago....its only about a month since my first visit with Dr.Debarros at WLIAZ everything has gone soooo FAST!!! !!!!! ITS AWESOME !!!!!!! I have to say I also made sure I had all my records and even tracked down the Medifast clinic I tried a year ago and got the records from them too before they submitted to Blue Cross/Blue Shield!!! I weigh 240 pounds right now I don't have any medical issues yet.....I can't wait to lose weight!
  25. I got approved about two weeks ago!! BCBS is so great..it only took a week to get approved....BUT I don't have a date yet since Dr. Debarros is out of network I have to pay 4,000 dollars upfront before he will do the surgery and then BCBS will repay me after:glare: Sooo that kinda sucks but whatever...I'll have the money very shortly and as soon as I pay ..I'll be banded.:thumbup:I'm starting the preop diet November 1st..i'm using the X-Rated protein powder from HI-Health and they said I could have as many shakes a day as I need..I could'nt imagine only having 2 shakes and a microwave meal a day I'D STARVE!!
