Anything soft, that's not high in calories. Soups, Cold Plate is Great this time of year Tuna Salad, Egg Salad, Cottage Cheese, Cheeses, Hard Boiled Egg That's the cold plate ! Chili, Stew, Anything on the Menu that comes up soft, S.F Desert.... Also pick anything from the above. Be careful with the stew, Potatoes can get stuck. So chew, chew, and chew. Don't lose focus of your chewing, you don't want to get caught up in conversation, and slip something goes down, and your stuck. So Focus.

My Boxer did that to me while I was sleeping. Foot right on the port. I felt the whole thing move inside, I thought for sure that my band slipped down. It's fine... It took a while, scared me something terrible. Hurt a lot. So now she does not come up on my bed at all ! I put up a gate to keep her out.

Thank You Jack! I knew when I first came back to this site, and I saw youre Icon,,, It popped instantley on who that was. So it's still nice talking to you now, like it was then. I lost 20 Lbs. with the band back then. The rest of it was do to 1 year of dieting at 1200 calories. This time, I still do 1200 calories, but it's all band doing the work too. Like you, I am in this for the long haul. If it doesn't give up on me, then I won't give up on it. Thanks for your support, and writing. Shirley.

Well, I lost 145 Lbs or a little more. When my surgeon over filled me, and thought he blew the band.... He wouldn't see me anymore, and swore it was not his problem. He did deflate me though. So by now were talking laid off, no Ins, and no one to dare touch someone else's mistake. So we moved , and I got my Medicare, and I thought now,,, I can go in for Revision Surgery. NO! ONE! would touch me... So I called them up, and they still said it's not our fault. I posted a add on here saying I want this piece of garbage taken out! About 15 minutes later, I get a call.... The Bariatric center that I was trying to deal with says we have a appointment for you, for Fluoroscopy, and maybe a fill, but we have to see what's going on before we do revision surgery. I went, and saw my band which is in excellent shape. They filled me to the fill line, and I have been on a roll again. He never blew the band, he put me in the RED ZONE. So he could have, and should have done something about it. So this poor little thing has been through a lot for almost 5yrs. old, and it works beautifully Problem was only human, BAD AFTER CARE. By the way,,, the surgeon that I now see, was once his student...... He is nothing like him at all. I think he gave him a call to see me, or Coincidence????? What do you think?

Supposedly ! When they started making the newer bands, all the rejects were sent to Mexico, where they are still being used. Now ! If thats true or not ! ! ! I have no idea. Because I was Banded here, and the band works great. If they were banded in Mexico,,, I might here that it was junk, and removed. So just trying to avoid a negative problem. But someone did comment on one of my posts when someone said "I NEVER HEARD OF A 4CC BAND" thats where they said "THEY ARE OBSOLETE , THEY HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THEM, SO THEY SENT ALL THE REJECTS TO MEXICO, AND THEY ARE STILL USING THOSE BANDS ON THE PATIENTS!" So just looking to find people in the states, and get a comment. Again no offense intended at all. So if you are from Mexico, and are doing great,,, Then speak up, and we will see if this theory is true or not.

Go to a E.R.... I don't know if your Doc will touch this. That's why I tell people to get Banded in your state. I know it's cheaper, but is it worth the risk !

If you can't get any satisfaction out of him,,, switch Dr.'s. You already had surgery, your doing what your suppose to, and losing weight... They look for success stories, and a Center of Excellence is a nice way to start. I had a Great Surgeon, but TERRABLE !! After Care.. Now I see a Dr. that was taught by him. "I THOUGHT HERE WE GO AGAIN !" but,, he's not that way. He even told me that My Old Surgeon was a Pain in the @ss ! SO TRUE ! He also said we don't work that way here. So far,,, It's been Great ! In fact I see him Monday for a tweaking.

My surgeon said NO ! Simply because it's fattening. To many unwanted calories.

What we were taught about it at Seminar: They feel better, then they look better, so now the figure they can do better, if they find another. I guess it's got truth to it for some people that I met, at Monthly meetings that were Divorced. But I never went looking...

Sounds better ! Personally I would ask for liquid Antibiotic, but that's up to you! If it's going down, and your fine with that....... That's your business. I would stay on Liquids for a few days, because your still hurting. Popsicles, yogurt, sugar free pudding, Etc... Even try small spoons of cottage cheese, maybe tomorrow. Just thinking about the throat hurting, a little cold might help that. Just don't chill your stomach. The Pepcid is chewable, so if you need it in the future ! Shirley.

I don't worry about what they think ! It's not like they sign my check or something. Some people Drink, Drug. Cheat, ETC. If I want to help myself,,,, that's up to me ! I'm not bothering anyone. I'm just doing what I think is best for me. I wouldn't worry about it to much.

Missing the Protein won't hurt you ! If it was for a month or something, you would start to feel like **** ! I hope you take a chewable Vitamin, this will help keep your vitamin level up ! That's important too.... Call your Dr., and explain with a recent fill, you can't swallow the pills, and ask her to phone in a liquid Antibiotic to your Pharmacy. You don't want to keep throwing up ! Are you sure the nausea is not from the new fill ? If it is,, Pepcid Complete is great for that. It's pricey ! But it works. Otherwise you will have to get something from your Specialist for Nausea. The PCP might not touch that one.. Shirley

Scroll down the Forum until you see your state, click on it. Now you will see cities, search for what area you want, then click on that. Some Dr.'s names should come up including the one you seen. Check them all out, and see if it helps. Look for a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE Seal for him or the Hospital, and of course you want the best ! So chief Surgeon is a good start. I was serious about the whole thing from day 1. I saw a specialist at the UNIVERSITY of MICHIGAN, With the Water retention that I had going on ! It was not good... He told me if I didn't do something about it, that I would Drown in my own fluids. I new this because I could no longer lay down to sleep, the water was coming up into my lungs. I said lets do something about this ! ! He sent me to a Bariatric Specialist, and with my Ins. I had to pre diet 12 months. So he put me on 1200 calories a day Instantly. It came off, and I'm still kickin, But I never had to wonder,,, do I want to start this now? It was instantly.

That is appropriate for him... The Newest thing in WLS to Brag or Joke about. He should go down to Mexico, and order chicken in a Restaurant. Only to find out in months, at the Dr.'s Office that what they served him was CROW! and Yes he would probably end up with a Tapeworm. So clown: Don't worry about drinking the Water ! You need to call your Dr. or go in to the E.R. part of the Hospital that you had surgery in. They will contact him. They will set something up for you, a payment plan. I know you don't want to hear that, but you have to do something. Fluoroscope is not that expensive, and they can see what it is. Either go down and get it, or deflate you. Good Luck with what you do ! Keep us in touch. Prayer does help. I use warm Water and swallow slowly. Swallow after swallow until it goes through or comes up. But you still have to try to keep drinking until you feel clear. You know your condition, but that's what I do.
