Wish i lived near you. i think a support group is a great idea. jillia:thumbup: -
I was banded two years ago this May. I am very happy with my lapband. I have lost 65 pounds. I went from a size 20 to a size 12. Life is good. I love trying on clothes in the morning now. They actually fit! I have no high blood pressure= no medication. I have low cholesterol now, so no medication. My sleep apnea has improved. My feet no longer swell. I am more active. It's the best thing i've ever done for myself.:crying:

I had lapband surgery at Port Huron and I am quite satisfied. I do have a 4 hour drive there and 4 hour drive back. I live in Oscoda. It's quite a way, but I am confident that Dr. Bhesania is the best. I've lost over 50 pounds now since last June. jillia

Hello! I'm from Oscoda, Michigan and I had my lap band surgery at the Port Huron Hospital. I travel four hours (one way) for fills, and I was wondering if any other bandsters would be interested in car pooling to Port Huron? please email if you're interested: dorceyj@alpenacc.edu thanks. Happy losing!

Dear Northeast Michigan lap banders: Anyone from Tawas, Oscoda, AuGres, Michigan traveling to Port Huron for lap band? I live in Oscoda, Michigan and had my lap band surgery at Port Huron Hospital. It's a four hour drive (one way) for fills. I'd like to arrange to car pool with some other lap banders that live nearby. I know there are several coming from the Tawas area. My doctor told me. If so, please email me at dorceyj@alpenacc.edu Thanks and Keep on losing!

I was just reading a post where the individual stated that he/she threw up all healthy food and was not able to eat vegetables. i'm still on the full liquid diet since i'm three weeks post-op. i feel great now, but i am worried about eating solids when i am able. how do most people do with solids? curious...:faint:

Hi. I went to dinner with our good friends at their home last week. they know i had lap band surgery and that i'm on a full liquid diet. i sat and ate my jello and drank ice tea while they ate their regular meal. no problem. but, then the host passed brownies right in front of my face to the others. i think it was mean. what do you think? or am i too sensitive?

Hi! My surgery date is June 8, 2006. I feel the same way that you feel. I am going to look at it positively. i will be successful! i want to live longer to see my children have their children. with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea (three co-morbidities), i won't live that long unless i have the lap band surgery. both my parents died of heart disease. so, it's a necessity. look forward to it. i think being anxious is part of it. i know i am, but it will all pass. look forward to it. good luck. i'm sure you'll be fine. jillia

Yes, plantar facisits is really painful! Arch supports really help, but i found that my podiatrist gave me exercises to do which really helped a lot! Ask your doctor for some exercises. they are simple to do and really help a lot. and yes, no bare feet. i found birkenstocks for sandals are ok after your plantar facisits (sp) has calmed down. most of the time, arch supports are needed in your tennis shoes. good support shoes are a must, i have found. you could swim or ride a bike until the plantar facisitis improves!
