I had one about the size of a fist, from my Gallbladder coming out. The wall tore were it was stitched. I have had it repaired 3 times. The first 2 were done with MESH "DON'T DO IT ! ! ! NO MATTER WHAT" Then my LapBand surgeon found the Hernia, dug it out, and sered the flesh closed with a hot rod. Just like searing a steak. as a result it never came apart, I will gladly give you some advice. DO NOT DO THE MESH, IT ROTS, AND FAILS. ,and you will really be limited, because it will forever try to pop out. Because it already popped out, you either popped a stitch, or have a weak wall. Not Uncommon at all ! Let him go back in Laparoscopically, and seer it closed. Yes it will hurt, that's why they call it a HERNIA. Day after day, it will get better. Mine was repaired almost 5 yrs. ago, and its all one piece, so no tearing at all. KNOCK ON WOOD ! Shirley

The Fill Center that I went to was a Plastic Surgeon's Office ! So he was involved with everything. They would start you off with maybe a couple of cc's then on your next visit, give you a glass of water to drink. If it couldn't go down, then with the needle still in the port, He would pull out some saline so that the water will go down. Then he can tell you how many cc's you have in your band. As long as you stay full for 4-5 hrs. your good to go.

I was Banded 10/31/2006 I had lost total of 155Lbs., but not all with the band. I had 1 year pre surgical dieting of 1200 calories a day. I lost it almost all doing that. I only lost around 20 lbs. with the Band. Do to bad aftercare My surgeon ended up deflating me. I almost gained it all back. Anyway I found a new surgeon about 100 miles away from where we moved, and he's good... So I started over again this January with the 1200 calorie a day thing, then finally I ot the call for the fill. They thought revision but nothing wrong with this 4cc band. So they filled it to it's fill line. So now I am of and rolling along again. So your not alone, and don't be a stranger... We probably talked before anyway... Shirley.

My hat's off to you ! Don't cut yourself down because your following instructions, and as usual from what I have seen ! They won't listen, it's to be done there way! $$$ So now you know what it is like to be near or at your fill line. This makes this whole Band journey doable... So make sure you chew that food up ! Go to myfitnesspal.com and join up ! It's Free ! you can record all of your eating, and exercising. It will look at your weight, and where you would like to be, the calculate you daily calorie intake. You just stay under that, and you will lose weight.... Also, you can look at other peoples diets, and view what they are eating. It kind of gives you a idea for different things. I am losingintime on that site, look me up. See ya, Shirley.

It didn't take you long to figure this whole thing out at all. So I have a feeling that you are going to go far, as long as you understand that this band is a one day at a time tool. Some days I can eat, and some i can't ! on those can't days,,,, I just thin out my shakes, so it's a little easier going down. You will get to the point where you can get it what is required of you, but don't push it... You will get there... The up and down thing. I am not sure if you are speaking about the HORMORNAL factor it Obesity bothering you (CAUSE IT CAN) or if your just tired or beat feeling. If that's it are you on any chewable Vitamins? We were all put on FLINTSTONES COMPLETE with CHOLINE. I chew 4 a day and it keeps me rolling. Just like Gas in the Tank ! I'm ready for anything. You might want to keep that in mind. But it must be the COMPLETE or they won't work. Also off brands just don't have the kick that these do. Keep that in mind. I buy them when there on sale BOGO, plus take in a coupon from there website, and save a Dollar or 2. Good Health to you, Shirley.

If you talk to your surgeon, and tell them the problem, and then tell them you want to be filled to your fill line under Fluoroscope. They can get you right where you are suppose to be.That's what they did for me, and it worked. The same can be done for you. If it does not work at all! Then let the surgeon know that also, could be the wrong size band... Good Health to you, Shirley.

I know I will be very happy... When my band got messed up from bad aftercare, I was down to 201 from 356. I was devastated Now I am on a roll again, and I will welcome it with open arms.

I went to my PCP today, feeling a little tired, and under the weather. So she took a look at me, and said I had a STROKE ! Me ? R U KIDDING? I just don't feel like myself.. Yep, You had a Stroke ! Well I told her she was full of it ! So, she tested me Neurologically, and,I was fine ! She insisted that I go to a Hospital, so pick one. WHAT ! Where do you want me to go? Where ever you feel you will be comfortable if you had to stay overnight... What I'm not staying overnight.... just want to make sure that you're all right.... So I made my decision, and went. They looked at me, questioned me, asked my husband Does she sound normal to you? Yep. Because she sounds normal to me........ Never the less they did their CT SCAN, and I am fine... They checked my blood all is fine... I would hate to see if I walked in there with chest pains, and she said I have indigestion. So we both are starting our search for a new DR., or Dr's.... I would like it if he had his own Dr. ... So Internal Medicine I think will fit his needs, "HE'S GOT ALOT" New M.D. for me, and that will do just fine. What a Day............................................................................. I blinked my eyes in her office, and Dollar signs should up.

