I understand why though....in our organization (Fed Gov't dep't) you have to put your "harassment" complaint in writing. It is for everyone's benefit, including yours. She will find out anyways, whether you make the "official" complaint in writing or verbally....so just be stong and do what you feel is right (write!)!

Okay, so I saw Roger (yea, we're on a 1st name basis!!) last night at Rama Casino in Orillia. OMIGAWD. A M A Z I N G !!! He still has the silver touch, his voice is MAAAAAHVELOUS and I must say I have seen a LOT (I mean, a sick amount "lot") of concerts in my life and I can say beyond a doubt that I have NEVER seen a performer who looks like he is enjoying himself more on stage, performing for the audience, than he did last night. He had a huge (I counted about 45 people) symphony orchestra accompanying him and near the end he had about a 20 person choir backing him up for 3 to 4 songs. He also had Craig Sharpe (from Cdn Idol) come on (he is mentoring him) and sing a duet with him. How generous and giving of Roger to give Craig a break like that!! It shows a lot about his character. He also was very witty and intelligent....having great banter between songs. Despite the place being packed, it was like he was doing his own show just for me (I'm sure everyone felt the same way!). He was also very healthy looking and you could tell he was "clean" and in no way a user (as you see with a lot of other performers). I have nothing but admiration and respect for the man. It was so much fun!!! I started reallllly liking Supertramp when I was in grade 8, (omigawd.....28 yrs ago!!!) and I never had the chance to see them in concert; this was the next best thing. What a GREAT trip down memory lane for me. He played a few of his "solo" songs but the vast majority was all Supertramp; he had me mesmerized!!! Guess what: stats show that one in ten Canadians own (or owned) the Supertramp "Crime of the Century" album. I know I was certainly one of them. So, he knows Canada has a love affair with him and his former group, that is for sure!! That is an amazing number!!! How many of you had the album (or dare I even say 8-track, cassette tape!!). (Okay, I didn't have the 8 track but I did have the cassette!). oooooops, I really babbled!! Sorry, I didn't mean to make this a big review!! LOL. Just trying to say that I had a great time and REALLY enjoyed his show! SUPERTRAMP rocked!!! .....and still does thru Roger. (Of course, I was NOT a happy camper driving home after midnight thru a FREAKIN' unexpected SNOWSTORM. The valet brought my car around and I had a foot of snow on top of it (no snow at all anywhere when I arrived!). But that is another story! Lets just say that my regular 40 min. drive home took about 100 mins!

I would let her know. You don't even have to come out and tell her in advance...when she starts to talk to you, say "hang on" and pull our your recorder. That is "letting her know". Of course, she'll say "what the...." and you just say, "unfortunately, due to your unprofessional, rude and erratic behaviour, it has come to this in order to protect myself" (or something like that!). If THAT doesn't make her think twice and change her actions, you just keep on recording. Also, I'm not so sure it actually is legal .....you'd have to check. Anyways, it certainly wouldn't "hold up" if any "legal" action or perhaps official union related business had to take place because of it all.....I don't think it would count, so to speak......I just remember reading that somewhere. As an example, a student can't tape an instructor's lecture without the instructor knowing about it (& preferably consenting). Good luck though!!!! I would be doing the same thing if I were you. A few years ago, a colleague of mine had an upcoming performance evaluation report with "the boss" and he took in a recorder because he had heard horror stories about things that go on during this closed door session......he pulled it out and asked the boss if he would mind if he taped it.....of course the boss was stunned but he couldn't really say no...because what would he have to hide....right? So, it went well.

Hell, I didn't even LIKE cheese until I was in my early 30s!!! I couldn't even stand the smell of it!! The only "cheese" I ate before that was cheez whiz and cheese slices (you know, like Kraft slices). Needless to say, I didn't eat pizza until my 30s (cheese and all). I would periodically try cheese now and again...wishing I'd like it....but didn't. Then my tastes changed and now I do like cheese (though not strong cheese)!! Go figure.

