Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

Okay fellow Canucks.... as you may have seen, I'm off to the in-laws on Sat for TGiving weekend. And....as luck (?) would have it, my (*&%$#$%&%$# PD started this afternoon. *sigh*. I have a fibroid and with that wonderful being brings a lot of pain and a flow like you would NOT believe (I won't even go there! Just know that Niagara Falls is a trickle in comparison if you get my meaning!). For me, (pain and flow wise) the worst happens on days 2,3, and 4....right smack in the middle of being at the in-laws. %$#$%^%$$#$%^&^&%# SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT FAIR to have to deal with them both at the same time!!!!! *vent vent vent* sorry...just feeling sorry for myself. :help: -
Angel Bear: just don't look at the needle. It's bark is worse than its bite. And if needles bother you, it might freak you out to look down and see the needle just sitting there..sticking out of your port. My doc leaves it there sometimes while he reaches for something or wiggles it around to make sure it is in etc.....advice if needles bug you: don't look at it for the whole procedure...and likely all you'll feel is lil' pin prick. Truly....with the "dreadful" experiences I've had with my fills.....I can honestly say that pain wise....it really is nothing. You'll do great.

The other day while shopping at A&E (Addition Elle) I was informed that they have "changed" their points system. Apparently people weren't getting their gift certs. in the mail as they should have been when they got to a certain level of points (I know I never did despite prob owning shares in that store by now!!)....so they have re-vamped everything and now it will start "working" the way it was supposed to. Ahem. I asked about all the points that have already been accumulated. And, with a smile, she said, "oh they will be lost, everyone starts over...starts fresh". She said it as if it was a good thing. WTF?????? Nice. Really nice. So, due to THEIR computer (or otherwise) mistakes they do a whole new system and we all lose our points. I dunno 'bout anyone else but I have a bought a LOOOOOOOOT of stuff there over the years; and we all know it ain't cheap. I mean...realistically...how hard would it have been to transfer over your points? F**KIN' ridiculous. Pretty convenient for them, wouldn't ya say? NOT impressed. I won't be shopping there anymore (soon I won't have to anyways!). OOOOH, yeah...and guess what?! They have now started carrying size 12!!!! Size 12????!!!!! C'mon....12 is NOT a plus size. I don't even consider 14 a plus size. But 12???? So, now that means they will carry less REAL plus sizes so that they can accommodate the 12s. What is next? 10s? Soon the normo sizes will take over the A&E store if they continue this trend. WTF? Yes, I WANT to be and strive to be a normo size (cause gawd knows my mental state will never be normo!).....but even when I am normo....there should still be true plus size stores around for everyone else strugglin. Anyways....my shopping vent for today! See whatcha started Green? :phanvan

Tommy....ur trek to Collingwood will bring you near my place....I'd say wave but we'll be down Burlington way! LOL
-
Good thread. Off to the mother-in-laws house. also there will be the step-dad-in-law and the actual father-in-law and step-mom-in-law. Whew. And the brother-in-law and his wife and child. All one big happy family (?). This happy (?) event will occur in Burlington....so we will be arriving Sat and leaving Sun. The M-I-L will do the cooking but will likely nab Mr Yoda to help (the curse of being a chef). What am I eating? Very little!!! It will be tricky ...none of them know about the surgery (nor will they ever know!)....so I will have to do the "move the food around the plate" bit. When I throw some out they will hopefully just think that perhaps that was my second helping and I merely didn't eat it all!! I'm curious to see is they notice any weight loss. What about you Cloe? You never said.

Hi Yasmina...and yes....welcome to the Canuck Corner. Too bad that the first post to your query misled you....it is quite obvious that person was NOT from Canada....don't get sidetracked from the non-Canadian responses; very different story indeed. No....nobody has been able to have it covered in Canada as far as we know. Good luck in your decision and the process...it is really a small price to pay for your health and a long and happy life! :grouphug:

Yeah Loriely....I drink a lot of crystal light (well I used to drink more of it before my last fill). I really love the strawberry bananna one and the raspberry/cranberry one (I think that is it)....and the lime. I also find them sweet, but I just add in more Water. I actually got Mr Yoda hooked on the single packets....he takes those to work every day. Mind you I haven't been drinking crystal light at work; only at home. I should maybe try to bring some to work. But....unfortunately, like the water situation, I find that I'm not drinking enough of ANYthing....including the crystal light. I didn't do well with it today, either....I think I forgot! I had one bottle at work (I should be having - and used to have- four). -
Hey Cloe....I truly didn't notice that you had thin hair or anything when I met you....I realize I didn't see you during the "before"...but you know what I mean. Do look for the Nioxin; I have heard wonderful things about it and my friend who lost a TON of hair after her bypass had some help with it. It is avail in stores here (ie. Trade Secrets and other hair product stores). But...(& I know easier said than done)....try not to worry about it; it is a small price to pay for the healthier you...and it WILL come back....even better than before!!! As for me....I have noticed some thinning but nothing major. But I have extremely thick hair anyways and I'm always forever getting it thinned out.....
