Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yoda replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay...so saw that doc today that I told ya'll about....he was REALLY REALLY REALLY happy & pleased with my progress; he could not stop praising me!!! That made me so happy and it motivated me even more. He said that seeing my results makes him feel better about his decision and that he did the right thing (recommending me and others) for the surgery. I'm going to have some blood tests tomorrow .....I "may" get off the med I take for high cholesterol....we'll see (last time it was halved). Also last time he took me off one of my hypertension pills. Now, if I can just get off the meds I take for PCOS I'll be happy!!! But that may never happen....as it may not be related to the weight....time will tell. So, all in all....a good day! -
Wheezy.....I never laff AT you (I leave that to Mandi)....I laff WITH you!

Hi Las Vegas people!!! Las Vegans? Las Veganites?? I went to the Nevada thread to post my question but there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity there so thought I'd try my luck here. I'm hoping some of you might have some advice for me. My husband and I are from a small town north of Toronto, Ontario Canada; we are going to go to Vegas in April sometime....we went there 5 yrs ago to get married and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (and, we only spent about $50 in the slot; neither of us are gamblers). Anyways, we want to go back since we had so much fun AND we want to go see Barry Manilow at the Hilton (I adore him and though I've seen him 4 times....the last time was about 22 years ago!). He wasn't playing there 5 yrs ago when we went and because the trip alone tapped us out, we didn't go to any concerts. This time around, we really want to see Barry and perhaps go to another show of some sort. So, my question to you Vegas locals are.....is there ANY way to get tickets at a cheaper price than what is advertised online and at the hotels and thru travel agents etc....? I mean, do you locals have some sort of secret way to get tickets cheaper? LOL. If so, PLEASE share with me your suggestions......you can pm me if you like. Also, if you have any suggestions for seeing the "real" Vegas.....I'm open to them and would greatly appreciate it. We love the strip and certainly want to do that again (& stay on the Strip again) but this time around we also want to get off the strip!!! LOL. Thanks all!!!! Vegas ROCKS!

Good luck Lila; hope it goes very well for you!!! Enjoy the time in TO!

Will do Neenagh!! "The rest of the Yodas"....cute....thanks Green...made me giggle! -
Hmmmm okay....so *thinking to self* it wasn't the coffee that destroyed Neenagh's brain cells and made her a little freakish (kinda like Argon).....good to know!
-
.....no snide remarks from this end Cloe.....I read those books too.....love 'em. We have a good used book store here that has a lot of the true crime books.....a few have really stuck with me. I like to alternate....a nice "soft" feel good book with a menacing twisted one!! (I also figure it is valuable research in case I ever need to get any ideas!!!) MWWWWWAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa *evil laughter*:embarassed:

We have out outdoor decorations up but haven't done our indoor ones yet.....not even sure we are going to do those ones this year.....

Thanks Cloe....I have a doc. appt with the specialist (endocrinologist) tomorrow...he is the one who really went to bat for me and recommended me for the surgery etc.....(long story) and he put his reputation on the line for me (& a few others).....so I reallllllllllllllllllllllly wanted to be able to sincerely tell him that I've lost SIXTY pounds (just sounds better than saying 59!)....and now I will be able to do just that!! It's important to me that he see that what he did was a good thing and NOT all for nothing!!! So I am excited to see him tomorrow and tell him. -
LOL....I'm sorry Cloe...I know it isn't funny....I can't help you there though......but good luck with the Quest..... poooor poooor cloe....:straight
-
LOL that is a funny story Cloe!!!! I would have wanted to smack that guy upside the head!!! I'm sure Mr Cloe also found the irony in that situation!!!! Okay....so, Mr Yoda was looking over my shoulder this round and said "what the hell is "ginch""??? I said, you KNOW that word....tis underwear....well, he couldn't stop laffin' and said the word is "Gitch". LOL.....and now that I think about it, he is right....that is the term I've used...."gitch" not "ginch"!!! LOL.....maybe that make a difference for ya Cloe?!! (I think my mind was on "grinch" for Xmas!). One more thing Cloe......OVER 70 LB WEIGHT LOSS?????!!! TOOOOO AWESOME!!!! :clap2: :clap2:
-
seriously Cloe? You never heard "ginch"....like, "don't get your ginch in a twist?"
-
tis a common term in my vocab! (but then again, I'm also immature!)

I also really liked Summer Sisters. I am now into reading all of the books by Perri O'Shaughnessy (pen name for two sisters who are the authors)....there are 11 in this series and I am on the 3rd right now; I really enjoy the characters. I also LOVE the 3 books by Ann Brashares: "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants", "The Second Summer of the Sisterhood", and "Girls in Pants - the Third Summer of the Sisterhood". I love to read and have a voracious appetite!

Congrats Khrissy and welcome to the other side!! Doriana....how did it go for Mr. Doriana??
