*not sure where they thought the confusion was* no confusion here. Gave site for info is all. Bottom Line, it is still $70 for dinner if you don't reg. for the conference.
  3. Yeah? See that is just plain weird, eh Neenagh? Why are we doing that (not doing it!) when we did it before?!!!
  4. Okay.... hmmmmm I'm having trouble for some reason with my Water intake. Not physical trouble..... Pre-op and up until my last fill I very easily drank at least 8 cups of water a day. It was especially easy at work while at my desk (a lil' harder on the wknds away from work). I kept ticky marks to track my water intake so I knew where I was at and how much more I needed. It really did the trick and helped me stay on the water intake track. I just now noticed that since my last fill (25 Aug) I have sooooo not been keeping up with the water intake. I did notice ...(at work) that I wasn't keeping on top of it...and did try; albeit half heartedly I guess. And it has gotten worse and worse and worse. I noticed today I only drank about one cup of water at work. WTF??? I think it started because I was "scared/anxious" to drink too much after my last fill.....and then....I don't know if it became habit to not drink it or if I was experiencing difficulty (& maybe just didn't recognize it?)? In any event I've GOT TO GET A GRIP on my water intake and drink more of it.....like I was before. I have put this as a second goal for myself on our Canuck Challenge for Oct. All that to say....has anyone else noticed their water intake has drastically been reduced for one reason or another (even if subconsciously?).
  5. Okay....I have another goal too. Drink 8 cups of Water a day...minimum. Very difficult lately (see Yoda's Yammerin's!).

Thanks for the vibes Cloe! Yes, I drink tea...but not often. When I do, I have a really nice spearmint tea I like. Overall, I have a problem drinking hot liquids (ie. coffee, tea, hot chocolate, neocitron)....dunno why....always have. But as I said, if the tea gets cool enough I will drink it....but there is a short window of opportunity before it is cold and thereby icky!
  7. Hiya, Okay, yup...I've read about the golf ball feeling. I got restricted on Thurs. Off and on (more on for the last day) I've had this odd feeling in the back of my throat area (& maybe a wee bit lower) like something is "there" (but I know nothing is actually there). It's not pleasant....not painful per say but certainly discomforting. I could understand if I ate something and then this feeling resulted (well, not completely understand; but a lil' bit)...but I'm getting this feeling even when I don't eat. For instance I've been up this morning for 2 hrs now (haven't eaten yet) but yet I "feel" this feeling (whether it is a stuck feeling or golf ball feeling, I don't know). Can anyone explain to me what this is? and will it go away? Just doesn't seem right to me.

    Stuck Feeling

Hey Loriely....perhaps you should e-mail Kathy and see what she says. Re. the popcorn thing...I can't recall where I read it...but remember reading somewhere (official) that popcorn was a really big "no-no". It didn't bother me much nor did I think much of it at the time cause I'm so not a popcorn fan!
  12. Well...you know...the way things are goin' ...I wanna make sure it is an ACHIEVABLE goal!

    Pre-Op Problems

Oh yeah....the vast majority of us went thru the same thing....no worries....it'll change once you are banded!! I lost count of how many "last suppers" I had! LOL Looking back, I'm glad I did!
  14. I'm aiming for one pound! I say go big or go home! :rolleyes
  15. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I agree. Have you seen Nick on CSI (the original) the last 2 episodes....yummy indeed with the head shave!
  16. That brought back a memory Wheezy....about 2 yrs ago...I pretty much did the same thing. It looked so easy when my hairdresser did it; I though....maaaan, how hard can it be? Plus we figured we would save 10 bucks for his cut (which he only got every 8 weeks or so) (WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!). So, we bought the kit (which would have paid for his haircuts for a year anyways!)....I tried it once...DISASTER. Needless to say the kit now sits in the basement somewhere not being used...and we happily go to my hairdresser. I was too appalled to tell her what we had done. And....who was I trying to save 10 bucks???? He's worth it!!! LOL
  17. Update on my weekly weigh in: down 1 lb. I looked at my chart....and this month...I have lost a grand total of 2 lbs. WTF?! Will I EVER reach that 50 lb milestone?!! Yeah Yeah....Oct is another month. (she says thru gritted teeth). :guess
  18. Welcome back Wheezy....glad u had a great time and that the weather didn't stop ya!
  19. Everyone is different and needs varying amounts of recuperating depending on how you react to surgery (any type of surgery) and the anesthetic. I assume you have a non physically demanding job (ie. desk job)? If so, you may be ok to go back on Mon but you certainly won't feel like yourself. I took 10 days off....but that is because I could and I just wanted a lot of extra time (& also didn't tell anyone and didn't want them to notice anything was up). Could I have gone back sooner? Sure. Did I want to? Nope.....so am happy I took lots of time off.
  20. You absolutely do NOT have to tell them. It doesn't mean you are "lying". In ANY professional job...you are not obligated to tell the "why" of needing any type of sick leave (it is NOBODY's business if you choose for it not to be). Just tell them you are having a medical procedure. End of story. Of course, they will ask if it is serious (cause they will likely be worried) and you can say "no". If they incessantly bug you and you feel required to tell them something; merely tell them it is to have a hiatal hernia taken out (it is the same type of lap surgery with the same type and time of recuperation). Do what is RIGHT for you....regardless of what anyone else tells you or advises you.

Lila has a good point Mandi. Where were you pricing it from? Fredericton? What if you flew from Montreal? (or Halifax?). And....don't fly on a Fri/Sat/Sun cause airfare is generally more expensive then. Naaah, flight will definitely be more expensive over Xmas. Also....you may want to think about calling a travel agent (some Sears stores have 'em and they are usually good to deal with) CAA is also a good choice if you are a member there. If not..think about joining..... You can call them or drop in and see them and tell them you are looking for THE cheapest way home and what can they do for you? They have more resources at their disposal and are also sometimes aware in advance of upcoming sales......I find that I usually get a better deal this way....as I know for SURE that they've checked all avenues. As for the other dilemma...yeah, I can understand you don't want to leave Dan "alone" at Xmas and plus you want to also BE with him at Xmas. But....if you get your ticket paid for....perhaps the two of you can pool your money together (not sure how you handle your finances now....ie...together or apart)....and perhaps afford to purchase one ticket (ie. for him)? Good luck though....but don't give up.

aaaaah, THAT explains it Lila......me thinks Green is a weeeee bit confused!!! :rolleyes
  24. On a happier note, here is Yoda's Yuk Yuk: Mrs. Mandi was famous for her Boston Bean Soup. When her secret was asked for, she replied that used only 239 Beans. The reporter queried, "how come only 239?" Mrs. Mandi replied, "cause one more would make it too farty."
