Could be J! What is your daily calorie intake ruffly. Mine is suppose to be from 700-900, but the Doc say's 1000 is fine. I'll see about that tomarrow. Shirley...

My Doc is happy with 1 1/2 lbs a week. He say's on average this is normal. So I will find out tommarow if that's what I am loseing. I no it's a slow procedure, but,, hang in there. Shirley..

I'm from Michigan!: So I don't no any Dr.'s down there., But,,, you can believe in your own common sence, the band is the way to go... If you have by-pass, and are haveing a bad time with it! There's no going back. If you choose the band and are haveing a hard time with it. They can take out your fills, and you just stay on say 1000 calories a day. But with the band still in place, you still have to chew,chew like it was filled. If it has to come out? You can do that to, thean you are back to square 1. The only reason I am wrighting is on 10/31/06 Is whean I had a 4cc band put on, and I only have 1 cc in it, and am loseing weight. So you can nock yourself out, or you can do it easy. That's what my Surgeon is prefering. He says it's o.k. to get hungry "were suppose to" but eat a little and the feeling is gone right? I said yes! Thean your band is working for you. It's up to you, but I believe you all ready no what to do.. Shirley...

That cold thing with the cough is all over the country. I had mine for almost a month, "still on anti biotics" they are calling mine Bronchitus. At work several ladies have had this, and were hospitalised with phnemonia. So just a wise word Go to the Dr... This is turning out to be something. Igot sick the day after Christmas. That's a long road. Sounds like my husband is comeing down with something now. I hear the sniffles. I am fine, go for a fill Wednesday, then Surgery for a new knee. I'm gettin all fixed up wile I can. Our jobs are going to Mexico; So eventually we to will be out of work, but they will send us to school and pay us for a total of 3 years. So I'm getting it all fixed wile I got Ins... How is every one else? Shirley... i

Hello jr: First of all you look Great!!!!!! You were banded the day after my Birthday. That's cool! I am from Detroit originally. In fact I had my surgery at Henry Ford Hospital. Over on West Grand Blvd. I live in Saint Clair Shores. I was saying to a few people that we all need to meet each other, I'll bet we all have some stories to tell. I'm not in your age bracket though. I would say a lot older. I have 2 sons older thean you. But that's not the pointe,,,, we all have this in common,"the band" and its working. That's what this is about. SOOO watcha think jr, how would you like to meet some people from Michigan that have had this procedure done?, and possibly keep in touch. Shirley...

Jimboss: Sounds like you fell of the wagon as they say. I say youre only Human. "Believe it or Not!!!" This is a one day at a time thing.It's not a race, It's for life. Figure out what you want to do, if it's counting calories thean break out the paper, and start adding them up. If it's working out, try some realistic goals. Maybe 3x a week. If it's a drag "do I no it can be a drag at times" then break it up. Go swimming in a nice heated pool, "I no it's winter"Do you Ice skate at all?, Go to the Mall or stores and walk for a while. I guess what I am saying is get your excersise, but make it fun to. Come February/March I am going to spend a lot of time in a pool for this knee, But it might become a permanent thing for me, thats up to the Surgeon. Juno610,April,Sin: Happy Friday! Wow some of us really are pretty close to each other. At least we found were we all live, thanks to this site. I was thinking, "that's Dangerous!" maybe in the spring or summer we could all meet together at a Mall for something to Drink like coffee or what ever, and we could all meet each other. Happy Friday Every one!!!! Hope at least most of you are o.k... I go on the 24th. for my second fill. I'll be glad. Then on 02/05/07 I go in the Hospital for a total Knee Replacement. I'm looking foreward to this, pain free, then off to a gym for Rehab, I figure that will help. Then,, when I am able I'll go walking, or biking, or who no's?, maybe even join a gym. juno610: Hi! Shirley here. So you have got to be excited! Not to mention anxious, and a whole lot of other feelings comeing on. I no I was.. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. If I had to,, I'd do it again with out thought. It was that good. Come 02/05/06 I will be in surgery again, this time for a total knee replacement. I'm nervous,scared,but I can't waite to get this pain out of my leg "Deseased Knee" The weight took it's toll on my knees, Osteo Arthritis is eating it away.I'll tell you, it really hurts. So I will be glad once it is healed, and I can walk pain free. the Surgeons told me that uless I lose the weight, they will never replace the knee. So 10/05 I started my journey. I really don't think he expected me to loose the weight, but I did, and I'm holdin him to his word, and well,,you read the surgery date. ajnonn: How are you doing with protien drinks? Have you heard of Muscle Milk? Well you did now. Go on ebay and type in Muscle Milk Light, it will all come up. I no it looks expensive, but check out the prices on line, or go to a GNC., I t's a lot more expensive. The reason I mention this product is the variety of flavors, and the nutrion value. Check out the Food Guide and just read the different flavors. Henry Ford Hospital told me about this stuff, and that it promotes healing. "It really does! Read the literature" So that's what I use, it's food for thought, and the rest of your life. If you would like any other info like CIB is also good, then get back, I'll be glad to share what I have learned, and know.. Shirley.. :high5: Hello up in Traverse City.... We have a second home up north for summer, and retirement. Do you no were St. Helen is. That's were we are when ever we can get there. And a loud hello to our neighbors in Wisconcin, and any other neighboring state. Feel free to get back, I'm sure were here or there. They told me If you want the best Dr. for the job, go to Henry Fords. So,,, if yu are interested in advice, give them a call. Thear Bariatric Facilitey is Fantastic, nothing short of the very best. I started out at 356, I weighed 231 at my surgery, and at my first fill 12/27 I weighed 209. They really are good there. Any questions? feel free to get back , my name is Shirley.

The stores sell a lot of things now low in calorie, but depends on taste. Like Chrystal Light. I buy their pink Lemonade, it's decent.. Up here Krogers has their own brand of. for water only. They look like a small straw, lots of flavors, and it's for a individual glass, so it's handy too. I believe Kool Aid makes it too, but again, the tasteing part is up to you. Shirley

I can give a example of possible slippage "I would say mild". First of all I am going in for total knee replacement. "trust me, this plays a part" I saw my surgeon for my first fill 12/29/06. They explained that a lot of times Anastesia will make you throw up, and this you don't want to happen, cause it can cause your band to slip. So we will give you youre first fill just to lock it in place. I said fine, and it was done. Shirley