Okay ya, that WAS funny Mandi!! I sometimes forget that I am as old as I am; I still feel like I'm 25 yrs younger in so many ways (prob act like it too!). To be honest, when I did this thread, I did think to myself, "I wonder if Mandi will even have heard of Supertramp"!!! LOL

Yes, the idea is to eat your protein first so that you fill up on protein and not the other stuff (ie. carbs). Personally....I don't JUST eat protein first or else I'll never get my veggies in nor some of the carbs which I do like (which aren't ALL bad!). But I DO make sure that I get a sufficient amount of protein in at each meal. I've been okay with pasta (teeeeeny bits and chewed to smithereens) and the same with toast. Untoasted bread is a bit more difficult for me. (don't forget though that everybody is different). You could sip small amounts of liquid but that may either be a good thing or a verrrrry bad thing (again, everyone is different). It may help it go down for some; for others it will back it up even more and cause more of a problem (I've been the latter!). Plus, you are supposed to avoid the drinking with meals thing anyways (so that the food stays in longer thereby giving you that full feeling longer). Spicy....I believe as with unbanded folks, some will have probs with it and others won't. Me....I looooooove spicy food and so far so good.

I loooooooooooooooove smoked oysters!!! Thank god I'm not allergic to THOSE! I used to love mussels too until one day my body decided to reject them (violently!). It took me awhile to "learn" that it wasn't going to go away. I am now vewwwwwy vewwwwwy careful. A couple of years ago, while down East at a salad bar I put what I thought was smoked oysters on my plate; I put one in my mouth; didn't even chew it....just realized as it hit my tongue that it was not an oyster, and was, instead a mussel. A soon as I realized my mistake, I spat it out. One hour later, I was in the hospital......I hadn't even CHEWED it let alone swallowed any. All that to say, now I am VERY cautious. -
Sounds like fun. I'm in. My Xmas goal is 208! If I get there, maybe I'll be in ONEderland by Valentines Day????!!!

Report Report Report. Document each incident as it happens.

Yea, but they probably had to take EXTRA precautions with a daughter like Mandi!!

I am like that some mornings too (not all). From my research and readings on the other non-Canuck threads, that is a verrrrry common theme. A lot of those folks advised drinking something hot/warm first thing in the morning (or whenever you do feel "tight")....I have tried that on a few occassions (ie. when I have time before I'm madly in a rush to get to work) and I must admit that it does work quite well.....just as they said. Not sure on the biology behind that, but I'll take it! I don't drink (never have) coffee but I do have the odd tea. I also found some delicious hot apple/cranberry cider packages which are yummy and do the trick. On the mornings I have trouble having breakfast, I take an instant oatmeal packet and some milk (I prefer making it with milk than water) to work with me and have breakfast later in the day (of course when that happens, it screws up my lunch schedule). :nervous

*ears perk up* Did I hear "Perogies"???? OMIGAWD, did I even hear "fuddddge"????!!!! :hungry:

That is awesome; I knew you'd be crafty, alright! LOL. I did rolled beeswax candles a few yrs ago (mostly just for Xmas gifts). Otherwise, I don't have much creativity in that respect. I admire people who do. Wow, every Sat...you are going to be one busy lady!! Barrie's big craft sale at the BMC is next weekend; I can't wait!!!

hmmmmmmmmmmm *thinking Neenagh must also work for the Federal Gov't, like I do!"

Good luck and congrats on your big month of change Nancy. Here's to the new you!!! :clap2:

I don't think there will ever be a time when it will stop; and no it doesn't mean it stops when you hit your sweet spot. Hitting the sweet spot merely means you are at the right level of restriction for you in terms of your weight loss (and yet not so tight that you can't enjoy your food). Don't stress though, lots of people NEVER pb or slime with the band. I am very lucky....compared to some I can't complain because I don't think it happens that frequently to me and has never lasted a long time like it does for some. Some have been banded for over a year and have never pbd or slimed. Some will slime/pb because they aren't chewing enough, eating slow enough or taking small enough bites. Others will pb/slime even if they do this all correctly (which leads me to think they are perhaps too tight). When I have done it, it is because I took too much of a bit or didn't chew enough. As with everything, it will all vary from individual to individual. As for why is it "tighter" some days than others.....I think it is just because of the way our bodies naturally fluctuate from day to day...it is bound to have an affect.
