:smile2: thankyou everyone for happy birthday wishes!..unfortunatly i had a tummy bug which has passed round the school and family!..so have been unwell for 3 days including my birthday..i didnt eat for two days and still got no appetite today so im taking advantage and hope i lose shed loads when i see wendy on tues!, altho im not having a fill, my restriction is good. i felt ok enough to go out last night ,which had been arranged, we went to 'the comedy club' in town center which is stand up comedians and cheesy disco after, it was good but i was really tired. its amazing how much you have to catch up when you not been online for few days! :thumbup:welcome to the newbies on the thread! :thumbup:well done all you who have come back from your banding...your now gonna be big losers too! and good luck (altho you wont need it, your in great hands!) to all the pre bandsters going out this week! xxxx gillian xxxx

odge modge, you have lost one and half stone already!..thats great...but i know what you mean, cos after a great start it slows down and you feel despondant, but another couple of fills youll start losing again..a lot of people say the same..they have greatest loss post op, then again 6 months after it gets going again. so for next month or two just concentreate on not putting any on at the very least. you will prob be really surprised soon when it starts to come off effortlessly when you get restriction. i got it on third fill then lost it again, then got it again on 5th. i am just right now.shame you cant get to another WLS venue?..we had em every 2 weeks to start as we have one here in sheffield and also not far away in leeds, so are lucky that we could..maybe it might be worth you travelling to another clinic venue just once?

:rolleyes2:flirty..i for one really want to hear everything bout your upcoming surgery!! im counting the days down with you now! your gonna be so happy with your new body and at only 25 you have years of showing it off! you are having so much done in one day tho, you make sure you take advantage of the painkillers, your paying enough not to be in too much..yes a morphine pump would be brilliant. i bet the surgeon is looking forward to transforming you too!..cant wait to see your results. you say your having mainly disolving stitches, did he mention having any temp drains put in? what is the surgeons name? x

Flirty, im so pleased for you! and all within a year!..im sure that you will feel like youve been run over by a bus at first, having it all done at once, but its gonna be so worth it!..i wish it was me! youll see the improvements straight away, but like the doc says its gonna take about 6 months for it to settle down then the scars will flatten and smooth. are you having it done in leeds? i cant wait to see your before and after photos, im really excited for you! you have arrived at your destination! a new you! x

i got one of those squashy packets of korma sauce, and had few carrots in it and some fresh coriander on top when i was at your stage...i know it doesnt sound great, but it was like nectar at the side of the boring soup! also home made egg custard, those tubs of cream caramel, and ground rice goes down well. you enjoy your sons graduation, just hold a sandwhich in your hand and a drink in the other, then swap it for a piece of cake or summat when no ones looking, have a drink, but not much and not fizzy..you could add cranberry juice to a bit of wine or something, no one will know..i could imagine that the champagne wont go down well, so only a few sips!. i know a lot of people have trouble with fizzy drinks but as the time has gone on, i can drink lager fine now, also sparkling wine same as before pre banding...just not coke or lemonade etc. you have a great day anyway..is it july 3rd?..thats my birthday! x

thanks garry..yes it is surprising when you actually do it this way..i cant lift a bag of dog food even(17kg), well not without my back hurting and straining, so just look at what a strain i was having on my body before?! it puts it into perspective this way doesnt it!..roll on that next 2 bags of dog food! x

sammy, hi!..glad you had great holiday ,and well done on your weight loss!..your doing great..does your husband notice how well your doing?..mine doesnt say anything! think he feels bit threatened really and keeps buying me chocolate etc! i have 6ml in my band and have good restriction at the mo, bigsister has 8ml in hers, i suppose when your getting near to your target, you need more in, so im aware i may lose this restriction as i lose the weight.im happy with how its going..steadily, but its going!...and it will never come back on either, which is the best bit. i measure myself using familiar stuff...like one week ill say ive lost a 'bag of sugar!'..or a 'bag of potatoes'...but now im really proud to be saying i have lost a 'sack of wagg working dog food'!..i cant even lift one up, so thats good!..just waiting for 2 more sacks of dog food to come off! when we went to scarboro at weekend i was walking very easily up the hills etc..and i said to david, im not surprised it feels easier as i havent got a sack of dog food strapped to me!....well thats the way i look at it anyway!..also we had some bricks outide, so i weighed one and piled em up to the amount id lost...its good to see it!..is it just me or is anyone else doing strange things like this?!

glad your feeling better, its normal to be tired, you will need to get your feet up as much as poss for few more days. me and big sister are both doing well thanks, i have 6ml in my band and have good restriction. bigsister has 8ml in hers and is a little on the tight side i think, but it takes a good few weeks of getting used to when you get your restriction, so she wont be having a fill next week but was wondering whether to have a little took out, shes gonna see how it goes, but shes done well with the weight loss, and shes very busy at work, so i keep her informed of how everyones going mainly i wont be having fill either, but am aware that when im down even more, it will loosen so ill need more in. im glad you told your boys, i bet they were a bit worried and thought you were keeping summat from them when they saw you looking bit peaky and with bruises on your arms etc! x

welcome jelly1...love your user name!. i have thought of some great names since i registered as plain old boring 'gillian'!.but cant change it now!. this forum is brilliant, i feel sorry for those who are being banded who havent found it!..it def made my mind up to be banded, and with dr chris, so glad i did find it!..its invaluable for support and advice...youll be banded on 3rd next week (on my birthday!) and youll be giving your own advice out in another few weeks no doubt, its good its an ongoing thread cos the older bandsters from last year are drifting off now (except our flirty who has transformed her life in 9 months!watch out for her posts, shes done fab!) gillian x

hi garry..well, it looks like your there!..the gurgling tells me that.. you will find it a lot harder when you go back on solids also, so take it slowly. it worried me a bit when i first got the restriction,i thought it was too tight, you may find its tighter in the mornings too, and eases off at teatime. i am still on 2 milky farleys rusks for breakfast, i just love em tho, so good excuse!. your weight loss should accelerate now, ive had my best losses since restriction. it does ease off over a week or so tho, and you can lose your restriction as your losing the weight too, as the visseral fat around your stomach disappears too as it is between your stomach and the band. bigsister is the same as you at mo, she has got 8ml in her band, she is 3 stone lighter than me anyway, so i suppose ill need tightening up bit by bit, as the 6ml i have didnt restrict her. let us know how you get on with solids! x

alex and sammylh..WLS is an aftercare provider for people who have been banded (they also do the surgery). you can go to be filled and have aftercare from anyone you want when you have been operated on. we chose WLS cos it has a clinic only 10 mins drive from us in a private hospital. they travel around to different venues, and its worth going with them if you have a venue near you as it works out much cheaper..at the moment they are apparantly offering a 6 months aftercare package including unlimited fills and unfills for just £270 ive heard.. which is worth it in the first 6 months when you need most of your fills..you can have them done every 2 weeks if you want and can get to a clinic venue. we go to sheffield and sometimes the leeds clinic also. after you can go on a 'pay-as-you-go' fills and aftercare at £85 a fill, which is prob what ill be doing as i have my restriction good now. if you google or search 'WLS' it should come up. gillianx
