We do have a Hypo Bandster site also. Check it out sometimes. -
I don't know what you mean by Convulsions ? I mean I know strait across the board what a seizure is. I never herd this term used with the band, and I been banded 6 yrs......... I would call the Dr. if you are having problems. I would think twice about another fill.

Am I really getting a band around my stomach???
54Shirley replied to SkinnyMiniMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost 115Lbs. so far, and a long way to go. I started at 356, and last time weighed I was 241. I see my PCP on the 24th. So I will see what I weigh then. Best decision I ever made ! ! ! I lost weight before with the band, and the surgeon over filled me, and thought he blew the band. Well he didn't, it was to tight, so he deflated me. It broke my Heart.... But I waited until I got Insurance again, and I found a New Surgeon to take a look at this damage. Well,,, there was nothing wrong, just deflated. That was 03/03/11, and I am on a roll again. So the ticker shows the weight loss for this year. But like I said it is more then that. This is easy once you understand it. Eat small amounts, make sure the majority is Protein, and be patient. Consistency is the key. Good Health to you Skinny, you made a wise choice. Shirley. This October 31st. is my 6yr. Bandaversary. So this works. -

You go Girl ! -
This will give you a chance to have a life. You have seen the pics yourself. There are some Beautiful Bodacious Babes on here ! It worked for them, it can work for you.... BUT,,,,,,, you have to be devoted to losing weight ! Consistency is the Key ! It can be complicated at first, but once you get the hang of the Tricks too, you will see how easy it gets. But be patient. this is a slow go, and it takes time. Personally I chose the band after going to a seminar, and hearing the Surgeon explain that for BY Pass they alter your insides, throw out 20' of intestines into Toxic Waste, there is NO ! going back, and Dumping, and Complications can be endless. So I chose the band, because it is forever under the maintenance of your surgeon. Something goes wrong, they can fix it. Unless their is Erosion or you want it out. But even slippage ! These people have surgery to fix it, and keep going. . Bypass: it's up to you. If you regain weight. My surgeon told me that he would be telling me "O well ! I did my job ! Are you doing yours" and that's it...... The sleeve is nice, but again, they cut your stomach up, and the Hunger Hormone grows back in a couple of years. So your Hungry again. I would try the band, and if I wanted more, then add the sleeve, or change to it, or you will see that it works for you. I wish you luck on your research. This October 31st. I will be banded 6 years. So I know it works. You have to learn how to work this tool, and it will come off. Do your research, and decide if you are ready for a New Life. If So Go to a Seminar at a Center of Excellence in Bariatrics. Listen to the difference. then decide. I'm sure you will go far. Your very Pretty, and you know it. So if you want that knock out Body to fit the Vanity you speak of,,,,, it's all doable.. Shirley.

I think you need to watch your own video carefully. You will here yourself talk about food, eating, cooking for you. I believe you have a Food Addiction. Not to fear.... I have one too. The band makes it possible to cut your appetite, so you won't want to eat all kinds of stuff. Depression,, that comes from being overweight. So yep you were right about the weight. It throws your Hormones out of whack, so everyone in one way or another gets Depressed. When you lose weight, you lose the Depression. Alter your Digestive system, or shut it down ? You have the wrong surgery mixed up with the band. That does not happen with the band. You will eat at least 3 x a day, probably some Snacks, but it will be Healthy Food, not the stuff that you love to eat that got you where your at. Somethings will be altered, and some things are in portion control. Either way you will be satisfied. But that comes in time ! First you have to have enough adjustments, then the band kicks in and takes the edge off of eating. Until then,,, you will learn control on your own, like we all did... Does it work ? I would say YES! I was 356, and last time weighed I was 241. I'll see next week when I get weighed again. But yep it keeps coming off as long as I watch what I eat, count calories and Protein, 800-1200 calories daily, and work out 3 x a week. So I don't kill myself, or burn out. Weight Gain yep I gained it almost all back, this is my second time around.. Surgeon deflated me by thinking he blew the band. Well he was wrong. He overfilled me, and that was all. But he deflated me, and it took time to get another surgeon to look at it, and see that there was nothing wrong, then he filled the Band. This was a surgeons mistake that was fixed with a fill. THIS IS NOT A COMMON THING. The weight Loss on the Ticker is from January only. Actual weight loss is 115Lbs. So yep I know it's possible. This is not sugar coated either ! Shirley.

How many of you have hypothyroidism?
54Shirley replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At least 20 yrs. ago, they finally discovered that I had Hypothyroidism . I had been tested as far as 37 yrs. ago, and even though the Dr. said it was, when I saw a specialist, and had die shot in me, with X-RAYS in a Leaded Walled Room.... They said I was fine. Turns out mine fluctuates from Hypo to Hyper says the PCP. The Endro. says no its Hypo. So I went through synthroid, it does not absorb into me. I was asked time, and time again if I even take the Medication ? Yes why do you think I'm here for a blood test, if I'm not taking them. Anyway it never worked. So I moved, and I explained it to a new PCP, and she say's she has heard of this happening, so she prescribed the Generic. Fast Forward in time I started to feel Terrible, and she told me I was at a good level. Well it got worse, so I stopped taking them. I seen her and told her, and she flipped ! Don't you know you could DIE ? NO! No one ever told me about this. So she said I'm putting you back on, and don't stop taking them ! ! ! I told her why do I want to take something, that makes me feel terrible ? I want to see a Endocrinologist... She looked at me and said your right ! I'm not qualified to deal with a problem, if its that complex. So i will send you to one. He said we start fresh, forget the past, and I guarantee you will feel better... So he put me on Armour Thyroid "a natural medication" It works ! My levels are Normal "for the first time in my life" I agree that it tastes terrible, but what are you going to do about it..... So I see him next month, and see how I am doing. But I can't complain about it. Not when it works. -

The Gallblader hurts quite a bit. Call your surgeon, and have him phone in some type of liquid pain Medication. I had Percocet, and it helped quite a bit. Hope you get to feeling better. Shirley. -

Glad it worked out for you. Shirley -
Well I have lost a total of 115 lbs. so far, and still a long way to go. But I am doing it with the Band. Best Decision I ever made ! You are not Banded, but yet knows that the Band SUCKS ! In my opinion,, it sounds to me like you already made your mind up ! I sure wouldn't go with something that SUCKS ! So if the sleeve fails in a few years, and some of them have ! ! ! Don't cry about wishing that you still had part of your stomach left. Especially when it's hauled away as Toxic Waste. That's your Decision. I only wish the best of Luck. Shirley.

We will be Soul Bandsisters because of the same day.. I had Fantastic Care. -
That's Good ! If your not Hungry ! Don't eat. You have real Hunger when your stomach growls. Or you have Head Hunger. Don't feed the Head Hunger and you will do fine. If you feel after a few hrs. of going back and forth with this, and you want to have something. MAKE SURE IT IS Protein.

Should be Adolph's meat Tenderizer. I looked it up in my Bible from Henry Ford Hospital.

Welcome Aboard ! Do you belong to myfitnesspal.com ? If not you should. It's free, and you can keep track of all your intake, and exercise, and more. It takes the guess work out of how much you ate. You will be able to make the adjustments yourself, and it will calculate. Could be Water. It will kick in eventually. First fill is not a Miracle Worker, unless you get a big one. It usually takes a few to feel restriction. So in the meantime, you can keep track on the site I gave you. Good Health to you, Shirley.
