You forgot P A I N !

It is different for each insurance / doctor. Mine was approved pending a nutritionist assessment within 1 week. Doctor has to put the package together and submit it and then the insurance has to review it. It took about 1 more week after the approval for the approval letter to actually get to the doctor's office.

I have not taken any diabeties medicines since I went into the surgery for lapband. I was taking 2 shots a day of lantus and 2 shots a day of byetta. I was taking 2 1 Gram metamorpine tables a day, 1 glipiczde XL, 1 liprosil, and 1 Tricore. I am taking nothing now. I may have to start Tricore back if my test on Friday shows up bad. Now I am taking other things. I am taking a prenatal Vitamin a day, along with 2 tums, and Citrical petite tables along with Biotin.

I have heard that United Healthcare covers it unless your employer has an exclusion. Good luck on your journey. Some insurance companies require a supervised weight loss program and a history of being overweight. If your BMI is less than 40, then you will probably be required to have a co-mobidity. You can call your insurance company and ask them. They can send you the documentation on WLS.

I found out why I was denied, now what??

If you change surgeons, I am pretty sure that you have to go through the approval process again. -
I had my 1st fill yesterday. I think he put in 2ccs. I can tell a small restriction when I am drinking, so I have to drink slower now. It was really nothing. I prick for the numbing medicine. The injection into the port, there was no feeling. I have 3 days of liquids and then back to the scheduled dietary stuff. I was banded on Feb 6th.

I was banded on February 6th. I did not feel restricted. I got my 1st fill today, February 19th and got 2 CCs. I have the realize band. I can tell the difference today.

I had never heard of them before you mentioned them. I am an old fart at 55. I went to UTUBE and listened to 1 of their tracks and like it. I then went and downloaded the Album and loaded it into my IPOD. I like their music and will listen to them when I am doing my walks or riding my motorcycle. Thanks for the freebee and a new group to listen to.

Lap Band Surgery two weeks before wedding?
texasweb replied to Mariasha's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think you are pushing it. I don't think you can consemate the marriage on your wedding night. You need to enjoy the beginning of your marriage and not have this to change the arora of the time. -
If you do, let us know so we can sue for false advertisement.

BCBSNJ (horizon direct access) how long for approval
texasweb replied to daco525's topic in Insurance & Financing
If BCBS NJ knows that your company is dropping their contract, then you will not get approval in time to have the surgery before the insurance is dropped. Do you know who they may change to? -
Thanks .. just downloaded it

Submitting all info to insurance tomorrow

I used Dr DeWitt also. I had my surgery on Feb 6th. I really like him and his staff. They have been wonderful. My out of pocket at the hospital was greater than I expected, but that is not Dr DeWitt's fault. I go hopefully for my 1st fill on Feb 19th. -
I had BCBS-IL until June 2008. My employer switched to Anthem BC of CA. I was approved with no requirement for a supervised weight loss program with Anthem. I am so happy that my employer switched. I hope everything goes well.

I love the EAS Rich Dark Chocolate. It is available at Walmart for $4.97 for 4 11 ounce drinks with 17g per carton.
