Now Wheezy....do you mean "meatballs" made out of moose meat or actual Moose testicles???!!! (cause I just saw a show on prairie oysters (cow testicles) and ewwwwww!!!). I had bear balls (not testicles....bear meatbals) once and I did NOT like those at all!! Very very very gamey tasting. Blech. -
I'm sure Mr. Cloe would be more than willin' to speak with a German accent. Now....for me.....give me a man with an Irish or Scottish accent ANY day!!!! (not English though....ewwwww). As for the bag over his head...ummmm.....you did mean to cover his FACIAL features right? Not the lower head??!!! (hey, some can be pretty downright ugly lookin'!) ROTFLMAO
-
ahem.....ummm....errr... Cloe, that is DEFINITELY not too much food. I tend to agree with some of the others; probably not enough....don't deprive yourself. Then again, because you just had a fill, you may be "testing the waters".....right??? Yeaaaah, that's it...... That wasn't a lot either Mandi....but yes, more than Cloe!! LOL Dr Yau told me that even if I don't "feel hungry" to be sure to eat at mealtime anyways....(he is also a huge proponent of eating THREE meals a day...that means breakfast people!). He said otherwise your body will start to feel deprived (& we know what happens when THAT happens) and he said if you don't....you will feel super hungry "all of sudden" and then reach for something you didn't plan for (ie. unhealthy etc). It makes perfect sense, really. So, I do ensure that I eat at mealtime, even if I'm not feeling the need to eat....just a few bites, ya know?
-
That really IS awesome Mandi....well done. (does Dan smoke?) Really though, quitting smoking will even do more for you than losing the weight....so kudos to you. I never smoked a ciggie in my life so I can't honestly say that I know how you feel but I do know it must be (& will be) tough; just stick with it. You already know you can stick to things.

Yes, it would be a good idea to have some sort of liquid Protein supplement for your first couple of weeks after the surgery. If I had known about this protein Water and its avail. in Canada I likely would have tried it and stuck with it if I liked the taste. Give it a whirl...try it in advance (along with a couple of other sources) so you know what you like and will "enjoy" during your post-band recovery. Now, if they could only come out with protein popsicles!!
-
Hyuck Hyuck!!! I don't THINK so!!! Unless I post some pics of a midget-like green feller! Sounds like a good idea to me. But, yeah, noooo pics of me will be there.....mostly for then I will have absolutely noooooooooooooooo anonymity (sp?)....don't forget, I'm "wanted" so...you know....I gotta keep my photo out of the public! (that and if I post my pic my old stalker might find me).

I wasn't trying to be funny....just different and yes...a lil' Canadian. Although I did eat caribou sandwhiches for lunches when I lived in Yellowknife. (tastes just like roast beef if you ask me!). And, no....so there are no misunderstandings, (yeeesh Cloe!) I wouldn't realllllly eat a whole hind leg!! ewwww!!! hehe. I would love to have Ben & Jerry over for dinner too!!! (that's kinda like saying "do you wanna meet "Smith and Wesson"?....not that I have said that!). Good resistance to temptation you have been showing Mandi. Yay! Cloe.....well, don't beat yourself up, you were (are) going thru a difficult time with the evil teen!! Glad u are over the McFs though!!! The fill will likely help as well! Okay, so I didn't have any more fudge today. We also went out for dinner and I had 2 eggs, 1 piece of bacon and 1/2 piece of toast with jam. (and about 5 of Mr. Yoda's fries). So, not too bad. Oh, and bought a nice new lingerie set.....vewwwwwy vewwwwwy nice. I needed a new (smaller) one ....as that is what we take my monthly photos in.....*grinz*.....and ya'll wonder why I won't post my pics!!!!!! :paranoid -
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm watching muscular young men slap one another on the ass...!!! What's NOT to like?!
-
hey....havin' Germans salivatin' over me doesn't sound half bad!! I've been to Germany and I'll take some of 'em any day!!! LOL

