Yeah, I jokingly tried to have Kathy tell Mr Yoda that I couldn't have sex for six months!! It didn't work! LOL. Real answer: anytime you want as long as you feel "up to it". In other words, the next day is okay if you want.

Don't worry Lila...it WILL get better. Do the popsicle thing (oh and I also interspersed them with fat free/sugar free fudgsicles) AND drink juice (ie. apple juice) throughout the day. Drink/suck on popsicles constantly. Okay...here is what I do to telemarketers and I find it VERY effective. When they call, I say "oh, great, just one moment please, I will be right back". I then put the phone down and DO NOT come back. I go about my business, watch TV, continue talking with my hubby etc.....eventually of course, they hang up!!!! hehe. Better they hang up after waiting a long period of time for you to come back than for you to hang up on them. They'll get pissed and likely won't call back if this happens too many times. When I'm feeling "nasty"....I just keep saying "hello? hello? hello? anyone there? hello?". It's hilarious. Of course they eventually hang up.
  4. "Hello, my name is Lila and I am addicted to scales". MIGAWD...you are CRAZY girl!!!!! LOL

    Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of people....even a lot of doctors don't even KNOW about the lapband. For instance, my obygn who I see for PCOS...didn't know about it and was stunned that they did this. He was interested though and I gave him all the info for his brother; as he said it is something that maybe his brother should look into. It is sad really...because if the docs don't know about it, how can they adequately explain all the options to a patient of theirs who may perhaps like to undergo bariatric surgery....ya know?

    Argon's Activities

I completely agree with Wheezy. Mandi...have Dan tell him that it won't work out if the g/f comes to your place on the wknd (even every other wknd)....that the apart. isn't made for 4 people ....so he should go to Fredericton to see her at her place. Also that way...it gives the 3 of you a break from living together throughout the week if you know you at least have your wknds as private Mandi/Dandi time. But this has to be discussed NOW before he moves in....ya know...so everyone is on the same page. Good luck with it all.
  10. That is great Maria; you really are doing awesome!

Lila...what I did postop while I was hungry was I sucked on popsicles. I got the Delmonte fruit sugar free ones and every time I got the growlies I would go get one and suck on it. It seemed to help me. So, you can always try that to keep the hunger at bay.

Hey Maria, I'm curious....do your fellow "Tops" people know about your surgery? If so...how did they react to it?

    Leisurely Loriely

HMmmmm I don't get what the problem is. I signed up for that site wayyyy back (before I was banded even) and I was on it immediately (okay, well a few hours). Of course, I haven't been back since about May.....WAAAAY non-user friendly!!!!

    Portions

Hey Green: it twas likely the rice that did ya in. I've heard many bad things about rice and I s'ppose that is the reason I haven't tried it yet since being banded. But I'm not missing it. Cloe: I used the kids plate/fork at the beginning but now I'm pretty much using the regular size plate but not putting a whole lot on it. I figure I can go back for more should I want it (actually, that hasn't happened yet!). Sometimes I use a side plate if what we're having doesn't require a lot of "room". I too am also trying to put smaller portions on my plate....I think I have a handle on it; though sometimes I still leave stuff on my plate. I know, I know...it is tough though, ain't it? I mean, it is a HUGE mind set change. Though I think I'm doing well "eating slowly"....it still feels weird when I am still sitting at the table trying to get through my meal; it brings back too many vibrant memories of when I was a kid at the supper table and either didn't like something or just plain didn't want to eat anymore and yet my parents would force me to sit there and keep eating. *sigh*. How little they knew back then! So, I guess the inner child in me feels like she is in trouble when I'm still sitting there chewing away. Weird.
  16. That's ok Cloe; we knew what you meant *rolls eyes* :)

HOLY CRAP!!! Speaking of progress....lookit YOU go Maria!!!!!! YOWZERS. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  19. Hey Mandi....it'll happen with Dan (the altering eating habits)...just don't push him ...be sure to only manipulate him in a covert way! haha. Seriously though, it'll happen....it is AWESOME that you will join a gym together. Really, how kewl is that? You will have a built in work out partner and you can motivate one another, ya know? Once he joins the gym and starts to see little changes, he'll be more motivated to "eat better". As for you....yeah, it is hard to notice the difference/changes in ourselves; I agree. Take photos and compare to your befores.....that should do the trick. As for your last comment: I'm just teasin' ya! I'm really not here! :bandit

    Canadian Bandster Bash

Yeah mandi...that is apparently the price PLUS hotel (approx $110/night for hotel)!!!! I think it is $150 for a guest to attend the conf. too. I haven't seriously looked into it and don't think I'm going but I thought I'd pass the info on. Wow...see...I didn't really look...is it really $70 for the meal???OMIGAWD....hellllooooo...bandsters here!!! LOL

    Canadian Bandster Bash

My bad!! LOL Thanks for keeping me in check.. Here is the link! http://www.canadianbandsterbash.com/index.htm :paranoid
  22. I'm sure you'll notice a big difference in the numbers Mandi; be sure to let us know. Also...I would just like to state Mr Yoda's stats....because I am so dang proud of him. He is not banded but has voluntarily (& gladly) altered his lifestyle (specificially his eating lifestyle!) to coincide with mine. As a result, he has lost 25 lbs and 17.5 inches since my surgery. Yay him! :clap2: :clap2: (oh...and don't worry....the 17.5 inches lost does not include any "key" areas!!!) *chuckles* :humble:

    A Canadian "NSV" Thread

    LOL Thanks Wheezy! Mmmmmmmm.....cake! :hungry:
  24. Hey fellow Canucks! :canada: :canada: I thought I'd turn to ya for a question I have. This is mainly directed at those who are already banded and have been eating "regular food" for awhile now. So, here is the thing....I've noticed that every time (for the last couple of weeks) when I eat dinner (this doesn't happen at breaky or lunch; just dinner)....I get a headache when I'm about half way done. Just out of the blue...WHAM...headache. Nothing severe; just irritating. Doesn't matter what I have for dinner....it seems to happen. It goes away after a bit and it doesn't get bad enough to take something for it or anything. I just find it odd and am wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Comments? By the way...y'all are doing awesome!!! :clap2: :clap2:
  25. Ummmmmmm....no one. freak? who said freak? It was actually HIPPIE FREAK!!!
