No waaaaaaaaaaaaaay Yasmina.....you are MUCH better off doing the yogurt thing. Trust me!!! That is the one I did....but a few yrs ago I went thru the whole Optifast program (months of optifast!!) and TRUST me, you are better off!!! If they had told me to do optifast at TLBC, I would said, "ya okaaaaaay" and then just had yogurt!!! Hands down, you are in a better position!

Actually Green, the last time I had it (fluro) Dr Y told me I no longer needed to have it under fluro and that I could go to the clinic but that I could ask for him to do it (to avoid any possible problems). So when I called and mentioned that to Nancy she said I was better off seeing him at his office vice the clinic otherwise I'd have to wait 3-4 hrs at the clinic and try and nab him between surgeries. So I opted for an office appt. His office is in Scarborough on Finch....which works out better for me since I don't have to get all the way downtown. Otherwise, yes, it woulda been kewl to connect; you coulda taken me to your barbershop! Oh, no worries Mandi...I have a feeling this ummmm...problem is here to stay until I get some taken out. Plus, even if I do feel "better" Mr Yoda will MAKE me go....I know I have him really worried. I've been trying to hide the amount of times I'm vomiting from him but I apparently am LOUD when I do it!!! Even if I run the water and shut the doors and turn the fan on....he still knows I'm doing it! Plus, the fact I'm even trying to hide it from him means something is "up" and I need to have this taken care of. I hope this week goes very very very quickly......it really sucks in the evening and during the night.

DEFINITELY talk to your doc. The most important thing is your safety and health....forget about the weight loss for now. Nip this in the bud right away and then you can continue on your journey!

no....good gawd, no freezing required!! These folks in the States who need freezing are wimps!!! LOL....and no numbing creme needed!!! LOL. Really....it hurts not more (even less so) than getting a needle; pulling out a splinter hurts more. and...take it from me....THIS statement coming from someone who was poked for 2 hrs looking for the port (okay, it did start to hurt but who wouldn't hurt after 50 pokes?). But that was an abnormality.....they generally get it on the first or second try.....piece of cake....2 mins tops.

I'm tellin' ya guys....use the orange extract with the chocolate opti.....it will taste like a Terry's Chocolate.

No they don't generally hurt. (I'm a bad person to ask.....due to some issues I had with fills but I'm not the norm). How: put saline in needle; put needle in port; plunge needle to put saline in band; pull out needle. All done. Quick and painless. (in 99% of cases...even the "odd" cases don't actually hurt; just take longer to hit the port).

I completely agree with that sentiment Loriely!!! Cloe....hope today's fill went okay and will be the trick!

to Neenagh....my thread....so I can talk about them milkshakes if I wanna!!!! :rolleyes Okay you worry warts.....I have scheduled an appt for next Mon for a slight de-fill; apparently it isn't normal to vomit every night!!! (LOL)....(I knew that!). I'd get it sooner but because I want Dr. Y. to do it (vice the fill nurse) I need to wait until his office hrs next Monday. My last fill consisted of .5 ccs, so I believe I'll have .25 taken out!

Yasmina...TLBC will generally schedule your first fill the day of your surgery....for 6 weeks later....so just try and have them make it for that day.

I'm so excited for you Yasmina, Don't forget a li' pillow for travellin'. I also brought a lil' children's "sippy" cup with me (a plastic jobby)....it helped me ensure I only took small sips. It came in handy on the 2 hr drive home the next day. Wear slip on shoes, as you may have probs bending over to tie up shoes/boots. YAY YOU!!! Your time is almost here. Don't worry about Carmen; he'll come around....he is likely just worried that something will go wrong on the table....he does't want to lose you. In a way that is a good sign.....he is just masking that fear with other reasons....ya know? Best of luck to ya!

Oh Lila....you have no idea of how much I WISH that was me on the beach yesterday!

So, here I was sitting at my computer (about 20 mins ago)....doing the surf thing and sipping on my Breakfast drink before I have to leave for work. I was all comfy and settled....took a sip (okay, okay, a big sip!) of my drink, swallowed it and then felt like I was going to cough. I didn't feel too tight and just figured it was going to be an average, run-o-the-mill cough....big deal right? So, I cough and as I started to cough I quickly realized "UH OH"....as my brain realized this was going to be a problem a little too late, it didn't have time to appropriately react and set up an effective defence. So, ummmmmmmmmmm.....lets just say I completey spewed my chocolate milky concoction (witch's brew) as I coughed and it went ALL OVER the friggin' keyboard (do you KNOW HOW many nooks & crannies are in the keyboard that seem to yell out for my drink to flow into?), all over the front of my work uniform and on the rug. Now, I KNOW I did not swallow THAT much drink so I'm assuming much of it was chocolate covered slime. *sigh* Mr Yoda is going to killlllll me. Hmmmmmm, unless I have successfully wiped up the mess (on the keyboard, table, rug, and chair!) and it dries before he gets home later today. I guess I'll be okay as long as he doesn't turn the keyboard upside down and shake it (no, something he is not prone to doing). I guess he has a point when he says I shouldn't drink at the computer, eh? Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I HATE it when he is always right!!!!! Anyways....so be forewarned: don't drink and surf....or at the very least....don't drink, cough and surf!

Now....milkshakes....omigawd.....Mr Yoda and I went out for lunch today and I ordered a milkshake and chili......I had a craving for a nice thick old fashioned chocolate milkshake and they did not disappoint. I figured I would treat myself..................mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it was soooooooooooooo damn good!!! Mind you, I didn't eat any chili!!!!! Guess what I'm havin' for supper tomorrow night?!! LOL. Hey, milkshake is a meal in my book!

Hmmmm, I gotta try salad more....I have a few nibbles here and there of Mr Yoda's (ie. a crouton!) but to be honest I'm a lil' fearful of trying the salad......I gotta get over that!

Glad things are getting resolved wrt the repairs Louise....that IS good news!!! I know it must be frustrating to have this going on both at home and work....hang tight!

I second what Mandi said.....I guess I'm still adjusting. I can really relate to the "sad" thing....but I know (hope) that will pass with time. It still frustrates me. Mind you it may be more paramount in my head right now because I think I'm too tight.....(see Neenagh???? I can admit it!) LOL
