  2. Glad your going to see the Dr., he should know whats wrong. About the swelling from a fill. He's wright about the cold. It causes the muscles around the band to cuntract. (HOPE I SPELLED THAT WRIGHT.) Hot is not good either. Tap Water Temp, or even lukewarm is fine. But you have to stay on that for about 3 days. Otherwise if you eat something, you could swell back up. This is good info for the future. 3days of Liquid, 1 day of Mushies, then you can try food. Wish you Good Health, Shirley.

  4. I tell you what !!!!! You better hope you weren't banded and swallowed that gum. Or you would be going in for surgery,, all over again. Were not allowed to chew gum where I had my surgery at, all, he explained why. How would you get it up if it went down?? Give it a thought,,,, do yourself a favor and give up the GUM.
  5. That depends on the size of your band, and if you like it lose or tight or in between. As far as the sizes someone else will have to answer that. I have a 4cc band, there are bigger ones. They hold cc's of saline to make it work. Wright now I am at 2.75cc's, but I feel a little to tight. My Allergies are also causing problems. so I might go in and go down to 2.50 or 2.60. I'm good with restriction, so I really barely get hungry. Which is great to me, because I forever felt like I was starving. Now no way. Good Luck on your search.

    Calling all 10/2006 bandsters...

    Nice to hear from you ! It's hard to find some of the older ones you know. They thought they blew my band and it didn't, but he emptied me anyway. I regained almost all of it back, and finally found a new surgeon. He sent me out for fluoroscopy, and there was nothing wrong ! Was I pissed.... So they filled me, and I am starting from scratch. But this time I am going to get there. Almost did last time, so I know it's possible. Some of us our here, keep in touch Shirley.
  7. I just want you to know that I actually understand what your talking about, and life this way is not livein at aii. I gained almost all mine back, maybe 15 lbs.. Mine was because of a screwed up surgeon when it comes to aftercare. He told me it was blown, and there wasn't a damn thing wrong with it. He emptied me, and I thought I was never going to get fixed, So I got a new surgeon, and they said we will do fluoroscope (ONLY WAY TO GO) They can tell were your fill line is. One fill, and I was set. So now I am back to the basics eating around 1200 calories or less a day, That is helping the weight come off. I did 1200 calories for 1 year prior to the band, and lost 120lbs. So you know what you need to do, You already joined a Gym, now do the calorie counting, Protein, and Vitamins. Then be patient, and when you can go in for fluoroscopy, you will realise that it was well worth the Wait. Also keep a journal on your intake. Go to myfitnesspal.com it's free, and you can even record your workout, and it will tell you how you are doing. Same with the food, and it stores everything in memory. Has a nice chat site. I'm losingintime on that site. Look me up, We could help each other, since we understand what we been through. So get back on track, it's really that easy.

    Also in time, you will find some foods that you can no longer swallow (POSSIBLEY) Like I can't eat bread, and I know it. So I just don't bother with it. I don't miss it at all though. Knowing that I won't get stuck, if I don't eat it. I stick to moist foods or foods that I can dip in a sauce. If you don't chew your food really good, anyone can get stuck, So I stick to moist food, and make sure I chew it down to nothing. That way I don't have to worry about getting stuck.

    Are you taking any Vitamins? We are all put on FLINTSTONES COMPLETE with CHOLINE. I do about 4 a day, it keeps me peppy. I have tried Costcos with the choline, and no comparison. I still felt BLAGH. They are in a orange box must say CHOLINE on the front of box. You can go online for coupons for Flintstones vitamins, and get coupons that will work for this one. When I get hungry on the side,,, I chew 4 of them, and I get my vitamins plus I kill the hunger. you can google choline, and read about it. Hope you feel better.
  16. Try my fitnesspal.com (IF YOU WANT) Also it's free. You will log in all your info that it asks you, and then will tell you your calorie intake. (I KNOW YOU SAID YOU STOPPED COUNTING CALORIES) You would type in your food, and it will tell you your calories and Protein for the day. Then include your exercise, and t will tell you what your burning off.. All the foods are stored in memory, so it's easy to locate them, check a box, and hit enter. Otherwise you do a search and click on it, then it's stored. You will see what your eating a day. It's a good thing. Shirley.

    I agree with the person above. My Husband is on 3 different kind of Blood Pressure Pills. The point is to keep all Blood Pressure DOWN. So for someone on a lot of meds. I don't see it as possible. He should talk to his Dr. and see if in his opinion,,,,,, if he were to have the WLS, would he be able to get off of the Meds. If he says yes, and that is what he wants in life, then go for it. Plus he will only be healthier.
  19. Just remember It is a S L O W go. 1 to 2lbs a week is the norm. But you can get stuck at the scale, and you might be losing inches. Sometimes we just sit in Limbo for a while until the body jump starts again. Hang in there, Your doing Fine as long as your not gaining... :party:
  20. You should be measuring, and weighing your food, and recording your calories, either on paper or myfitnesspal.com is free, and I see a lot of people belong there including me. I stay between 800-1200 calories a day, and 60-80G of Protein a day. If you do this, and practice putting the fork down while you are chewing, and Waite about 30 seconds until you take another small bite, and chew, chew, chew. You won't have to worry about stretching your pouch. That comes from stuffing yourself to much, and that's not what this band is all about. So until you get filled,,,, you might as well practice the wright way of doing this. Otherwise if your eating habits are poor, you are going to be stuck, and learning will be a little harder with a fill. This way if you make a small mistake, you won't be stuck. This is up to you, but it is a good thought. Shirley.

  22. Try about 3 1/2 days liquid only !, then a day of mushies, then try food. If no luck then go in. If it's only swelling,,, it should go down.

    Here's a good one: Take a large container of cottage cheese, 8oz. cool whip, can of crushed pineapple, 1 small box of Jello. Pour the jello in a bowel NO Water ! add the cool whip to the dry jello, and stir until blended then add in the cottage cheese, stir until blended add the drained crushed pineapple, blend in. chill overnight. OMG what a great tasting salad. It's a FLUFF.
