WOW!!! You look AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOME CLOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you soooo much for sharing those! :clap2: :clap2: Your progress is terrrrific!!!! Okay....on another note: that is amazing info about the lambs, and ewes and rams. HOLY CRAP....I"m learning a lot here (not being sarcastic). Happy rams??!! I GUESS SO!!!!! Man, they must have like an unlimited production of ram sperm goin' on!!! I gotta admit, I didn't even know a male sheep was CALLED a ram. I thought a ram was a type of mountain goat. huh....and almost right in my own backyard! Can't wait to see photos of those lambies!!!!!

anyone from whitehorse on here????
Yoda replied to andreerichards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Opium will do that to ya cloe. I keep tellin' ya to stay away from that stuff! Ya, we moved around a lot...that's what happens when your family is on the run from the law! -
Oh Cloe....lets face it, your guts weren't "normal" in the first place!!!
-
oh and Green....wherebout are you from? Are you in Ontario?
-
Hey Green....nahhh you don't need to introduce yourself....just post away on any thread ya want! I agree with Cloe...I still go to the other ones to get info if required (not as much as when I was pre-op)...the search button is handy too. I was banded at TLBC as well. Next Thurs! That is great! It is normal to be excited and nervous so don't worry about that. I'm sorry you don't have more support..that is part of the reason I didn't really tell anyone. (just Mr. Yoda...obviously and my parents who live far far far away!) Anyways....don't worry about the fact "they" aren't supportive of your decision....the only one that you need to worry about is yourself (& your husband of course!). You are doing it for YOU not them! Make sure you actually track your weight....it will help a lot to measure your progress...in terms of motivation. Just make sure you try not to weigh yourself more than once a week (because you aren't used to it, you may only want to do it once a month even!). Also, I found it VERY helpful to take measurements in inches of my chest, waist, hips, right thigh, right calf and right bicep. Because even if the lbs do down slow or stall, you will likely still see a loss in inches and that is highly motivating. I take those measurements once a month (along with photos of my nakedness!). I find it very helpful. Mr Yoda does this along with me. GOOOOOD LUCK!!!!! Are you on a pre-op diet? If not...yay you!! If so...keep it up, only one more week left!

Hey y'all see that lil' green guy in the front row with shades (in Irish's post above!)? That's me, man!!! Oh yeah, and the pink one stickin' out it's tongue...that is Cloe. Naturally, the annoying orange one next to me (trying to kiss me on the cheek, I think) is Argon!!! LOL...

Hiya Green and welcome to the Canuck Threads! :canada: :canada: :canada: :welcome2: So, when, where and by whom are u getting banded? Don't worry about the fills....I actually had a problem with one of my fills but despite my problem, I'm not worried and it truly isn't that bad.....a pinch is worse! I've had 4 of 'em now. Piece of cake!! MMMmmmm piece of cake!!! :hungry: oops sorry...got off topic there! Anyways, welcome...and you are doing the right thing by doing as much research and getting informed as much as you can in advance!

anyone from whitehorse on here????
Yoda replied to andreerichards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, but I lived in Yellowknife as a kid!! Close enough and not current.....but what the hey!!! Good luck.....it might be like looking for a needle in a haystack! -
I learned a long time ago that u can only allow yourself to be pulled into so many directions..... gotta do what's good for you and yours!

I got my package today!!! It came from Indiana. Thank you very much Tribon (Tricia!). I got the cutest (& super soft) teddy bear that you can record a voice on and play it back (I expected to hear a recording from you Tricia but all I got was sort of like "office noises"). It will be great for when I go away on business; Mr. Yoda said he could record a message for me on it, I can take the bear with me and then won't miss him as much! So, it will come in very handy! Oh, and the bear has a cute lil' postage stamp emblem with a rose and the word "Love" on it on its chest. I also got a framed flower photo with a caption that reads: "The best healing therapy is friendship and love". And an Indianapolis Colts keychain. I apparently have Mr. Tribon to thank for that!! Mr. Yoda also passes on his thanks! LOL So, again....thank you Tribon from Indianpolis!

Yeah, I hear ya on this one. Working for the Federal Gov't, we have ALL types of charities and campaigns that are always coming our way....give here, give there etc...and then of course there are the charities that come knockin' at your door or calling on the phone. It gets frustrating and disturbing. I have always refused to get caught up in it. I have my own charities that I support for my own personal reasons and IMHO it is nobody's business (ie. at work etc) about it. So, my standard response is a strong yet kind, "no thank you, my support goes to different various charities and I'm all tapped out with those". It just gets to be too much sometimes. I know it can be tough for some who may perceive that they will be disadvantaged somehow in the workplace if they don't participate though...if that is the case, then HR should be talked to about the way this is all occuring.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yoda replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cloe: Mr. Yoda pretty much says that is the cure for EVERYTHING!!! LOL *rolls eyes* Yeah...I'm not venturing on those threads; I made one or two benign comments on them to express my displeasure at their behaviour but then high tailed it outta there. Immature and juvenile to say the least. Some folks have wayyyyy too much time on their hands and are obviously substituting LBT for a "real life"...although I would like to think that in "real life" they wouldn't behave that way. If they did, perhaps they ARE better off "living" on LBT then out there where we would have to deal with them in reality!! LOL EH!!! As I said, I like our sandbox better! :canada: :canada: -
LOL. Who needs matching tatoos?
-
It is different for everyone. Despite it being harder work with the band, the other surgeries were not an option for me due to the increased risk; I wasn't prepared to leave Mr. Yoda behind for something like that. As for your nervous feelings....all normal!
-
what type of heavier protein type foods do you recommend Cloe? (I can use help here too!).

