That's a good size fill ! So congrats, but take it slow ! Our place, when we get that big of a fill, they tell us 3 days of liquid, 2 days of Mushies, then try food. That works pretty good, so passing it along your way. So once you finally start to eat something, just take it slowly. Shirley.

That's not a Mushie ! ! at all..... You are swollen, and should stay on Liquids for a couple days. Elcee took the words out of my mouth LOL Crushed Ice, and gently let it melt at the back of your throat, and go down, and help the swelling. Don't think about solid foods yet. You will get there ! For now a couple days of liquids, a day of mushies, then try food. Good Luck, Shirley.

I understand that you want your band fixed ! Are you sure you want to go threw this with the problems you are having now ? Even the coughing all night is not a good thing... Could you not wait a couple of weeks until this calms down ? Or do you think that the slippage is the problem ? I would talk to my surgeon, and see what he thinks. "It's just a thought." Ask your Surgeon will fixing the slippage stop the coughing ? Because once they fix you with all new surgery,,, I sure hope your not still coughing..... I wish you Good Health, Shirley.

Ditto ! It is very Good Stuff ! I buy the Muscle Milk Light powder, and it mixes with Water. Go to AllStar Health.com and enter the product. There under $20.00 per jug, and whatever you purchase 1 or 11 it's only 5.99 for shipping. I keep on hand : chocolate Milk Peanut Butter Chocolate Strawberries n Creme vanilla Creme Cookies n Creme. These are very Flavorful, and that's what helps them go down. I look forward to one everyday. I recently donated 8 1/2 inches of hair to Locks of Love. she banded the tail then cut it off, and you should have seen how Healthy that hair looked when it was cut. Looked like a young persons Hair. Point is ,, Everybody says you can lose your Hair if you don't drink enough Protein. (THIS IS TRUE !) But with this stuff I never lost my Hair, it only grew longer, and got healthier. Check them out if your interested, that's were I buy my supplies at.

My surgeon puts everyone on Pepcid Complete "Chewable" That way you have no problems taking it. I was on Prevacid for years... and after being banded, the Pepcid did the job, but I took it daily for at least 6 months. Now I have Omeprazole, in the house just in case I need it.

If you mix yours with water or milk, you can add a little more liquid to thin it out, and it should go down a little easier, especially in time, and stick with the shakes, because they are higher in protein. That for sure is something that you need.

When mine is partially full - full. I can't sleep on my stomach at all. If I am Filled Tight ! I can't even sleep on my left side. I would be concerned about a direct kick or hit at that Port. Remember it is only plastic tubing glued into place. (New Plumbing...) So please be careful...

Contact your Ins. Company, and see who they like to work with. They will tell you there top picks, or tell you to go to a Center of Excellence. That's what you want anyway ! But they will help you out. Also find out all the stipulations for being Banded while your on the phone.

Just go in and talk about what you want, and answer his questions. It's a breeze ! They have it all down Paton, so your not the first, and you won't be the last. So just be yourself. I hope that helps.

WOW ! you got Lucky as far as the surgery, and care.... Sorry about the job, me too, and it's still only going to get worse ! That's the sad part. sleep in a Recliner with lots of Pillows, get out a Heating Pad or Hot Water Bottle this will help. Keep up with your Fluid intake, and your doing fine. So Welcome Aboard ! Yep I just got over this Mucus problem, and sinus drainage down the back of my throat.. I take a sinus pill for it. and Water helps thin out the secretions. It can be a sign of being to tight also. I had to go in for a slight unfil, so that flem could o down. On occasion, I still find my sinus draining, and I take a small pill for it. Crush yours if you have to, and put it in S. F. pudding. Stay on liquids for 3 days, then try mushies. I stayed on mushies because regular food wood get stuck to often. If after say 2 weeks, this has not cleared, and you can eat, then call your Dr. for a slight unfill. Also warm tea or Soup help cut the secretions some. Shirley.

On my Surgeons end, they all go to Switzerland throughout the year, and are sharpened up with new Techniques in Schooling. This is a REQUIREMENT... Even my band is installed the European way. Yes there is more than one way you know... He chooses the European way because less chance of slippage. That is his way, and that is on every patient of his. That is in the U.S.A.... I am walking proof of his work, and that's good enough for me. So why travel when you can get it done here.

This is Quick and Tasty. Low Cal., and High in Protein. Ingredients" Large Cottage cheese Large Jello Something that goes good with pineapple. Large Cool Whip Large can of Crushed Pineapple. Drain Pineapple in a strainer. In a mixing bowel, add the Cool Whip, and DRY JELLO ! (NO Water AT ALL !) mix well. Add the Cottage Cheese, and stir well. Fold in the Pineapple. Chill overnight, and serve with your meal. It's a Good Dish. If your in the Mushie stage,,, this is Great Stuff ! You can cut everything in half if you want a smaller bowel.

I tried the Vanilla pudding. "I used French Vanilla" . It was Fantastic ! Just thought you would like to know.

Ditto ! Not to mention with my Ins. I had to go to a Center of Excellence. Where these Dr.'s have certain standards that they must keep up or they would lose that Certification. I would rather have a true specialist, then whoever is sent your way. Also allot of the Canadians come over to Michigan, at Henry Fords Hospital, because there Ins. is accepted by these Dr.'s. I'll tell you what, they come by the bus loads full, because they would rather have it done here, and someone from the Family is put up curtisey of them. That is in the U.S. of A.
