help, something is not right
54Shirley replied to kieras's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Drink warm Water (not COLD), it will either go down or come up. Hopefully go down. Once you feel it go threw, keep drinking a glass or two just to make sure your clear. Now what ever you do do not eat,,, your to swollen ! So stay on liquids for 3 days, then mushies for a day, then try food. You might think about a fill to kill your hunger. How long since you had one? Or is it Head Hunger? You know what it is,,,,, your not a newbie. So you need to deal with your problem. That is my surgeon's recipe for being stuck, and it works ! Even if 2 days go by, and you think your fine. don't eat ! You could swell rite back up. Hope you feel better, Shirley. -

If You got it Flaunt it ! There is nothing wrong with success. You got banded for a reason, and it's paying off in Dividends. I know your feeling, but I have further to go. I'm only 5'3" so, I can't Waite for a year to go by. Congrats ! ! ! :tea: and Good Health to you, Shirley. :second: -
They have some really good cremes that are rated #1. That's what I used, up untill I had replacements. The aid even rubbed my knees for me when I had my LapBand done. She asked if this stuff really worked? I said yes ! So she wanted to know if she could write the name down for her Girlfriend, who has it in her back. I said be my guest. So I hope it worked for her,,

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
54Shirley replied to disneymom1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you seen your surgeon lately.... That is a start, maybe they can figure it out. -
I''m talking about a 1.65Lb Jug. That is powder, and you mix with Water. If you want to see some flavors. Go to ebay and type in MUSCLE MILK LIGHT. The Protein Bars, and liquid form will pop up also. check out the jugs, and find one that has like a little box on the screen, that means multiple flavors. Take a look around, and see what you find. Just for knowing.

Has anyone had Pouch Dilation before?
54Shirley replied to kentx05's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With the calories in ice cream.... I'm sure it will mess up your weight loss. I can't answer for the part. Good Luck though, Shirley -
If it was a stuck episode, Its fluids for 3 days, then mushies for a day, then try food. That usually works. But if you eat food before that, you could swell back up. Shirley.

A lot of us are on artificial nutrients. That's what this is for.

Pick up there Cookies n creme, strawberry milkshake, chocolate Peanut Butter, chocolate milk, and vanilla creme. All in MUSCLE MILK LIGHT. There chocolate is lousy, but this,,, will keep you from being bored. It's good stuff and low in calories to. 195 cal. 25 G Protein. I drink this stuff every day, and my stock is running low, so I need to buy some also. If you see a good deal let me know. Right now, Amason.com has the best price I can find. Good Luck, Shirley.

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
54Shirley replied to disneymom1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did they check it at all under Fluoroscopy? That will tell everything. There is a possibility that you are sensitive, or maybe still swollen. Because when your empty, that band is very sloppy, and anything can get hung up on it. Stay on liquids for 3 days, then slowly try mushies. Even if you have to eat standing up, so it goes straight down, and doesn't get hung up. If it gets a little hung up, slowly swallow some warm Water to rinse it down. If you keep getting hung up, and keep chasing it with warm water and it works. Then you know it's because your deflated. I know,,,, I been there. -
My surgeon thought he blew my Band, so he deflated me completely. I have been deflated for 3 yrs... Finally have a surgeon to help me (HIS STUDENT) after moving. He sends me in for Fluoroscopy, and there is nothing wrong with the Band ????? So they filled me to my fill line, and I am starting over. Just keep journaling your calories, and keep them where you like them. Regardless... Then you will do fine.

Well I'm glad to see your in onederland ! That's Great ! I understand how you feel. I chose to spread the good news, and got nothing but insults for it. Don't you have any willpower, can't you do it on your own etc The list goes on, but not one person said... I wish you look or something positive. I guess you learned though. If you want to keep it a secret, don't tell anyone. Otherwise blah ,blah, blah., and I'm sure a little more gets added to it. So next time,,,, I wouldn't say a Damn thing. My second time around I have not told anyone except the people on here. It's my business, and if they want to Gossip and say "does it look like she's losing weight?" That's up to them. But it's not my problem. Congrats again, and Good Luck, Shirley.

Has anyone had Pouch Dilation before?
54Shirley replied to kentx05's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well the liquids should go rite threw, So the pouch will get a chance to shrink back. If it works, I hope you learn from this, and stick to your program. You don't want to do this again. Shirley. -
I took NSAIDS for the severe pain of Osteoarthritis of the Knees. (HAVE BOTH BEEN REPLACED.) That was the worst medicine that I was ever on. I didn't know what was causing me to retain Water so bad. A specialist said you take all these, and want more for pain? "Yeah" He said don't take them anymore, there not really helping you. Throw them out. I couldn't believe it. But it was to be done. I hurt like hell, Took some Ibuprofen to help. It took 3 days, and my Kidneys started to work again, I never Peed so much in my life. I lost 30 Lbs. in 30 days... I even slept on the toilette... I was drowning in my own Fluid and no Dr. would believe me except for him. He saved my life ! I have it in my Back and Hands. I use a cream to help the pain. Or pain meds from the Doc. if really bad. Sometimes Ibuprofen, But I will never take those kins of pills again. When they replaced my Knees, The surgeon told me that none of those NSAIDS are any good for you. I believe that. LOOKS LIKE MY FINGERS ARE NEXT FOR REPLACEMENT. But I will take a pain pill first, creme, or ice. I wish you luck. I know what you are going threw. Good Health to you, Shirley.
-
Good Health to You ! I lost 125 lbs. by just eating 1200 calories a day. Every Day... I had a 12 month pre op diet, and that's what I lost. So Good Luck to you, with what you do. You know your always welcome here. Shirley.

What makes a lap band not want to accept food?
54Shirley replied to Greenwood-Lail's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try liquids for 3days, then mushies, then try food. Otherwise you could swell up.. If you do this, and you still can't eat, then you will need a slight unfil. Try this first, then you will know. Shirley. -
Suggestions for chewable vitamins (Calcium, Multi, and Vitamin D
54Shirley replied to Diva01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will have to look that up, because I'm not a memory Genius (WISH I WAS !) It's got to do with Vitamin B12, and some other vitamin. But for me there is no Bruising at all, and I feel Peppy ! So google choline, read a few adds and you should figure something out of it. I know we are all placed on it at my old Bariatric center, for LIFE. So see what's in it for you. One more thing, My DH and I had Blood Work done at the PCP, and my B12 is up, and so is Vitamin D. His is in the Toilette.
