Because your bed is a damn air mattress!!!! :notagree (by the way...kewl story above!)

Geeeeeeezus Mandi.... you look SPECTACULAR!!!!! I don't even know where to begin so let me just say: ALL OVER!!!!! Hey....Dandi looks hot too....he has lost weight as well, eh? So, if seeing those comparison shots don't give you a dose of reality....nothing will!!! You are gonna blow them away at Xmas, I tell ya!!! Just don't stand too close to people or them pointy collar bones might poke someone's eye out!!! Then, there goes all the fun! Thanks for sharin'!
-
Exactly. Me too Mandi.....that is how I felt too which is probably why I'm shocked that I've lost almost 60 lbs and I'm not smaller!! LOL Reverse body dysmorphic disorder!
-
No nibblin'? That is awesome Roxanne....GREAT NSV....well done!!! Yeah, Xmas parties.....ours is next week (potluck); I'm bringing Nanaimo Bars....I think I"ll be okay....as I'm too paranoid that something bad will happen if I'm "bad" in public!! Aaaaaah, the shame of fear! Works everytime! I think it might be "tougher" and a little more obvious (that I'm avoiding stuff) when I go to the "at home" thing though (you know what I'm referring to, Roxanne!)....so wish me luck! That is next week as well.

Here's to you stayin' in ONEderland Mandi!!!! :clap2:

Oh...and Cloe...no....you're not crazy (well, you are, but not about what you said up there!) LOL> I"m sure we can all relate to some extent. I don't like to tell anyone how much I've lost....because they freak out and then I can see them looking at me and thinking, "geez, it doesn't look like she has lost almost 60 lbs....she is still so big". (cause, I am!). And then it bothers me that they will think, "gee she has lost 60 lbs but look at her, she must have soooooooo much more to lose"...."holy crap how much did she weigh in the first place"!!!! LOL. So, yeah, I getcha.
-
Glad to hear u are doing better Cloe..... yay!! Mandi....it's all in our self-image....I can understand that you might not see a HUGE difference (cause of that whole body dysmorphic disorder thing that we likely all have) but you just have to trust everyone and "logic" on this one....people are going to flip out when they see you!! Angel Bear...you are doing fantastic!!! I"m like you....I go for the 10 lbs....then the next, then the next etc.....makes it not seem so insurmountable. Mandi, that is such a nice idea about the photos....they will love it. We are almost done our Xmas shopping!!! Only two more things to get.....once again we ended up spending so much more than we would like.....I just wish we wouldn't exchange gifts with anyone; it would make it so much more simpler!

Likely no worries Doriana....don't forget, it has ONLY been 6 days!!! I didn't experience shoulder pain but I know that a LOT of people do....very common.
-
I do believe today is Wednesday and if I'm not mistaken Wed is Mandi's weigh day.....here's hopin ur still in ONEderland after your b'day cake!!! *Fingers crossed*.....(hehe, I bet you still lost....ya FREAKO!!!!).

*scratches head*....ummmm....actual "dumping" does not happen to lapband patient.....perhaps they have a phamplet they hand out to Bariatric patients and they lumped banding in with it. Dumping is most certainly something that you do not need to worry about.
-
...bumping....
-
YEEEHAAAA good luck Khrissy...will be thinkin' of ya Thurs morning....have a nice time in TO and see ya on the other side of bandland!
-
yup....good luck to all!
-
the "scrapy" sound/feeling is even worse....when the needle scrapes along the surface of the port lookin' for the hole!
-
Yup..... *Singing*... "Harveeeey's maaaaakes a haaaambuger.....a beeeeeautiful thiiiiiiing" (remember the jingle?) Migawd, I haven't had any type of burger since the last week of March.......:omg:
-
Good question Neenagh......Yeah...let us know how you are.....
-
Oh...don't get me wrong.....I can feel my port alright....(Freaks me out too!) and we know exactly where it is....BUT it "sits" at apparently an odd angle....and so they have great difficulty getting hole...they get the "area"....it "taps taps taps" but they can't get the needle into the actual hole. Go figure. Fluro for me man!
-
oh, not to worry Mandi....we already KNOW you ARE a freak, regardless!!! Don't kid yourself!

Lila: I think the only reason we had a chat was because he was with me for awhile trying to fill me and he didn't appear to be busy that day. No, they don't do fluoro at the clinic....only at the Scarborough Grace. Nah, you don't need to be the Doc's pet to get it under fluoro (LOL)...it is just that when they try for 2 hrs (Nancy) and don't get you at all (after having driven for 2 hrs to get there (one way!) and then the two docs also have a difficult time getting it....they don't want to mess around with it anymore "blindly".....so they tell you to book a fluoro through Kathy (it is generally a long waiting period though....for instance if I wanted a fill next week - under fluoro- it ain't gonna happen for 3-5 weeks, if I'm lucky). Drs Y and J take turns doing the fluros. After the fluoro the doc told me to tell Kathy to book it as a fluoro next time as well. You don't have to twist my arm.....I'm not going thru the same difficulties as the last couple of times trying to get it at the clinic. I should say though that it isn't really that "they" are doing anything "wrong"....it is merely the angle (apparently) of my port placement that makes it so difficult to reach. Whereas under fluoro it was bada bing/bada boom.

If Mandi "ONEderland" Argon is in them then they ARE skinny jeans!
-
You'll get thru it Doriana....before you know it the first 2 weeks post op wil be over with. I didn't really feel hungry much for the first few weeks.....so I can't help you out much. Just drink lots and lots and lots ....and a different variety of drinks so it is like you are having more.
-
Hey Roxanne.....that really doesn't sound good. How long has it been like that? I don't know if Doc Yau told you....but he made a point of telling me that he wants & expects his patients to eat "normal" food.....not to resort to soft foods and drink etc....ya know? That isn't the aim of having the band. You should be able to eat "normally" in terms of type and variety.....but just be satisfied with much less. He really stressed that point. I agree....call Kathy and let her know and see what she suggests. Even thou it might help you lose weight faster....you end up not being better off in the long run...... Keep an eye.
