I'm a big time side and tummy sleeper!!! I had no problem sleeping on y side after about a week and my tummy after two weeks....for the first week, I just tried to train myself to sleep on my back. If I rolled over, the discomfort would wake me up to remind me to go on my back! The only problem I had with bed sleeping was getting out of it in the mornings!!! At least for the first 5 days....hubby had to help me up.
-
Yeah, I agree...and usually they are too "busy" with their own meal to notice!
-
It took me about 3 weeks to feel normal.....of course I was up and about and back to work much sooner than that...but in terms of having all my energy back etc...and mentally/emotionally "normal" (my hubby may big to differ!!) it took longer. So, no worries.....I think you are right on track!!!

*GLARES at Mr. Loriely*..... Not much for poutine but I can scrape the cheese off the fries...*snatches a fry*. Hey Loriely....why don't you get your fill on the 14th when hubby goes for his pre-admission? (unless it is because he is going to the hosp instead?). Yo...Mr. Loriely....*sigh* enjoy the fries while you can, my man!!! Don't worry...I DO have fries.....(& chips) just not too many of them; those days are gone....*wwwhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa*

Hey Canada Sunshine..... yup...it is a personal type of challenge wherein you set your own personal goals/challenges for the month of August....scroll back and you'll see a few!!
-
It sounds like popcorn is for you what chips is for me, Buffie!!! LOL...WE CAN DOOOOO THIS!!!! No popcorn for you and no chips for me for the whole month of August!!!!! *chanting*....we can do this we can do this!

Hey Loriely....I have a little bit of restriction....but not enough and plus it seems to have loosened since I got the fill (the day we met). My next one is 25 Aug (at hospital under fluro)...so I'm just trying to be super aware until then or it would be easy to overeat (though not like before without this fill). How you doin'? All healed up now? When is Mr. Loriely's date?
-
Hey Buffie...no words of wisdom or advice here....just understanding... (((((hugz)))))
-
Really....I think you are doing okay, Cloe. You are eating sensibly and healthy. Don't forget (as my post op nurses remind me) ...the "1 cup" of food is "after it is chewed"...so visualize a "chewed up to mush" cup of food....that is actually a LOT! For instance...your supper...if you chewed that all up to mush and spit it the entire contents into a cup....that prob is not more than a cup. (not that you would do this of course.....just visualize!!! LOL). Plus...you ARE still losing....so I actually wouldn't fret about it ....seriously, I think things are good. PLUS, it is better if you can eat some of that stuff (ie. bread, corn) and not have any bad side effects. If you get hungry in the evening (ie. around 8:00) just have a pear/apple (or half of it) cut up into pieces (I do that sometimes)....or a yogurt with some granola on it.....that will fill ya up and satisfy ya. All that to say....really you are doing GRRRRREAT!
-
OH...I also forgot to say....I also have oatmeal at work sometimes for lunch. (I bring the packages...and I always have some milk in my fridge at work to mix with it).
-
Cloe.... Generally I have a Protein shake in the morning (sometimes I blend in a 1/2 of a bananna). I should probably eat "real food" but this is quicker for me as I get ready for work. This is normally around 7:15 am. If it is a wknd, I usually have a "real" Breakfast. For example, today (off work today) I had 2 pancakes that hubby made for me. Other times he might make me an omelette or another egg type breakfast. When at work I don't generally have a morning snack (I do if I'm home). At lunch (at work) I'll have something like a "lunchable" (the one with crackers/cheese/turkey) or Beans (ie. canned beans...I love 'em). If at home (ie. wknd) I'll have something else like maybe a wrap or a quesadilla (sp?) with grilled chicken. An afternoon snack may consist of yogurt or pudding. Supper is completely varied, so I can't really give you a synopsis there. And...yes...I do have chips sometimes...But this is my last time ...no chips for me for August due to my personal Candadian goal challenge!.

Good thing you clarified that....'cause ya just KNOW that Argon and Cloe would have had a field day with THAT one!!! *grinz*
-
LOL @ Cloe.....sorry girl...I was only allowed $200 limit at the border and even then I had to LIE through my teeth!!! LOL. So, no treats for you!!!!

