yeah, pretty much back on the wagon....this week has been a bad week though..... -
Your ticker looks great Doriana...way to go!!! You have to do one for Mr. Doriana as well!

That is FREAKIN' INSANE. Okay, I knew that if you like went through a stop sign in a parking lot, that you can't get a ticket because it isn't "enforceable" in a pkg lot. But to have an "accident" (like in your case) that is completely different. I would not let that lie. Call the cops again and speak to someone else. Call the papers and give them the story. That is so beyond crazy....I'm livid just reading it, so I can imagine how you feel. So....what....if a woman gets raped in the parking lot, there is nothing they can do? If someone breaks into your car and steals your expensive shit, there is nothing they can do? If someone snatches your kid from the parking lot, there is nothing they can do? If some lil' kid is molested in the parking lot, there is nothing they can do? Yeah, sounds stupid....because it IS> Seriously Neenagh, don't let it lie.......FREAKIN' crazy beeeotch...yes, but the cops are being crazier. I'm with Argon on this one. Hunt her down.

Yes, Nisrine is extremely beautiful.....very naturally beautiful indeed. Carol: that is odd.....about Kathy.....I wonder if we are reading too much into it or if something has gone on? -
11 lbs in 7 weeks is NOT slow (let alone very slow)>...it is right on target. 1-2 lbs overall average per week is the target from the band makers.....so you are right there. Plse don't call it slow.....because those that truly ARE losing slowly (ie. less than 1 lbs/week) then feel bad! You are doin' great...don't knock it.

My own personal view is that you DO know right away. However, afterwards....as you live with the band...there are "loose" days and "tight" days. That is my experience, anyways. -
Loriely: how long do your pbs (the pain and slimes etc) last for each episode?
-
Suns: I would highly advise against getting your fill before your trip; if something happens, you are SOL!! Doriana: I had to also stay overnight at TLBC due to sleep apnea....I was actually quite happy to do so....I live 2 hrs north of TO so it was more convenient for me to stay over anyways. Mr Yoda merely stayed at a hotel down the road. Also, that way, I got to have a few pain shots through the night; which beat the demerol in pill form!
-
Very smart to wait for your first fill until after your trip since you are leaving soon after. Wise, indeed, you are! You'll likely have no problem eating anything.....you'll be healed from the surgery (ie. no swelling) and you won't have a fill so you won't have much (if any) restriction....so it will be like you are bandless. Just be careful not to overdo it with the amount of food etc so that you don't unknowingly distend your pouch! Sounds like a FUN trip!
-
That sucks. Sorry for your bad experience. Hope all is okay. (I hate insensitive medical professionals!). I've been "toying" with the idea of having a colonoscopy (since I'm now "over" 40) but that story sure doesn't give me a "warm & fuzzy!"!!!
-
Cloe....$55 for a session? You ARE cheap!! Hmmmmm I've heard that somewhere else about you!!! Wheezy: Ottawa is one of my hometowns.....I loooove St Laurent Mall!! Yeah, you maybe were hungrier than you thought so chewed quicker without realizing it (I've done that too). Until you get a "handle" on things you will have to be careful....the question about how do you handle going to someone's house for dinner? As Elmer Fudd would say, "veeeewwwwwy vewwwwwwy carefuuuuly" If you aren't "sure" you can always fake the "upset tummy" thing and not eat much (if at all)....or pretend! LOL. It won't always be like that though, so don't worry. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I am sooooo damn fortunate....because I have read about so many folks that slime and pb for hours on end...and it sounds like you had a whoozy one wheezy! (LOL)....I have had some wicked painful "stuck" feelings (golfball?) and some slimes wherein I don't know WHERE the hell that much liquid is coming from.....BUT my saving grace is that the longest one has lasted maybe 7 minutes......so how lucky am I?!!!!! WHEW.