I will be checking one out in Internal Medicine. I think this will be best for his needs. But now that this has come up, I don't know if they will take him?????? We also have to see if it's malignant or benign. But I'm still going to try.

Let me switch gears and give a example. My Husband has a Tumor on the spine, according to the results of the MRI (Just found out yesterday.) All she does is tell him that your out of shape, and you need Physical Therapy. She also knows that he had a Kidney removed do to RENAL CELL CARCINOMA. Se still insisted on physical therapy do to Arthritis. Wel the Dr. covering for her is setting up a CT SCAN so they can further look into this. So even if he lives,, he's in for a long haul. But I was the one that told her again that he is suppose to follow up with CT SCAN just to play it safe. This is to be yearly. She finally said fine ! I'll set up the MRI. Well I guess it's safe to say Physical Therapy has nothing to do with his back killing him. But that is her diagnoses. Wrong Again !

I was a bit nauseated, and I always slur my S's. (Dental Problem and she knows it !) She sent me because of the speech, and fatigue. She tested me in her office, and I passed. Yet she still said I had to go in. The CT SCAN came back normal, BLOOD WORK the same, URINE the same. I am glad to find out that I am Healthy ! I would like to do it on my time though... Not know in the back of my head that she is full of it, and milking me..... I mean this is my PCP, not someone I never seen before. Even the PA, and Nurse new she was full of it, but the PA said we will run the test anyway. So, I was there, and I said fine,,, run your tests, but I'm telling you that I am fine. She said I believe you. After the scan, no sign of STROKE at all. She jumped the gun ! That's a different story. She wanted me in the Hospital in a Flash, but now won't see me for follow up for 3 WEEKS ! Now, you try to tell me that, that makes sense. When follow up is 2-4 days.. So I called to schedule a appointment for next week. She's on vacation... O.K.... Let me see who is covering for her. Nope you have to Wait 3 weeks, then she will call you and schedule a appointment..... Well. if I were that bad, that I had to go to a Hospital NOW. Because it'e important right ! Don't you think the follow up is just as important. I say it was done for the money. milking the Ins... I'm grateful that I am fine, and of course did not have a stroke. But this was uncalled for. She knows me, and I told her I felt tired, probably from missing my Vitamins lately, and sometimes not getting my Protein shake in for the day. I was told "NICE JOB OF SELF DIAGNOSING !" I explained to her if we let this go, we can end up feeling Lousy. (I HAD GOTTEN A FILL END OF JULY, AND IT WAS A LITTLE SNUG FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS.) but she didn't believe me, and insisted it was a STROKE. That's what went on.

Going to do that too ! ! But first I have to get another Dr.... I can't be left hanging with out a Dr.... Then the call goes in, because I am really pissed. What a way to screw someone around for money. Even the Hospital staff new there was nothing wrong. Thanks for the TIP ! Shirley.

You had surgery, you are now considered a risk... Bottom Line... As far as FMLA your company is to small to fall under their guidelines. Your surgeon is not going to release you to lift that kind of weight. He won't want to repair a HERNIA on you, and you would not like it trust me ! If you find another job (GOOD LUCK) You will have to hope they have Ins., and if they do,,,,, you'll need to see how long before it;s available to you. Your better off asking your surgeon how long before he releases you from restriction Wait on the matter, and take it on the chin for now. You can always go somewhere else for a second part time job, just don't go against what he says ! He knows whats best for you.

I needed 2 Knee replacement surgeries. The Surgeon told me to lose 100lbs. have WLS so it can't come back. then come back, and I will get my surgery. I lost it, went back, and told them that I kept up to my end of the deal, now are you going to keep up to yours? Well he couldn't believe it when he saw me. I guess he never thought I would come back, and the difference in how I looked. He smiled, and said Shirley ! Your gonna get your knee surgery. About 4 months later he did the other knee. I walk unassisted, and trust me I get around, and go wherever I can.

I have been fat all my life, so I will probably always deep in my soul think of myself as a fat person. It's o.k. though,,, because as I look into the Mirror now, I already see smaller waste, thighs etc. If only the junk in the trunk would get lost... But I am patient with that one. I know it will happen. But yep I feel that I will always feel like a fat girl, because I have never been thin. Now I could blossom, and enjoy my thin life, (I'M SURE I WILL.) and maybe someday put this all in the past. I hope !