Okay, so yet once again, the dang TOM has snuck up on me and like I've read about others on LBT, I seem to be able to (& want to!) eat a whole entire caribou. Well, okay, mebbe not a caribou (although it is quite yummy) but almost anything else....especially if it is carby!!! I've been fighting off the gremlins all day yesterday and today :hungry: ....and I must admit...not winning most of the battles. Why oh why does my band let it go thru during this time?! Grrrrr. Yeah, Yeah, I'm tryin' to think positive......on a happier note.....pre-band I would have been able to eat the whole caribou, now I can only eat it's hind quarters (although that is still too much!). So I know I should count my blessings. Case in point....I bought fudge at a craft sale on the weekend....pre-band days I would have been lucky if it lasted until I got home, let alone a day. Whereas, it is still sitting in my fridge only half gone (& this is sharing with Mr Yoda). Don't get me wrong...>I WANT IT SO BAD right now I'm willing to cut my arm off for it!!! But I'm trying sooooooo hard to ignore it. Part of the problem is that I'm at home and not work (feeling too ill) and so all the temptations are there. And on a more happier note.....hehe....the silver lining is that when I weighed myself on Sat (the only day I weigh) I lost 2 lbs BUT in actuality I probably lost more since I'm likely retaining and bloated.....so now I'm actually looking forward to weigh day next Sat (hmmmm, although if I continue to lose the battle with the gremlins this week it will be a moot point!). Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Okay, I feel better now. Kinda. Sorta. :phanvan -
LOL..... in my younger days, I woulda said, "what? booze without sex??"..... aaaaaaaaaaaah, those were the days. naaaah, not really....I'm happier now! LOL
-
Yup, that's right....average loss should be 1-2 lbs per week (overall average...and once the proper level of restriction is obtained). For me, it was a long journey but a quick decision....although I couldn't have done it with the 100% support I received from Mr. Yoda. Fortunately, the money wasn't really an issue. But too often, "we" (women) don't look after ourselves and we deserve it too....is there really such a thing as paying too high of a price for a healthy and long, active, productive life? Personally, I don' think so. bonus: unlike EVERY other "diet" out there, the band won't leave you feeling hungry and deprived. Bonne chance on your journey.

Glad to hear that you're fill went well Cloe! Here's hopin' that this will be the sweet spot for ya! Did you leave anything at Micheal's for the rest of us?!
-
Lets hope not, otherwise I'd want to find a really big bun, wrap it around her and take a bite!
-
strictlyred: from what I've seen (at TLBC, anyways) the BMI doesn't matter so much. It is other factors that they also consider. Don't forget that in Canada they are private clinics that are doing it...you know what THAT means.... profit profit profit....they WANT to band you. Khrissy: comfy clothes for sure and pillow/blanky for trip home....I also had a little sippy cup for my trip home with some apple juice in it (mixed with water). The sippy cup stopped me from guzzlin'. (I had a 2 hr trip home).
-
Sounds like a plan, Mandi. Neenagh!!!! No worries.....sex is left! sex is left! sex is left! (that should at least make Mr. Neenagh vewwwy vewwwy happy!)
-
Neenagh, ya try the "soft" chicken or at the very least, give it a while and try chicken later on....what you PB/slime on now may be different later.....know what I mean jelly bean?
-
nice to hear u had such a grand time, Wheezy! WOW, your hubby made out like a bandit for his b'day!!! Yay him!
-
I agree. Every person is an individual and no one "prescription" is going to work the same on all. How one reacts is completely up to them.
-
as well as the nature of your aftercare....many docs won't do the fills for you etc if you had it outside the country.
-
Mandi, ....I'm happy for you that your house guest is gone!!! YEEEHAAA!!! Freeeeedom!!! BTW, what kinda swag did you get last night?
-
Hi and welcome. The cost in Canada will range anywhere from $13,000 - $18,000. But, be wary.....some don't include the cost of the "lifetime fills" while others do....so be sure to investigate thoroughly. Yes, medical finance companies will always be happy to lend you the moola....that's how they make THEIR moola! And, yes, TLBC has a medical finance co. right in the clinic (downstairs). Line of credit is a much better idea (lower interest rate etc). Good luck in your search and research....we're here to help if you have any questions. I also highly recommend the "search" function on this lapband site.....it is very helpful in answering your queries and sending you to links wherein all the info has already been posted.
