In hopes, that you won't eat candy or chocolates, or sugar. / Then she again tactic ! to try to make sure you stick to the plan they design for you. This would be my guess.... Who knows what her B.S is all about. But NO.... truth to that at all !

look on line at a Nephrologist opinion (KIDNEY DR.) Hope I spelled that right. I had someone it my house that was on a High Protein Diet, and it caused Kidney damage. The long run was Dialysis, then I'm sure you can figure the final outcome. It was not pretty. If your going to do this on your own I AM NO DR........ BUT I WAS PUT ON A DIET BY MY SURGEON THAT I STILL STICK TOO. That is 1200 cal. a day., A Little Carib is good, it's a kicker for the protein., and 60 G of Protein. That works, plus throw in some walking and or exercise after you do a Protein Shake. You will be glad to workout ! By the way,,, I had to wait 12 months before my ins. would o.k. me, and I lost over 100lbs. by doing what I am telling you. So I know it works. Give it a thought. It's your life. Shirley.

Easy way out? I don't think so ! There is nothing easy about going threw a list of Dr.'s just to see if your O.K. for surgery. Then the surgery, and living with it. I did mine for Health. I would have died if I didn't do something, and ! I new it before the Dr. did. I was drowning in my own bodily fluids, they were even coming out threw the pours of my skin. then came the choking when I tried to sleep and the only cure was Bariatric Surgery. I'm still here, as you can see. At work all I heard was "can't you do it yourself? Don't you have the willpower or guts to do it." I shook my head in disbelief, and walked away from the ignorance. People who don't have any clue as to what this is all about, seem to be the ones that keep saying the easy way out ! I disagree.....

I appreciate that, but,,,, it's hard when for 3 years you felt like you were failing! Your surgeon has you thrown out,and your told when you start losing weight, come back, and then we'll talk about a fill. He was the one who told me my band was blown, and he said I will take out the fill, your way to swollen. After being laid off for 3years here at that time in Detroit Area. Now I finally get my Ins.. I see a P.A. who looks at me under Fluoroscopy, and tells me there is nothing wrong with me. I just need to be filled, along with that they put in a acrylic in case of a leak it would seal it. She was better with follow up care then the surgeon. So now I see my new surgeon in April, who by the way was trained in the same Bariatric unit as my old surgeon. I hope he's not like him. Mine was a Great Surgeon, but terrible in follow up care. So that's how we start again.

I'm 56. I lost over 120lbs. Then this Genius surgeon screwed up said my band was blown. I gained weight, got laid off, went back to him, and was thrown out. It took 3 years, and I found another surgeon, and guess what, There is nothing wrong with the band ! He deflated it,and said it e\was blown. So I am starting all over again, and you can look at my turtle and see what I lost. It's not much, but it's a start I know that if we all hang in there, no matter how difficult your journey is. We all have a different story. Even though it's the same Band. I was banded 10/31/2006, and I have a long way to go all over again. So don't throw in the towel. Shirley.

It's like a x ray machine that they turn on, and keep on, and they see the whole layout of the band, what shape its in, where to stick the needle to see the fill going in. Only way to go.

It can happen any time. It's good to remember the foods that cause the problem, and avoid them completely. I can't eat bread, chicken breast, beef. Everything must be moist, or it will not go down. I am learning to eat other foods in place of what I can't eat.

Yep ! Drink some water, it will either go down, or it will flip around like a washing machine (THAT"S WHAT I CALL IT) and all come up. Regardless you will be swollen, so stay on liquids for a few days. Once the water brings it up, continue to drink until you feel it clear all the way down. That will unplug you. USE WARM WATER ONLY ! and could have to repeat until you can swallow watter.

