Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

Yasmina: oh yeah, the adult only pool was a definite plus!!! Susansilver: We're fine.....though getting sad at the thought of soon being apart for a week...we aren't away from each other very often and we like it that way! (yes, we still like, as well as love each other!). So, that will be difficult. Yes, this trip will be a "holiday" of sorts for me....though not as "carefree" as I would normally like since I'll be with my parents! LOL I leave on Wednesday. The floor is done except for the "threshold"....(where the floor meets the carpet in the living room).... Mr Yoda will get on their case about that today....better for him to be the "ENFORCER" than me! You're doing GREAT by the way! Keep it up! -

The HI has a medical rate if you are staying overnight in an actual hospital. Otherwise, they have a special "negotiated" rate with TLBC (you have to tell them it is with TLBC) of something like $134.....so it is a wee bit cheaper than the reg. rate. The CAA and Gov't rate (if you qualify) are likely cheaper. The Delta Chelsea...funny...that is where we stayed 2 weekends ago for when we went to the Theatre....I've stayed there twice now and have yet to be impressed by the service. That is also where we had the most terrible dinner!!! We didn't get the "nice" beds. :phanvan -
WOW....okay, so I just checked out Dr. Tin's website to see what it was all about and they advertised two types of cosmetic surgery I've never heard of before: 1. Labial reduction (OMIGAWD!!!! Are women really needing/wanting this??????). 2. Hymen Restoration...!!!!!! This one KILLS ME!!!!!!! oh hello doc...I wanna be a virgin again, plse restore my hymen!!!!! If my hymen is restored, does that mean I'm a virgin ??? I guess some men and some cultures will think so. ROTFLMAO!!!! I'm sorry, I know some may think I'm being insensitive, but this just SLAYS me!!!!!

hmmmm I completely agree with Jachnut's philosophy. Having the band does not mean you have to avoid certain foods entirely. For those of you who are on her case for eating a breadstick and a piece of pizza (oooooh, the horror!!!)....give her a break. It doesn't mean she eats like that all the time.....she can have a breadstick or a piece of pizza if she wants!!! Yeesh! Yeah, it is a lifestyle change....but it also isn't supposed to be about total deprivation!!!! As long as the healthier choice is made more often than not...there is no harm. I also agree with Jachnut....it was a victory. Hmmmmm....glass half empty or half full?! Don't worry 'bout it bubbles! -
I know Wheezy....ridiculous, eh? I guess that is the price we are paying for the Green Xmas!?? This time last year, I was in shorts and we had to take the cover off our A/C !!! However...the forecast for the Island is very good next week (+16 ish!).

Java...your best avenue would be to post your query in the "General" thread of the site. You will reach a bigger audience there rather than in this specific thread on the canuck site. In fact I'm sure there are already several threads with regards to this issue ....use the search key and something will likely come up!

true...but oh soooo goood it is! -
nah, this isn't a business trip Wheezy....so I can tell ya! LOL. Off to visit the folks who live on V. Island.....!
-
Why...whatever do you mean, Wheezy??? :paranoid
-
As long as you are losing 1-2 lbs a week, you don't need a fill.
-
Yeah Wheezy.....what did ya get us??!! :biggrin1:
-
Of course each clinic will vary and what is currently a 4 week wait for surgery time can be 6 to 8 weeks later....it all depends on how many people are booking for what time frame. You'd have to contact the respective clinics and inquire re. how long in advance they are booking. I was banded a year ago (TLBC) and had to wait 6 weeks for my date...but that was my choice (my schedule); I could have had it within 3 weeks. My husband just had his consult (TLBC) and by the time he has his surgery (4 May) he will have waited 4 weeks since his consult.
-
That is awesome Wheezy!!! That kinda attitude is half the battle!!! Every day is always a new day! Glad you had a great vacation and max relaxed! At least the weather is going to be better on Vancouver Island than it is here in Ontario!!! I leave Wed.

Credible Research Materials On Banding and Related Issues

Yeah....and unfortunately, many go the bypass route because they can't afford the band (or choose not to afford it....I mean...I'm sure most of us don't have $16 grand to through away....we just go into debt for it!). I know a couple of people who got the bypass but who desperately wanted the band. I wish provincial health care would play "catch up" on this issue so that the band can be just as a viable (& covered) option as the bypass. Every research article helps point the gov't in that direction. -
Congrats Donna....you will soon be on your way!!!!!:clap2: Yes, Dr. Yau is terrific!!!
-
Yeah...Neal...now THERE's an INCREDIBLE success story for ya!! He completely BLOWS me away!!! I know he has also inspired Mr Yoda.

PM comin' your way Robgoblin!
-
It WILL be very hard robgoblin (I did it for 14 days) but the silver lining is that it is THE hardest part of the whole journey (at least for me!). Everything else is a piece of cake....so it is kinda kewl to get the hardest part over right at the start!
-
Mr. Yoda's is at 2:00....I think they scheduled him for the last one of the day, as he has to stay overnight at the clinic (Sleep apnea)...(I had to do that too). Who is accompanying you? I will likely see them in the waiting room.

Great idea Cat! -
Hey....robgoblin...what time is your surgery on the 4th?
-
Yes Susansilver.....you ARE an enabler!!! LOL. That's okay though....we all are to some extent.....there is still a toilet paper fairy in our house.....! :kiss
-
Gaffer....if you like the cactus cuts....have you tried the perogie pizza??? TO DIE FOR!!!!!! and spiiiiiiicy!!!! YUMMMI!!! I still have it sometimes; order the individual and I can eat (slowly) two pieces and bring the rest home. Now, before you all freak out at me being able to eat "two pieces"....the Individual BP pizza is extremely small.....ONE piece can be eaten by a "normo" in like two or 3 bites....so two pieces is about 12 bandster bites! Now MY mouth is watering!
-
Oh, completely agree with you on that Doddie!

Personally, I can't say enough about the TLBC post-op care. But...lets face it...as adults we have to be proactive....if you have a problem post-op...you have to be sure you contact them....they won't magically know and contact you!! I do know that they recently hired a "Chief of Staff" type person....so there may have been a change period going on etc. ....and I'm not an out-of province patient but nor am I living in TO, either!