My best buy was an awesome deal at JC Penneys. There was an awesome pair of Levis on sale from $48 to $9..!!! Yes...$9!!!! It even had a cooool belt with it. Anyways, so at the cash, they rang up for $5!!!! OMIGAWD, eh????!!!!! "START THE CARRRRRRRRRR"!!!! The best part...the jeans were a size 18!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO! Of course, I would have to lie on the bed and suck in big time to try to do the zipper up!!! LOL...but I bought them so I can start wearing them in the Fall. I am confident that they will do up no problem by mid Sep. (I'm in size 20 now.....sooo....). I also got some new underwear/bras at Target....mine were too big!! LOL. At TGIFs I had (forget the name of it so I will describe it) grilled chicken slices on a bed of angel hair Pasta mixed with bruschetta mix and then drizzled with balsamic vinegar. YUUUUUUMY. Of course I only ate about 1/2 of it, but that is okay! I'm learning that it is okay to leave behind food that you buy!! LOL

Dunno what to say Jude....definitely talk to your post op care givers...if you haven't already. (see what they have to say) In the meantime...don't fall off the wagon....it will only make you feel worse! BE STRONG!!
-
Okaaaay, back now!!! I think we bought out Target...but oh well!!!! Had a great time.... However, we got pulled over my customs going INTO the US....and they searched our car. First time that has ever happened to me. They said we were "randomly picked by the computer" WHATEVER!!!! Anyways, we pulled over, got out of the car and they only spent 5 mins searching...sorta half-heartedly. Not like we had anything to hide anyways!!! haha....(at least it wasn't like when I vacationed in Columbia and on my way home, the Columbian military searched the entire contents of my bag...even stuck their fingers into my noxzema jar....grosss....keep it, thanks!). Coming back to Canada was a breeze.... Anyways....as I said, we had a great time....I had a WONDERFUL meal at TGIFridays.... Visited the inlaws on the way home and that went well also.
-
Kim...the only reason we are "further" is because we started before you!!
-
yup, I agree with what everyone else said. Bottom line, though you likey will lose during the pre-op; that isn't the goal....even if you don't lose lb wise, your liver will still be in better shape!
-

ANOTHER fill on Tuesday..why I am not feeling much restriction?
Yoda replied to Buffie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yo back Mandi!!! Just got home late last night...will tell more on my buffalo thread when I get there!! haha. Can't go till 25th Aug cause this time the doc wants to do it under fluro at the hospital to see whassssup in there (remember my fill saga?)....so....c'est la vie! -
Hiya Cloe... Maybe you are hungry later in the day/night because you aren't eating much throughout the earlier part of the day? My doc told me that THE most important thing was to eat "regular" food (ie. not soft food only) and to eat 3 meals a day (at regular hrs) (+ Snacks of course). He said "even if you aren't hungry, eat you meal when you are supposed to"....he explained that otherwise, you get too hungry later in the day and you will eat too much. This seems to be like what he was describing...what is happening to you, I mean. So give that a whirl!

ANOTHER fill on Tuesday..why I am not feeling much restriction?
Yoda replied to Buffie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Buffie....I have a 10cc band and currently have 5. I do need another fill but can't get it until 25 Aug.....so just doing as best as I can until I have the fill to "help" me along! Good luck/ -
My thoughts on me... I can in all honestly say that I would never EVER cheat on my husband. I cheated on my first husband (I got married at 21 and was only married for 3 yrs...but no...that is not why the marriage ended) and I also cheated in several other relationships after that. That is why, for me, I can in all honesty say that I will never do it on Mr. Yoda. Why? because for the first time ever, I am complete and I don't even have the desire to be with another man....let alone the thoughts (whereas I used to before Mr Yoda came along). That is because Mr. Yoda is so obviously the "one" for me and so the desire is not there. Even more importantly, (again, unlike my past) I would never ever ever ever ever do ANYTHING to consciously hurt Mr. Yoda; I would never be able to live with myself or with the hurt I would have caused him. Really though, that is one of the reasons I know that I am, in fact, with my soulmate...well...that and that our toes fit together perfectly like keys!