Borrow a heavy pair of ankle weights, or buy them. Strap them with a thin belt around your waist or somewhere comfterable. You will think of a way. There scale is different then yours, and if you need the extra weight do it.. Down the back, under the bust, around the thigh. Just make sure you do something. My surgeon, the pockets get emptied, and the shoes come off. So,,, you could have to empty the pockets. So do something under the loose cloths. I would suggest the thigh, just in case he wants to see your stomach. You will get in, because they don't strip you down. I don't think you or me are gonna go to HELL for this one, and you can get done. Shirley.

The surgery is not that bad. It's a Band not By Pass, so you can always go back if your not happy. I think you will be. Where I had mine done, Pop was off limits, no caffeine, and no gum chewing at all ! (IN CASE IT SHOULD SLIDE DOWN? HOW DO YOU GET IT UP?) CARBINATION IS NOT GOOD FOR THE POUCH. i KNOW i TRIED SOME Root beer ONE TIME,,,, Boy WAS i SORRY.. i TOLD THE HUSBAND iF i EVER FORGET,,, tHE ANSWER IS NO FOR POP. i NEVER FORGOT ! ! ! CAFFEINE IS TO HARD ON THE STOMACH. Now that's where I had it done, other people will tell you different. You will have to find out from your own surgeon. Water is a good thing. Your Wait time is up to your Ins.. So give them a call, or look it up on line. As far as the Band, It is a good thing. But, you have to follow the rules, and understand IT TAKES TIME ! Fills are the most important part. It's one fill at a time. each time you get closer to losing your hunger beast. With Protein, and Protein shakes, this is very doable because protein can help kill the hunger, and fills kill the hunger. So in time,,, this all works. But until you start getting fills, drink the protein (LIKE BEFORE OR AFTER SURGERY) You won't be so hungry. Hope this helps ! Shirley.

If you mean gulp it down. Yeagh ! When I go in for a fill one will tell me real slow ,((P.A.) and if I see my Doc He'll give me a glass and say go! I want that whole thing down. He means move it, so he can see if you can handle the fill. That is a quart of water.

I have Osteoarthritis in the knees, and had them both replaced. It's wonderful ! I talked to my surgeon, and he said what do you think your the only one ! I said no of course not, but it makes things harder for me to do. Surgeon says get on a treadmill and bust your *** ! I told him I can't do that, Knee surgeon said walk, that's all I want you to do is walk everyday. He was not happy, but discussed it with a Orthopedic Surgeon, and he settled for it. Wonder what the guy told him.??? Anyway walking is fine, and yes it helps loose weight. I walk around the block, or go down a couple streets, then come back. I don't want to ware these knees out. Also you can contact a physical therapy place near you, and ask them how much they charge monthly to use there gym? A lot of them are doing that now, you might have to check around.

They usually put you on a Morphine Pump. When you go home, you will crush whatever they give you. Look on ebay if you want for a pill crusher. They are reasonable in price, and will come in very handy. Congratulations ! ! ! Shirley.

If you have no infection, and can live with it. Call and ask the Nurse where your surgery is at are you going to be on blood thinners? I was not. If yes. Then go to a Dentist, If no ! then I would Wait. Unless you have artificial joints. Then you have to be on antibiotics for a while in case of infection, before they take the tooth out. This way the infection can't spread to the artificial joint..

contact the hospital, his boss, (HE'S GOT ONE !) Contact a Attorney.. It might cost you a little something, but that's fraud ! Someone will listen to you, because you went through the whole system, and was scheduled for surgery... So someone is accountable. If they so no,,, then sew the Dr... Because that's fraud, and how much have you paid? This all adds up. Get with them, or his boss Chief Surgeon, or Head of Clinic, or Hospital, and tell them this is unacceptable ! If they say no ! Tell them you will get a Lawyer and see what he will do about it. I would call one of those that don't collect unless you win. You already one, because he wanted to perform the surgery, but,,,,, by law he couldn't. That's His Fault ! You think about this, you will see that it is right. No one wants to do this but if you have to go over his head, then do it. Again I would talk to a Attorney just to see what he calls it (SO YOU KNOW !) Then go to work on the clinic. Also let the Ins.
