Mine is also stitched in. I never could understand why more Dr.'s don't use this method, since the chance of a slip is almost impossible.

Knowledge is everything with the band, It does help to understand the beginning stages - Red Zone. The Green Zone will fall somewhere in between for you, and that's what you want. I seen the NEWS tonight, and although they Report that we are a very Obese Nation. They want to make some changes in Clothing... Size 6 will be your New PLUS SIZE CLOTHING if the Desighners have there way. They "WHOEVER' wil be discussing this matter. Are they crazy or what ! We would all have to be a size 4 or less to not be a Plus Size..... Some of these people need to get a life, or find one. Because if this change happens, I'm sticking with what I think is appropriate in size, and they can keep their new size in clothing. This Country would Sky Rocket to the top of the list with Obese people. How would you feel about being a PLUS SIZE WOMAN, when you were down to a size 6 ?

I'm sure you know yourself that not everyones labeling is the same with their own sizing. In other words sometimes a 6 doesn't feel like a six to you, could be to snug or to loose. That's not what I am talking about though. I'm talking about changing the plus size in the U.S.A. to a size 6 would be a PLUS size "Possibley" in the future. If that happens ! Then I will not be interested in their size scale of what is obese. Because they are full of it. You said it yourself best look at you ! Your a size 6. Do you think you would like it if someone asked you what size you were, and while a size 6 just danced of your tongue, they turned around and said "Oh Your Obese !" How would you feel ? I would think they were crazy, and simpley laugh to myself, maybe even out loud. Because they are wrong, and I would not be interested in their Labels.

I agree 100% about the labels for size. My problem is I don't want to loose say 200lbs. just to have someone come along, and tell me I'm Morbidley Obese, because someone has set new guide lines. That's Bull ! and Crazy. Not to mention, It's just plain wrong. If they want to start of by saying how Obese the Country is, then do something about that. Making the Plus size clothing Labels going backwards to a smaller size is not going to help out one way or the other.

Mine wanted the By-Pass too. Infact the morning of surgery, he came jumping in the room, and said 'LET ME DO THE BYPASS!" I said NO ! and it better not be done that way when I wake up. He just turned away and said O.K.... and I don't recall seeing him untill the next morning for the Barium Swallow. So yep I was banded.

I didn't know that I had a Titanium Ring in there tell last year ! I went for a Bone Density Test, and the Girl asked me to please remove my Belly button ring ! I told her that I didn't have one. She said yes you do, and I said No I dont ! After about 3 x of going back and forth she uncovered me, as to show me my ring, and there was none. I told her I had a Lap Band inplant in me, and she scanned, and said yep ! it's your Band. and showed me where it was, and I told her that's my Port. So it's attached, but I have never set anything off yet ! I even have 2 Titanium Knees, and nothing ever went off. I guess I'll see in time, as we get more sophisticated.

I can eat only a little bit of one, when I'm at proper restriction. Otherwise it's out the Question.. So very small pieces.

When I was banded my surgeon said no straws at all. So I go up for a Barium Swallow, and what do they have me do ? Suck it threw a straw... The Dr. about turned Blue, "I laughed to myself" he said he was going to have them fired. He was tired of there mistakes.....

Banded 10/31/2006. The only problem I had was being Deflated. The Dr. thought he blew the balloon in the Band, and I was in THE RED ZONE instead. So a bad call from the Surgeon. He was wrong.

See ! Even you think it's Hormonal... I'll bet it probabley is.

It's a book that was put together by all the specialists at Henry Ford Bariatric Center. They simpley call it "OUR BIBLE" It has a lot of nfo. in it.

Congrats on the TT, and your almost at goal, that is Great ! When I first went to my seminar, I couldn't believe how many people were Depressed. We learned that it is because the Hormones are all over the place. I believe that, because I seen it happen to me. The thing was, that once we loose the weight, this was suppose to go away. I don't have much of a problem with it. I love feeling upbeat. I'm not a specialist, but 2 weeks on, and 2 weeks off sounds Hormonal to me. Maybe you should talk to your Surgeon, or Nutrionist about obesitey, and Depressin related from Hormones, and see what they say. Also ask your PCP they might have a idea. We had to puchase a thick book called our Bible. It's all in there, includeing Depression that is Hormonal. I hope this makes some sense, because you have no control on this one. That's why you should try to talk to who I mentoned, besides your shrink. Make sure He's related to WLS. Then he might know something. Wishing you only the best, take care, Shirley.

First Congrats on your loss ! Second, don't ever let anyone try yo change whats in your Heart, and what your Desire is. If you want it bad enough, you'll get there. Some people keep rolling threw with there WL, and some slow down , and they readjust a few things to get where they want to be. It's doable, it's all in your control, and it's up to you !

