Where Can I Buy Liquid Medicine?
54Shirley replied to jayeedee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand how the RED Flag can go up ! I gave it a shot, and as a seller, and buyer, I do all mine on line, and on ebay. I buy my shakes in flavors on line which I can't get in the store at a nice price, and they have always been fresh with NO problem at all. This includes ebay. I buy all my Vitamins from a dealer on ebay. Thats 200 Flintstones Complete with CHOLINE for $14.00, and he pays the shipping. Never had a problem at all, and if I did it's refundable. I jumped on the Wagon, and I'm glad I did. It saves me Gas, and Money, and I don't ave to shop around to see who has the better deal. -
go to allstarhealth.com and buy the MUSCLE MILK LIGHT online. Its cheaper that way. I drink the following: Vanilla creme mix with water/ can be used for a base. chocolate Milk strawberry Cookies n Creme Chocolate Peanut Butter. These are all very good, I keep them in the house to switch up. They all mix with Water.

Changing Doctors???
54Shirley replied to Iryshgreene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know how bad you both feel about each other, but,,, if its really bad then you might have to chalk up the loss just to get a better Dr. for follow up care. On the other hand, if you can stomach him for as long as you are entitled to him, and his work is so, and so. Then I would tolerate him, and get my papers so I could start looking for a new Dr... Hope this helps. Shirley -

Can You Tell Me Your Favorite Meals!!!
54Shirley replied to kr8160311's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I posted that info., and I believe your not quite rite ! Corned Beef is a excellent Protein dish. Served with Cabbage ,Potato, onion is a good dish. My Surgeon told me to eat the dark meat from chicken, the white meat is to dry for me to swallow, and the calorie difference is not significant. Pork is high in Protein, and baking it locks the juiciness in. Seafood or Fish is always a good choice. Steak I like mine wrapped in Foil 2 x, and smothered with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. sprinkled with oregano, then baked in a 500 degree oven for 1 hour. You never had a more TENDER Steak. Mushrooms can be oven baked or deep fried ? Other vegetables,,, You can have what you can tolerate. Everyday is a different day with the band, so I take it one day at a time. If you see this as wrong, then that's up to you. But the Question was Can you tell me your favorite meals ? These are all possibles. Including Lamb when I can get it, BBQ on a Grill is also great. Look these foods up on calorie king and you will see they are high protein foods. Remember: I'm talking about quality,"THE BEST YOU CAN GET" and quantity " LESS IS MORE !" So I agree with elcee. Except for a hiccup or 2 This is all SPOT ON ! Thanks elcee. Shirley. -

Post Op Supplies List
54Shirley replied to Sunshyne068's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your Doctor might supply the Velcro wrap around for your waiste. So if you buy one, don't open it if you get one, and it should be able to be returned. Puzzle books, DVD's, I had a lot of pillows to help keep me comfy, because I slept in a chair. A bed was to hard to get up from. So if you have a recliner, and allot of pillows, you can be very comfy. -

Pick up some Lipton Cup of Soup/ CREAM OF CHICKEN. I love the flavor, and sometimes it's just enough. Talk to your Dr. about chew-able vitamins, and I chewed Pepcid Complete. for Heartburn, and it helped allot. -

Don't forget a pill splitter/crusher. I bought mine on ebay. If you see them they are round, and RED in color. They are stackable parts. Crusher/ Splitter/ Pill Case. You can stack all or 2 or carry 1 in your purse. Look into your shakes on line also. They can be cheaper then the stores -

Swallowed A Big Pill, Help!
54Shirley replied to dramastarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go back to the basics for a few days because your swollen... Switch to Flintstones Complete with CHOLINE. This is a chew able vitamin. You can go to their website and print a coupon for them. But they must be Complete for the Bariatric Patient. I do 3 a day, and they keep me peppy. -
I been buying Flintstones COMPLETE with CHOLINE for almost 6 years now. I have tried the off brands, and they just don't have the pick me up that the Flintstones do. I know this from feeling tired, and bruising. You can go to the Flintstones Web Site, and print off a coupon, then look for some sales, and save money. Just remember: It must be there COMPLETE/CHOLINE or it won't really work well. I do 3 a day, and I feel great. Get back if you need to. Shirley.

I like chicken Legs or thighs done in shake n Bake, "CHOPS ARE GOOD TOO" Then a1/4 cup of Mashed Potatoes, 1/8 cup of chicken gravy. Corned Beef is high in Protein, and I do it in the slow crock cooker. Steak use the Tenderloin or Fillet Mignon, and a small Baked Potato, I do a lot of Cottage cheese, Chicken salad, Tuna Salad. Chicken Nuggets dipped in BBQ Sauce. I love eating Fish or Shrimp the best. I'll add some deep fried Mushrooms, and that's good. Just a few ideas, hope this helps, and as you see, you can eat most foods, just make sure there soft. Shirley This will be about 3-4 weeks after surgery, -
I Didn't Read The Fine Print - No Liquids While Eating!
54Shirley replied to Cyndie B's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you make a 8 oz. shake with flavored protein powder. Try using 1/2 the amount of water, and putting this in a small bowel with a lid. Shake well, and Freeze. This makes a great pudding, and your getting your protein. All water that you use throughout the day, you should be counting. I put a 64 oz. jug in the fridge, and use it for all my shakes, soups, and cooking. If you figure it that way you will get your fluid in. In Time ! If you count your glasses of water separately , compared to all other fluids,,, you'll drowned in the water. -

54Shirley replied to Iryshgreene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been there ! Get a copy of all your Records, and Post Op Notes. When you get them get on the phone, and start calling up Dr.'s Offices. Tell them you moved or relocated, but don't tell them that you have had a problem They don't want someone else's Garbage ! So you can et off to a good start with a Dr. that has good follow up care. Good Luck !! It might take some time, but time is what you have. I waited 2 years ! and it's well worth it. Contact me if you need to, Shirley. BTW Make copy's of everything that you send, or Fax your info., but keep all your original paperwork that they send you threw Records. -
How Do You Get Your Protein In?
54Shirley replied to littlerlou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use MUSCLE MILK LIGHT in different flavors. If I can't drink it down, I'll use 1/2 the amount of water, and mix it up in a Dessert dish/cover. Freeze that for a while, and have a excellent pudding with all the protein still there. -