Hi Doriana....I was really happy with TLBC....and Nisrine, Kathy (post-op) et al are excellent; I doubt you will be disappointed. You do know that Nisrine had the surgery a few yrs ago, eh? Amazing isn't she?!! Blows me away. I'm sure Loriely will have lots of advice for you since her and Mr. Loriely got banded a few weeks apart! They are doing fabulous! I hope you are getting a price break....too bad it isn't two for one, eh?! LOL There is lots of info on the pre-post op diets in the general and support threads of the site....u can do a search for it too. But yeah, speaking for myself, I had a rough time for the first few days (wicked carb withdrawal symptoms; mainly headaches and GRUMPINESS....ask Mr Yoda!) :phanvan  But I got into the swing of things and did well and ended up losing 16 lbs in the 2 weeks prior to surgery. This made the procedure go that much better for it made my liver more limber (it is moved out of the way for the procedure). I also found the post-op diet difficult (not for the first week though) but I tell ya...having to do the preop diet REALLY helps you be prepared for the post op diet. I know some who didn't have to do a preop diet and they just about died doing the post op....so really....the preop diet is a blessing in disguise!!! Like anything though, you get used to it....and looking back, the postop diet wasn't that bad really....and it is good to follow it, for obvious reasons! No worries....once you are at that stage, we'll help you out; you can come on here and bitch and complain and we'll offer support and you will get LOTS of ideas on how to cope. You can even get them now, like I say by doing searches on the other threads. Congrats to you and your hubby on your decision to be healthier!!! Awesome for you!! (btw, Mr Yoda....who is not banded - and won't be - has lost 28 lbs just by eating better along with me!) Nice added bonus!!! Anyways....welcome to you too.

Hiya and welcome SUNSRETURN! Hope you get lots of useful info form our Canuck Corner. Where in Can. are you from? Tell us a lil' more info about you! The ticker thingy is from www.tickerfactory.com; you can make one and then go to "edit signature" to add it in to your posts. Good luck with your research and journey.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yoda replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okaaaaay, soooooo....I know my band is working! Yesterday I had one of those "I can eat almost anything" days. They are very few and far between since my last fill and never as bad as it was yesterday. I sort of snacked all day yesterday....(not all "good" stuff, either). And, before I knew it I realized how much I had eaten throughout the day and I was like, "whoooooa.....whasssup???". Then, when I got home from work, there was a couple of pieces of chocolate fudge cake (ohmigawd!!!) staring at me. So, I though, well, my band is letting things down today, so why not?! So, I cut off a teeeeensy tiny piece (probably only about a 4 bite "pre-band" piece). It should have taken me about 8 bandster bites to eat it. Well....because I was feeling cocky I ate it in about 4 bites and (in retrospect) I realize I was soooo cocky that I didn't eat it slow or chew chew chew (like I ALWAYS do). Well, yup.... you guessed it. My band so eloquently reminded me that it was there. At first, I was like, "HA" I'm okay.....and about 3 mins later....KABOOOOOOM> Oooooooh, da pain. THANKFULLY, my pain/stuck/golfball/pressure feeling only lasted for about 5 mins and I just hung my head over the bathroom sink and slimed like no tomorrow until I felt better. Yes, I know.....lesson learned. The good from this? Even though sometimes my band may seemingly let "anything" in it will rear it's ugly head and let me know not to take it for granted. I have this love hate relationship with it but despite it slapping me upside the head yesterday (completely my own fault of course) I still love it. Today will be a better day. -
LOL That's funny. Ya, "marriage" is the term that seems paralyze women from the waist down!!! Not meeeee though!!! (ahem, tho Mr. Yoda may disagree!).
-
Ya, unfortunately I crack me up too but I'm not used to having an audience that doesn't heckle me! ('cept Cloe and Mandi....now THEY are hecklers!).
-
Ya, I don't like smoked cheese either....maaaan, I can never keep it lit!!!! Mookie.....you related to Bubba from Forrest Gump? "I know everyding dere is ta know 'bout da cheeeese bidness" LMAO :biggrin1:
-
I didn't see it but I can see how the "transference" may come into play for some people. I know that Mr Yoda is hoping I will instead become addicted to sex. 'scuse the pun....but FAT CHANCE!!!! :heh: :girl_hug:
-
maybe it is just an URBAN LEGEND!!!! LOL
-
Yeah, both myself and Mr. Yoda watched that before I got banded....it really was a big help. I also sent it to my mom to watch; it could explain it a lot better to her than I could. (I don't know if your link is the same one I'm referring to but I'm sure it is the same idea).
-
I can't help ya much Mandi because it has been a long time since I shopped in a "normo" store. I know Old Navy goes up to size 20 in pants! Yay.... If I recall....I agree with Green...most stores go to 16; with some going to 18.
-
Well done Cloe!!! :clap2:
