O.K.,,,,, my 2 cents only! Join myfitnesspal.com it's free, and it tracks your calories, Protein, exercise, and keeps it in memory. Most of all it's free ! I use it all the time, and i keep a eye on calories, and protein mostly. On the home page you can chat with people from this site, a lot of us are over there, and it is a good thing. I know what your talking about, when it comes to not being able to swallow Water, "THE RED ZONE" I been there too. They looked at mind under Fluoroscope, and filled me to my fill line. I'm fine ! If it's necessary, then maybe your surgeon will consider that, do to your fear. It is SCARY! That will work, another thing is to fill you, and with the needle still in the port, have you sit up, and drink water. He will put in Fluid untill you say stop, or it comes up. Then he will back it off, and you should drink fine. That's another way. So Good Luck on whatever you do, but like I said,,,,, there are ways to get around it. Shirley

It usually takes a few fills before you can tell much of a difference.

You can eat Tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad (BUT NOT DRY! CREAMY) I have a problem like that, and food has to be moist ! Cottage cheese, S.F. pudding, Yogurt etc.. Join up with myfitnesspal.com and you can view what other people are eating, and get ideas. Plus you can log your calorie intake on their, and it will keep it stored in memory. Exercise is kept track of too. Best thing is it's FREE ! You can P M me, and I will tell you how I deal with it. If interested. Shirley.

If there cold ! I don't drink them. If I get a Lemonade, I haven't done that yet. I will slowly sip. Tap Water is fine, it's not to cold. Otherwise it hurts to much for me.

54Shirley replied to MelBanded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I should spread the good word on this thread. I went to my Bariatric Surgeon the other day. I haven't been there for 12 weeks, so a 3 month weigh in, and a Point 1 cc put in this 4cc band. So 2.76 in the band.. I weighed 288 in April, and this time 255. So YAY ! 33 Lbs. gone for good. (IT BETTER NOT COME BACK ! GRRRRR) So just some news for us, and anyone else have any new news? I'd love to hear some. Shirley. -

Wow ! ! ! Add up all those POUNDS that came off. It's quite a bit ! Looks like you are all Happy and doing a Fantastic Job..... Keep up the good work, Shirley. -
I would think they would ! Call the Pharmacy there and ask. Any Pharmacy should carry them. If they sell out, trust me, it's not for the kids LOL They get the Gummi Chewys or whatever, Go on line Google Flintstone Vitamins, and get a coupon for it. Also watch the site, sometimes they are $2,00- $3.00 coupons. At least they use to be ! ! Taste is not bad either. I know I am use to them, but they are not bad. Have Fun Shopping, Shirley.

Remember do 3 or 4 (I WOULD DO 4 FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS BECAUSE YOUR BRUISING.) and let me know in a month how it works. I think you will see a difference before a month. I'm just being safe on my end. Also Google Choline, and see what it is..... Good Health to you, Shirley,.

Google Flintstone Vitamins, and go to there Web site, then print out a coupon, and save some money.
-
Any Pharmacy should have them.

We weigh more then the average person. So instead of 1 or 2, I double it to 4, and it works fine.

i am so tired of explaining to people
54Shirley replied to joleng5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing Great ! Far from Failure.... It's just that when ever they now see you, they expect to see a smaller person. This is not Bypass, it's a slow go. If you have explained all of the stats. to them, and they don't understand ! Then that's their problem... You Owe no explanation to no one ! It's your body, and life.. See what they have to say in 6 months..... -
I chew Flintstones Complete with CHOLINE. They are in a orange box, and the Choline is important. All of us at my clinic are put on these Vitamins Bypass, Band, and Sleeve etc.... I have tried them from Costco's, but they just don't have the kick, that the original, by Flintstones have. I take 4 a day, Every Day ! I have NO sign of Bruising at all, and I feel PEPPY ! If I were to go without them, I would be bruised, and tired. I know what I am talking about... Or I wouldn't say sh*t about it. I been doing these vitamins for 5 yrs.. So I know they work... But you must buy the COMPLETE with CHOLINE, or it won't work.... Again they are in the Orange Box. Try them for about 1 month, then look and see how your bruising is gone. Even my PCP can't believe it, but,,,, she's not a specialist.

When you lose weight, do your feet shrink too?
54Shirley posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went out to by some lace up shoes "TENNIS" well I still call them that. Anyway I went from a 8 1/2W to a 7 1/2M...... That to me was a big difference. There were times that my feet wouldn't fit in that larger size, do to Water retention. So now I have a proper fit in shoes, next will be the cloths ***** YES ! o yes ! I do think your feet will shrink with WL.. :welldoneclap:  -

Inches gone but no weight loss, how can this be?
54Shirley replied to Amanda1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes inches are better then weight...Muscle weighs more then fat. So don't get to discouraged, because the weight will soon follow. one always follows the other. Nice to see you Amanda, -

I to am Hypothyroid. There is a site on here for people like us, because we know it's a harder for the weight to come off. I am on Armour Thyroid for my Medical condition, and it's helping. Does he know all these problems exists with you? Because if he does, anytime that he sees you, and you have weight loss, he should be HAPPY ! If he is a beotch about it, then I would find another Dr...... I found a new Bariatric Surgeon, and the weight is starting to come of..., I went to a good ! Endocrinologist, was diagnosed, and my meds are watched. The two together, with me watching my calorie intake, is letting me lose weight at 1 1/2-2 Lbs a week. Do you have a Endocrinologist? I hope you do. Let him know whats what with your Health and Care. If he is just a pain in the A$$. Then for sure move on.... I will try ti find our site, and send it your way. Good Health to you, Shirley. -

Yes so am I of course, that's why I said if there was a change I would be tested. I thought Ultrasound was still done with Radiation though.. I guess I was misinformed by a tech, , doing a Ultrasound on me for something different. I'm glad to know that ! I'll have to talk to my Dr. and see what her opinion is. Thanks, Shirley. -