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yoda replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
More Yoda Yammerin's.... okay....so I didn't go to work today...not feeling too well. Well, that is an understatement...I am actually having the cramps from hell today. &&%%$##$%&@%$#@ Anyways....it is amazing what leftover demerol from one's surgery will do for cramps!!! Yeeeehaaa! Can you say over-medicate!!! Hey....I know it is like hitting a tac with a sledge hammer but whatever works!!!! (point to newbies: save some pain medication for possible later usage!). Anyways.....downfall to being home and not at work: there is a whole freakin' kitchen full of food here. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK. I am NOT hungry but I WANT WANT WANT WANT to eat. WTF is up with that? I don't know if it is because I'm merely home and have access or if it is because of the TOM. Not sure. So, I just munched on a turkey pepperette trying to pretend it was a cheezy. (by the way...surprise surprise!! It didn't work!). So, what have I done with my time today? ....well, I watched some TV, came off and on LBT to check things out, watched more TV, and am reading the premiere edition of the HELLO CANADA magazine. (and I read the CAA magazine). I also made a marinade for a pork tenderloin we are going to have this evening. Mr Yoda will do it on the BBQ when he gets home from work (at which he would have cooked all day....am I mean or what??!) (naaah, he loves to cook!). Anyways....I guess I'll go roam the cupboards again and see if there is anything I can stuff into my mouth that won't make me experience any catholic guilt (and I'm not even catholic!....but man do I get the guilt!). Another WTF??!!!!! I'll leave you with a "Yoda Yuk-Yuk": Why do lepers like potato chips? Because they can use the back of one another's heads as dips! (okay okay okay, I know it is gross!!!! But I'm obsessing about chips right now!). (lo and behold I don't want chips right now because of that joke!! hmmm I may be onto something here!). Besides, I know this joke will be right up the alley of my fellow Canucks!! heheheheeeheh *skips away to read more of magazine* -
That'll be a nice b'day present Cloe!!! Of course, make sure that Mr. Cloe knows that you expect something else along with that loss!!!!! Preferably something wrapped in pretty paper with a big bow and ribbon on it! Don't leave it to chance....you know how they are!!!
-
Sure WanttoLose but the minute you don't play nice we're hitting you on the head with the pail and booting your arse outta here! Cloe: owieeeee *throws sand in your eyes* Kattie: ahhhh, that happened to Mr. Loriely as well...he had his done in hosp. it TO. Who are your docs?
-
My weigh day is Sat so I'm giving myself until Sat! I'll let ya know whether I reached my 8 lbs!! How did everyone else do?
-
The fill adds saline to the band, making it tighter around your stomach...causing more restriction. You need to get it done as often as necessary to achieve the "right amount" (ie. the sweet spot) of restriction (this will vary for every individual). You know you need it when you aren't loosing an AVERAGE of 1-2 lbs per week while following all the "bandster rules".
-
Hi Kattiegirl....where in Canada are you getting banded? (assuming it is in Canada!). Ummmm....does it get easier? Yeah, it does. But then it gets harder!!! LOL For me it did anyways. But, I finally have a good amount of restriction and so it is getting a bit easier again! Keep it up....I know the pre-op diet is difficult but well worth it in the end! I just kept telling myself if "those other people" can do it, so can I, dammit!!! oh yeah, and Welcome to the Canuck Threads!! (we play nice here in our lil' sandbox!). :canada: :canada: :canada: :canada:

^ 5 SuziD !!!

*shakes head in disgust*
-
Hey Wheezy: yup...re. the stuck feeling; that is the band doing its job right now. Oh, I HEAR ya about the grumbly belly; it still does that though not as bad as after surgery. Ignore the pain in the arse!! It is just whinin' at ya. Eventually it'll quiet down and learn to shut the HELL up!!! LOL
-
I don't think you ever really "know" FOR SURE. But, as Tired Ol' Man said...there was not much else left for me. You are doing the correct thing by reseraching the heck out of it and getting all perspectives so you know what you are getting into. It IS work and as long as you know that and accept the challenges you will face....it is all good. Regrets? No....nothing big. Because I'm still on a learning curve, I sometimes regret not being able to eat that WHOLE bag of chips or whatever but logically I khow that is just craziness and so...no, I have NO regrets. I love my progress so far and it is just the beginning! Anyways, do the research; check out the other threads under "general" and "support" (but be SURE to ignore the childish juvenile threads....you don't need to see the freaks arguing or fighting over the STUPIDEST things....just read the helpful ones!). Good luck in your decision....only you can know your path!
