Tried out my brand spankin' new recumbant bike today....I rode it for 50 minutes....which resulted in a distance of 20.5 km. Yahh Babbbyyy!! It was pretty comfy although when I got off and stood up, my butt was sore! But it wasn't sore while I was using it! -
YOWZERS!!!! :clap2: :clap2: You are the incredible shrinking woman!!!! Way to go Cloe!! You look amazing!! And...yes, I agree....10 yrs younger!!! (at least!). You should be so dang proud of yourself! Thanks for sharing!

Actually.....if I were to drive from TLBC to the "heart" of Mississuaga it would only take me 30 mins (more in rush hour). Hope onto the Gardiner Expressway from Spadina and take it to the 427....take the 427 north and voila....you are in Mississuaga in minutes.

you really think that because the scale hasn't changed in 10 days that you are due for a fill? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It is possible that you may be losing inches throughout your body....it isn't always the scale that is the tell tale sign. Ten days doesn't seem near enough of a plateau to have a fill....migawd, if so, I would have had a dozen fills by now!!! IMHO. -
never give Cloe the benefit of the doubt... !!! It will be a foregone conclusion which road she takes!!! MMMMWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I've seen a lot of questions lately on what things stand for....so the attached is a good thread....has not only band related acronyms but also general computer lingo. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/abbreviations-and-they-t7959.html?t=7959

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh recumbant bike..THAT was the term I was aimin' for...not "recline"! LOL Thanks Neenagh!!! Hey Cloe...don't knock the delusions....it's actually very pleasant in my own lil' delusional world! -
That is awesome Cloe!!! I am now only 2 lbs away from my pre-Xmas weight!!!

YEEEHAAAA Congrats Yasmina!! Is that your consult appt or your surgery appt? :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Cloe pretty much summed it up. A fluro is done at the "Imaging Section" (normally in a hospital)....piece of cake.....you stand there in front of a machine which flashses up your insides on a screen (very kewl to see all the organs and stuff....even the heart beating!) so that the doc can see the port clearly and give you the needle for the fill. Than, you drink barium (which glows) and you can follow the path it takes...it is neat...you see it move quickly down your throat....then sorta stop when it reaches the band....trickles through and then goes into the stomach. It is all done in well under 5 mins. Alas, I no longer need to have it done by fluro and will go to the clinic next time I need a fill (but hopefully I won't need another one; I'm hoping this one from yesterday will end up being my sweet spot!).
-
That is a MOST excellent NSV indeed!!! :clap2: :clap2: You are COMPLETELY correct...it is all about how you feel on the inside...and it then shines through loud and clear on the outside in spades!!! Yay you!!! This is just the beginning!
-
Yeah Wheezy...I know what you mean...that is how I felt when I first saw the port and the band under fluro in Aug. It was like...."hey man...WTF is that inside me"...."OMIGAWD, there REALLY is something there". It is a really different feeling when you actually seeeee it!!! I chuckled at your post tho.....I can just imagine the X-ray tech's shock!!! LMAO So....how is the spine and all? Hope everything is okay.....keep us posted.

LOL LOL I'll try and not take it personally!!! LOL Actually the bike has a surprisingly big seat....the "recline" ones usually do. -

LOL @ Irish....you have an excellent memory, my friend!! My fill went well....last time I had to wait for over an hour for Dr. J to show up .....(remember I go to the hospital for it)....and this time Dr. Y was waiting for me.....from the time we parked the car, went in, registered, had it done and was back at the car, only 30 mins passed! (20 of those were waiting in line to register!). Last time the whole thing took almost 3 hours! (and the cost of hospital parking SUCKS)! Dr Y. got me port on the first hit (without even using the fluro) and he put in .5 ccs. I didn't want a whole cc plus he said that would likely be too much. He wasn't even gonna do the fluro thing but I was so disappointed and told him I liked seeing it!! LOL So, he did it for me and we watched the barium solution (which I actually like drinking) trickle down. Good news: he said I no longer need to have it done by fluro (hmmmm....mebbe not so good...it is MUCH easier for me to get to the hospital in Scarborough than to go downtown TO to the clinic!!)....he said the port is easily accessible now (?) and they should have no problem. Plus he said I can tell them that I want HIM to do the fill at the clinic....so that is a good thing. I really like him...he is so very personable...and ladies....yes, I find him to be very good looking.....forget Dr. C!!!! I dooooo feel the extra .5 ccs for sure. I will def. stick to fluids the rest of the day and likely tomorrow. I feel a bit of that golfball feeling in the back of my throat....but I know that will likely go away (I hope!). I hope this will do the trick and kickstart me again. AND.....today we purchased an excellent "recline" exercise bike from Costco at an awesome price. I couldn't believe it was that cheap....given the high quality of the bike (I know those bikes well from the gym)....so we just spent the last 2 hrs putting it together...well....errrr... Mr Yoda did it and I helped (watched!)....actually, I did hand him some nuts and bolts so I guess I DID help! So, I'm excited about that.....now I will have 2 machines at home to chose from....AND I'm hoping Mr Yoda will do the bike thing. Alrighty....guess I'll go have supper now (juice!).... :lost1.5lbs: sorry for ramblin' along .... -
I don't recall actually being hungry for a few days afterwards. I figured I abated it by sipping on juice etc. Popsicles for me were a lifesave though...I started on those the 2nd day....the Delmonte fruit (sugar free) ones are excellent....I just sucked away on those and plus it made me "feel" like I was eating.
-
Cloe....definitely go to a gym or something first to try out an elliptical before you purchase one.....(take a gym up in a free trial day or something). You either love it or hate it and it would be a shame if you were in the latter category! Me....I love it!
-
I'd give it a few more days Neenagh.....it likely is just paranoia. You went through a lot.....
-
I have no advice since I haven't experienced that myself....but I would suggest calling and talking to the doctor's office who banded you.....

I second that; the actual PB itself is a relief (for me).....as Cloe said...(sometimes she IS right!!) hehe....it is the pain right beforehand that is the killer. I've heard some ppl say it lasts a long time but thankfully for me the longest has been only about 4-5 mins (but that seemed like a lifetime at the time). I've actually only "vomited" (if you can call it that) once....and it totally caught me by surprise...very different though....Poof done! I don't think I'm a frequent PBer....in fact, I just call it sliming...because that is what happens to me when I PB...I just slime for a minute or two and I'm fine. (slime: open mouth and an incredible amount of slime just continuously dribbles out....god knows where the hell it is coming from!!). I do that maybe only about once or twice a week....so not too bad! Of course once I have my fill tomorrow this could very well change!!! I shall have to be extra cautious and feel it all out again......time will tell! -
