I went to the Dr. today for this virus, and I got weighed. 7lbs down, and 8 to go for Valentines Day. Also not to far from being under 200Lbs.. All in time.. 356/209/135 Banded 10/31/06

Thanks Every body. This site is for info.,motavating us, and besides a whole lotta other stuff like challanges,. I think it's about expressing your self. It's great to go on here and read all of your thoughts. From what I am reading about our October Bandsters, I'd say we are a determined, rock solid bunch., and were doin it. Even if it's slow! Were still hangin in there to do it. That's strenght in numbers, and determination. To the people that don't have much of a fill in them. I got my first fill 12/29/06 1cc in a 4cc band. Just eanough to lock the band, so it doesn't slip when I undergo Knee surgery in February. Now it's just eanough for some restriction. He say's "Dr," as long as you arn't hungry all day it's normal.. To get hungry 4 or 5 times a day is normal just eat eanough to take the hunger away. I'm on 700 - 900 calories a day, sometimes I strugle to make 700. So count those calories, that's what's gonna make the difference... Good Job to every one "cause luck has nothin to do with this." We will continue to go foreward... Shirley:clap2:

Wow!!!! talk about a shock, listen to this. When I first started on my weight loss journey, 10/05 I wore a 5x "and in stretch pants of course." Today I went back to work,"after a week off." and noticed that my pants were kinda baggy. So, into the smaller size cloths I went. I can't believe it i'm in a size 18. I haven't worn that in years. So I looked in the Mirror, and these Jeans look great. I no it's not like a size 2 or 4 or something like that, but wow what a difference. I can finally say Shirley, your'e starting to look damn good. Just thought I would share this moment with you all. Shirley:amen:

I'm not noticeing the stretch marks as much, as I am not seeing cellulite. That stuff "cottage cheese look" is truely grose to me. Shirley...

Well,, I went to the surgeon today, and got my first fill to lock the band in place. 1cc, it's a 4cc band. Any advice from all of you pros.??? I found out I made my Christmas goal, and, I am 2 lbs on my way to the Valentine's Day goal. "YES" with a fill, this is bound to help. This is for all of you computer "Geniouses" out there.. Please help me to cut and paste my ticker.. For the life of me I can't figure out to cut and paste to what????? Please get back to me, so I can get my ticker ticking. Shirley....... Wow!!!!, this is great! Everyone is motivated to do this challenge. Even excercise is going to play a roll. I can't do a bike, or treadmill because of my knee., but,,, I do have some weights, and I think it's time for me to start toneing up. 3 times a week sounds good to me. As far as makeing the Christmas challange,, I'm not sure if I did... I don't get weighed untill my next visit 01/24/07. Last time weighed was 12/14/06. So I am kinda stuck in the middle. I did get a scale for christmas "need to wright that one in the books!" so I need to compare it to were I get weighed in at, and see if it's off by a few pounds. "i'm sure it is." But the good news is I went down a size, so something came off right? I am still waiteing for my first fill. Banded 10/31/06. Shirley....

I agree, it is very realistic. Especially when they say 6 to 8Lbs. a month is the norm! I haven't even had my first fill yet, and I am averageing 7Lbs. a month. So it should be do-able "hope I spelled that rght." for a lot of people. So common all you bandsters. Lets start doing this as soon as you can, because valentine's day is not that far away. By the way in the beginning of February. I go in for Total Knee Replacement. I don't no if I will be able to step on a scale, but I will surely try. Happy New Year every one... Shirley...:clap2:

Here's one you should try "Muscle Milk Light" My surgeon, and Dietician recomend this, and so would I!!! You mix a 8oz. shake and get 25G of Protien, 2G of sugar, and 195 calories. That is Awsome.... Go to ebay, type it in, and price it. You can go to a G.N.C., but it is a lot more expensive. Flavors are great! I mean cookies n cream, Chocolate peanutbutter, strawberry shake, chocolate carmel pecan, and the list goes on. Remember!! you will be on this stuff probably for life. "that's what I was told!" So you must get that protien in. Another great way to start the day is Carnitation Instant Breakfast. "in the blue box" see if you can find the variety box? "I did" it's pretty good. I use light soy milk. "can't drink the real thing." any questions get back. But M.M.L. is the best way to go. Happy Shopping. Shirley...

Jimboss has just took control!!! There you go Jimboss, it's all about your drive, determination, and remember! This is a one day at a time thing. Results won't happen over night "you all ready no that" so take it as it comes. If you mess up one day, you can make up for it the next. It's not that bad. My Dr. still hasen't given me a fill. He says 4 Lbs a month is fine, "not to me!!" and I lost 6 Lbs. . So he says he can see by the #s that I don't need a fill yet. Well he is the Dr.. So I will go with what he says. But you sound to me like youv'e got the ball, so run with it. Shirley...:flame:

I went in for my first fill today, didn't get one.. Dr. say's I am doing a good job at the weight loss. Lost 6Lbs. so far from last visit till today. 15Lbs.since surgery 10/31/06. He wants to see me back the end of January, to see about a fill. He said, at this early stage, I might feel a little to tight, and would only end up comeing back to get it taken out. Im not talking about Mom & Pop Shops, they are not even in the running for this. It's very sad, but there days are almost gone. I am talking about chains of Pharmacies. We have all pd. top dollar, and watched our parents pay top dollar and bitch! Now for them, and some of us, this will help. like I said, I'm not a fan of Wallmarts, but I will check this out, and I'm sure it is going to affect the major chanes. If you have no Ins., and you can get your meds for $4.00? a no brainer.

Personally!!! I like the Wallmart Plus in Northern Mich.. You would have to see this to believe it. Wallmart's in general is a junk store., but,, when it comes to prescription prices. I'm going to check this out. My co-pay for generic is $10.00 or $20.00 depending on the meds. Name Brand $40.00, We all have a few name brands in this house. So I will put my pride on the back burnner, and check this out. The only state not covered "don't ask me why?" is North Dakota. You can go to wallmart site, hit pharmacy, then enter your zip code, go. That should tell you were one is near you if any. Merry Christmas!!!!!! Shirley...

I went on solids about 2 1/2 weeks after surgery. I felt like I was starving. So when I went for my post op, the Dietician said "have you tried solid foods yet? yes, How was it? o.k., not a problem. Then stay on solids, and here is the total ounces, that you are to eat per meal 4." I said o.k., and I went with that. I try to stay under 900 cal. a day., but it's more like 960 a day, soooo, that's still not bad.

Even though we have Ins.. This will give everyone an idea, of how big the mark up on drugs really is. I wonder how all the other big pharmacies are going to compete against Wallmart??? We have a program in Michigan, that allows you to go to any Pharmacey, and enter in the drug, and get a price. This way you can compare. I went on line the other day researched 1 drug. Price$9.99, the Pharmacy next door $54.99. So if you are paying cash? Bottom line is Research the price of every drug. It may help save you money. Shirley...