I know ! It's CRAZY..... How do these people just decide that they are going to change things, and just have it happen. Sounds like the Politicians in this Country. One day the rules are this way and the next day it's changed ???? Does not make sense at all. What about our BMI anything over 20 going to be considered obese ? I mean if we go with the cloths Manufacturing, because they say it's Plus Size...... Humming Bird: When I was going in for my Band, my surgeon asked me "REALISTICLLY ! wHAT SIZE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE?" I never gave it a thougt, I just wanted to be Healthy. I said I don't know, a 14 would be nice. He lookrd at me and said THAT'S IT?" i said a 12 would be nice, but I don't know if it's possible ? He said " IT'S VERY POSSIBLE, AND YOUR NOT ASKING FOR MUCH. MOST WOMEN WANT TO BE A SIZE 4 OR A 2, AND THAT IS UN-REALITIC, AT TIMES IT DOES HAPPEN, BUT WE DON'T SEE THAT ALLOT. SO YOUR REQUEST,,, IT WILL HAPPEN. Now mind you I told him I' in my 50's, I'm not Bikini Material "he Chuckled" I just want my health back. He said we'll do this. So now to hear a size 6 ! That's unrealistic. I mean Michelle Obama would be considered Plus size. I'm sure this won't happen, but they need to really get it together, and quit the bolony.

Sorry to hear that ! I worked in Michigan, and we were layed off 5 years ago, with No Chance of Recall in sight ! So they paid for us to go to school, gave away our jobs to Mexico, and gave us Unemployment, and a Food Stamp Card ! I said in my opinion this just does not seem fare at all, and it's not. This Depression is going to hit every state, so Good Luck on trying to find something that is not going to be affected by this Depression. I wish you Luck, and I hope you find something.

i Understand. I had both knees replaced, and WL did not come easy, it took time. Also Hypothyroid that doesn't help. Check out my Blog, and see what I had to say about the surgeries. This is doable. If you have Ins. sign up with a Physical Therapy place, and tell them you have the band. I did. I worked out 60 minutes 3 X a week, I used the Pool for 45 minutes, then a hot oil Rub. All coveered by Ins. ... So look into it, they also rent their Gym for a small fee a month. You have to look around though.

I O so Understand ! I have the Old Lady Thighs going on, and they have plumped up some, but I WOULD RATHER HAVE skin hanging, and fitting into smaller cloths, then PLUMP Thighs, and have to wear a larger size. I do understand trust me.

That's a individual question, that I don't think will help you out. The bands are all different in size, the surgeons have different methods of instillation. "Mine is stitched into the stomach to help prevent slippage." were all different... I have a 4cc band with !.5cc in the band. I need a fill, I feel like I am starving. Munching on everything, but trying to keep it low cal.... My fill line is 2.5cc. The thing is though not to get hung up on the numbers. It needs to go by how you feel. I learned that. There are times when 2cc is a little to much for me. Remember ! You have to figure the Fluid in the tubing, and the band. Everyone just thinks it's in the band. Well when they stick a needle in you to adjust you, and fluid back fills in the syringe, try sitting up like crunches a few times, and see if more comes up, because there is always a little left in the band that never gets counted. If you had 2 fills and you had 4cc in your band. A tech sticks in a needle and says 3.75 in the band. Now you know you had 4cc. She said it evaporated "YEGH RITE!" so she gives you 1.25 to bring you to your fill line. Well guess what ! your over the fill line, you now have 5.25 in the band, and your in the RED ZONE. So keep track of whats in your band, but don't get hung up on the numbers.

Actually it's True ! The Surgeon explained, and showed me allot of kids that were burned, and in need of skin grafting. The problem is,,, when they are 3/4 burned over the body, they have no place to go to get the skin. So they get it and keep it alive, actually let it grow untill it's needed again. No one thinks about donating their skin. Vital Organs, well yeagh, but not the skin. So it is possible to go down to a Childrens Hospital Burn Unit, and talk to the Head Surgeon. Tell him what you would be willing to offer, and ask him would he do the surgery, by donating his time. The worst is NO! I would contact a few places, and when they see what they will be getting,,, they might say Yes ! It can't hurt.. I have a 4hr. Drive to go down to Detroit, and even if the Dr. is Retired. I am going to talk to the new head man, and explain what I have to offer, and maybe they will be interested. Fingers are crossed on this one. I have a long way to get to my goal, but I'm going to keep this in mind. It sure can't hurt. I might even check out The U of M. and see what they say. After all the surgeon made me the offer, so, there must be something there that they want, and I will have enough to help allot of people.

Sorry to tell you,,, but your to tight. Have them take a little out while you are drinking. Then give a thumbs up when the Water falls threw. You will be fine then, and you can get it tweaked again sometime in the future. If you stay on liquids until you drop more weight, just so that the band is comftorable, you could end up in a Hospital getting unfilled do to swelling. It's better you do it yourself, then take the chance.

When I worked in Foster Care in Detroit. I new the staff in the Burn Unit at Childrens Hospital in Detroit. I also new the Chief Surgeon. We talked about weight loss, and he told me that skin is a Organ, and if I would donate all that he could take, he would perform the surgery for FREE ! I asked if he was serious, and he said when your ready, just give me a call Shirley. I asked about the Hospital stay, and he said nothing to worry about, it would be taken care of. I hope he's still there when i loose more of this weight. Because I think I will give him a call. I just have to hope that he is still there, and that he remembers me. Throwing that thought your way if you want to enquire at a Burn Unit as a Donor... God knows that they need it.
