hi, i honestly cant remember now how long i stayed on liquids..didnt think it was that long tho? maybe one of the others on here has it fresher in their minds?.it is normal whats happening with you though, your hunger does come back after a week or so and its frustrating but you have to use a bit of willpower, dont worry you will get there!..depending on how much you have to lose, it can take up to 2 years..i know we want it to fall off overnight but it is best to go slower really, your body needs to get used to it...and more than that, your head does also..i still cant get my head round these small portions and im piling a plate up to only eat about a quarter of it..i hate waste, but my dogs are loving it!

its the free phone number on the WLS site..if you cant get through leave a message and they get back, also leave an email..the woman who organises the fills appointments is colleen. wendy wont fill you though until you are 6 weeks post op..cos it takes 4 to 6 weeks for op swelling to settle (even tho you cant feel it cos not many nerve endings in stomach or summat)

gary dont worry, its like what flirty had..its cos of the vomiting (maybe the booze didnt help ether!?) it affects your band, the stomach will be swollen underneath it so just have cold drinks and ice lollies to help, and go back to liquids for a day,and maybe an anti infammatory like neurofen may help?..youll be fine soon. let us know x

a few of us have been with bridget.she organises it all with chris, she is nice and not pushy..you will have to organise your own reservation at the hotel (campanille vilvoorde is most convieneint and all here have used it) which is done in few mins online, also your flights which we all have to do, just remember that flights to brussels international are better than flights to charleroi(brusels south) we got really cheap flights to the latter but its a long way away and if you have a taxi it works out expensive. between the hosp and hotel you will need taxis and reception at the hotel will help you with this..the package that doc chris and frederik provide themselves include the taxis and transfers which does make it easier..i just found the communication a bit slow and went with bridget who arranged it all within an hour or so. cos when i had decided i wanted it yesterday! think most others on here have done the package though and are happy with their experience..one way or the other though..its surgery the same with dr chris whoever you book with. hes a top surgeon who has done 4000+ successfull ops. he does them day in day out. hosp is immaculate and staff brilliant..good luck!

yes!!.i asked everyone else and no one else had it except me..its not the soreness of the op still, its where its sewn in to he muscle. it got to the point where i was thinking id have to go and have another op to loosen it.it hurt when i bent down, got up etc or any exertion..it lasted for about a month to 6 weeks and wasnt nice. my fill nurse said it is sewn in like a button and will loosen off with time and weight loss, and it ends up like a loose button..so i know its tight now, and its miserable, but it will go, i couldnt wear anything except very loose elasticated trousers as anything pressing on it or bending really twinged it. it was fine when i was sat still though..so if this is same as you..it will go, but may be good few weeks..x

hi t-bird, sorry but i didnt have that problem, i hope someone can answer you soon who has and hope it eases..icy cold water is supposed to go down better..have youtried ice pops?.was told by my fill nurse these tips if your feeling tight..its prob still swollen, and hopefully this will help, let us know how itsgoing, if its still bad id give doctor chris or fred a ring or email them..if you can only manage water, make sure you dont get dehydrated, and get vitamin drops..i sure it will settle down in a few days, just take it really easy with liquids only, if you can get a slimfast shake down then do, as it has your vits and minerals in..keep it all cold though..oh yes, just remembered summat good for swelling such as if you have bit of overfill, and thats.ibuprofen...obviusly get it in liquid (kids neurofen) or in melt form...hope this helps..dont panic though im sure your going to say your ok in next day or two gillian x

no you wont have to take any dressings with you. i got expensive dresings from boots and they werent very good, and got some mepore too..i bought big ones but you only need small ones..my sister (bigsister) got some from lloyds chemist called 'opsite' they were the best..and also the cheapest, they come in handy packs of 5..for your 5 wounds.just perfect size too.you only need them on til about a week after surgery. just get 2 lots of them, that should be enough really.go in shower and peel old ones off, then when dry put new ones on. i showered day after i came home, went in bath day10 when blue stitch was took out.

hi flirty, im racking my brains now trying to remember if it was on a tv prog or on an internet site now. it was a video if so..ill see if i can find it. i just remember thinking..WOW!. that looks brill, the woman had lost about half her bodyweight or more and had that skin really overhanging over her belly button as well as the underneath..i seem to think now it was a you tube diary..it was an american girl. she had had either a gastric bypass or band, and was having all sorts of surgery planned. i will try and find it.its an eye opener!. yes, i think the methley hosp isnt too far from us.might have to visit you! x

flirty, i think that is very resonable price.leeds is near us so id be interested in knowing...for in another 10 years when ive saved up!..that fleur de lys tt looks great, esp if you have the excess above your belly button and back;itdoesnt seem to be that much extra cutting either, and nips the waist in..it sounds like its the one you need really, and youll be so pleased! i saw someone have it done on a tv prog last year. let us know how you get on

i dont like your doctors attitude at all!..surely no doctor would turn you away with an infection..thats got to go against their code i reckon??!they cannot turn you away if you need help im sure?!. most of our docs have been so supportive, and you are gonna be saving the NHS money in the long run. a years treatment and care for diabetes costs the same as giving us a band...so its terrible!.its preventative surgery, in my eyes. x

dunno what my band is called yet?!..ill think a good name up. glad your daughters doing well, its good shes managed to keep her weight the same..as long as she puts the recommemend amount on and no more she should easily loose it after..think i put about 5 stone on with my first!.prob about 3 stone with others, supposed to be about 1 to 1 and half stone i think?!) good for you with your weight too!, its good if you just dont put any on after a hol or an event! x
