    Eating Normal/Why???

You have described exactly what I am going through and now that I have read the other "replies" who have already had their first fill (I haven't) I am even more worried. For the first few weeks after the surgery I was very, very careful because I was afraid I would throw up or get food stuck. Then little by little I found I could eat almost anything without problems. I knew before the surgery that I would have to be responsible for my weight loss-that the band was not going to do all the work-but I didn't think I would be this hungry! How is it after you have had a second fill? In fact, how many fills do we get approximately? Those of you who have success stories please include your height and gender. For instance, I am 5'4"-female-so my calorie intake is different than a man's or a taller woman.

    Daily Calories

Thank you for posting that question because I have been wondering the same thing. My surgery was on 9/10 and I lost 13 pounds by 10/17 but have now gained 3 back. The dietitian told us not to count calories yet but if I followed their instructions and had only 3 Optifast HP per day (to begin) that was only 600 calories and I got headaches and hypoglycemia so I have since raised the calories to 1000-1200. I was still loosing at 1000 but I had a couple of days last week when I was so hungry I ate so many calories I stopped counting-thus the weight gain. I really need a little more direction even though I know I should be able to figure it out with the information I have. I had to cancel my first appointment for a fill and couldn't get another one until Nov. 4 so I am concerned that I am going to be hungry until then.
  6. :sad:It has been 6 weeks since my surgery and I am still getting daily and frequent headaches and have not slept through the night. I use Excedrin Migraine which usually works and if not then I use a prescribed Migraine medication. The worst part is that the headaches are waking me up at night. Anyone else have that problem? I haven't had a complete nights sleep since the surgery! If I take a prescribed sleeping pill I still wake up at 2-3 in the am and can't get back to sleep!! I did use the prescribed pain killer when I came home from the hospital but I have been out of that for at least 3 weeks.
