Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

Loriely...yeah, I'll be back two days after he starts his pre-op diet. I told him I would try and do the yogurt thing with him (to make it easier on him). Heck, I did it before; no reason I can't do it again!! Plus it may kick start me again! Susan...yeah, we know the good places to go for dinner but we had this "package deal" (I use the term "deal" loosely!) at the Delta wherein we got a $25 food credit....to use at one of their restaurants in the hotel....big mistake and won't be doing THAT again!!! Oh...and I think his pre-op seminar is on 23 Apr (if he is able to attend). -
Did you get a lot of questions? How did you handle them?

It's good everyone is supportive.... ...and not to say this is happening to you...but I know of a "real-time" friend who told everyone...and to this day she "thinks" everyone is supportive BUT they are talking VERY badly about her behind her back and mocking her etc. I don't have the heart to tell her and never will. Of course, I defend her if I'm around when this happens. This is one of the many reasons I chose to keep it private. I'm sure some really ARE supportive but like I said, they "act" supportive, but they really aren't and it is a horrible thing to be around them when they talk bad about her and her choice to do the surgery. She would die if she knew the whole truth. Sad how people can be. So.....remember....though you may tell people and they "say" they are supportive; it doesn't mean they truly ARE. -
Nope but you should check on the general thread. If it was anything like "dumping" I'm thinking it was unrelated to what you ate "in the moment".
-
I don't know what province/city you are in, but if you are going out of country for your surgery, be DANG sure you have all the necessary aftercare set up (before your surgery)...otherwise you risk running into great difficulty and making the "saving money" a moot point. It's a personal choice, of course...but price shouldn't be the only (let alone the main thing) you consider.

Well, I see Mr Yoda provided a good overview of our trek to TO. I couldn't have said it any better: the Queen "We Will Rock You" was ABSOBLOODYLUTELY amazing!!! nuff said! I must disagree about the pool though....I LOOOOOOOOVED it.....(Mr Yoda is missing the gene that keeps him warm).....it was a wee bit on the chilly side but very refreshing and I love to splash around in the Water. Funny thing though (NSV, I guess) ....I didn't feel at all uncomfortable in my bathing suit (first time in a loooooong time).....I showed lots of cleavage (hehe....Mr Yoda liked THAT part) but my bottoms (they were the "boy short" type bottoms) were too big and I was awfully paranoid that they were flapping around and showing "bits" that they shouldn't when they got wet ...(apparently Mr Yoda reallllly liked THAT part!).....thankfully there weren't too many others around. I didn't even feel compelled to "cover up" on my way through the hotel to the pool etc.....held my head high and everything!!!! WOOOT WOOOT!!! But yeah, the dinner at the Delta Chelsea SUCKED....I was very disappointed. (but all else more than made up for it!). Oh....one other thing.....*sigh*....the lead in the musical was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY freakin' cute!!! :kiss ("shagalayo gigilo) -
LOL I do believe Mr Yoda gave a synopsis in "Yoda's Yammerin's" Thread!
-

Cloe.....sick again with another kidney infection?? :sick Whassup wit dat???? Why so many? Are they looking for the root cause? Poor you. I know you're frustrated cause ya can't get "at" everything....but do take care of yourself....that is the priority..kay? ...and AS IF we would forget ya!! (Mandi and I have tried and tried and tried to forget ya and wipe ya outta our minds....but no such luck!!) :nervous -
TLBC is great....but make sure you speak up all the same!!!! (ie. if they don't ask!). They do know better...but only if they have the right info that only YOU can provide them with!
-
Yea, Nisrine is kewl. Well done Donna. Have LOADS of fun on your holiday!!!!!! *green with envy*

MacDaddy...tis a good thing I wasn't drinkin' over the keyboard this time around....as I would have spewed my beverage as I read your post!!! (I did that once, not a pretty site and it got Mr Yoda pretty upset!). Your wife is AWEsome!!! Reward her, you must!!! Perhaps with the Owen Wilson angle....oooops, I digress!!! :nervous KUDOS to your wife!! :clap2: :clap2: Susan: I don't know so much about people on the Canadian thread going alone but I know of several on the general thread who did go alone. No problem. It is preferable that you have someone pick you up and take you home etc.....but yes, lots of people went alone...and even spent overnight alone etc. You'll be fine....if you feel it is important not to disrupt your daughter's routine....then so be it. I don't know your hubby...so he may be okay with it (or maybe he only "says" he is okay with it)....but it is him I would worry about...he may feel the "need" to be "with" you.....though he says it would be for moral support for you...in actuality he may need the support for himself....by being with you. If circumstances were such that I felt I had to go alone, it would have made Mr Yoda distraught....the idea of not being there with me to walk me in and say "see ya later" and "I love you" etc....you know...what with the "what ifs". Same on my end, there is no way I could let him go alone.....so just be sure you think/consider your hubby's needs in this decision too. But if it turns out you have to go alone, you can do it!
-
LOL @ MacDaddy...good to see they didn't mistakenly remove your sense of humour while you were under....! Hey, I like Owen's nose...it has definite posibilities!! *winka winka* :kiss
-
Doddie...make sure you tell them that when you go for your fill. They "should" ask you questions..you know...about how much restriction your are feeling, how hungry you are (or aren't) etc before deciding how much to put in.....so make sure you make them aware of the slight restriction you already feel!
-
That is great news!!!
-
Jurema: it's all a personal taste issue. Go to the grocery store and buy a few different brands (ie. the single serving ones) and try them...find one you like (brand wise) and then get some different flavours in that brand. You'll do fine.....like you, I can't stand cottage cheese....

Becca...I have a very short stop in Edmonton to change planes on my was to Victoria on 18 Apr...I'll be sure to wave at ya! Mandi: how long do they expect it to take? Who knows with these guys!!! THey were here all day yesterday and they were here this morning for a few hours...they are supposed to come back again tomorrow and then do the whole rip up the floor thing next week. Hopefully it will all be done before I go to BC as I do NOT want Mr Yoda taking any time off work for this...(the whole reason he isn't coming with me is because he can't spare the time off work). -

EXACTLY!!!! And, I tell ya...both Mr Yoda and are waaaaaay too freakin' nice to deal with these people for EXACTLY that reason. Neither of us have that a$$hole gene. Sometimes I wish one of us had SOME of it so we can "put our foot down" but it's hard to pretend ya have it when ya don't...(& very very very stressful!). But, that is why I love Mr Yoda so much....so I can't get on his case for NOT demonstrating a$$holiness!! LOL The worker dudes are gone for now but they will be back again tomorrow bright and early. UGH. -
Well done MacDaddy!!!! Be good to yourself over the next few days! :clap2: :clap2: Welcome to Bandland!
-
Yup...ditto....all of the above. Also, if you do a search (tab at top) you will find dozens of threads on this very question; thereby obtaining a wealth of answers to this query!

Thanks Dame J....yeah, here's hopin'!!! Yup, I know it could be way worse.....I just wish the craftsmen doing it (well, those who did it) were more professional and took some pride in their work...ya know? Instead of just slappin' thing together. I swear, I think they just gave a group of monkeys a tool box and said, "go at it boys". :rolleyes :phanvan
