Hi TC!. yes hes not doing surgery on the 9th now, so I was offered other dates and took the week after..so no, not as far in front of you now!..I will have to re adjust my countdown calender! going to doctors this afternoon..bit scared that shell tell me off, but am going to fight my corner well!..and whatever she says..i am still having it done..so Im just going to inform her really and ask for some support after maybe..dietician or nutritionalist or something. Ill let you know how i go on afterwards! oh yes welcome miss flump and tropical lagoon! yes your brave having it done on the 23rd december..Id have no chance with a house full of kids over xmas! wish you all the best though! Hi Kath..Sorry its took so long to get back to you..my internet is running very slow and Ive given up on it this weekend!....but..I think your question has been answered already by Vanesa!..yes they do do the tummy tuck there for £1500..different doctor unfortunatly, but look on europesurgery.com...I know about it cos its who Im having my band done with.. it costs about £5000-£7000 in England..so its a big saving. I will definatly need at least that doing after, maybe a boob lift too, as my big bangers have got to droop after!.anyway I have got a definate date of 16th January now for my band..hope I do as well as you, and the others on here!..well done! Bloody ell!!!.not heard anything off her yet!.she didnt speak to me, but obviously got my email .(just emailed you by the way) good job i havent booked hotel and flights yet init! Hubby wont be best pleased, cos he was arranging stuff too! might have to completley re arrange now! ill let you know when i hear!.

Thanks for letting me know how you went on..glad your ok, and that the fluid round port was just what the site was flushed out with..im sure it will feel better now with it out. I suppose youll know better your restriction when you eat some solid food? has anything made you sick up to now? when will you have another fill?. in the 4 weeks how much weight have you lost? it is better to do it slower though isnt it?..I think ill get frustrated at first if I dont shift a lot, but Ill try and stop myself being over enthusiastic and keep reminding myself that a slower weight loss is better for your skin! I know ill be left with bit of sag,cos of the amount of weight on my belly,loadsa stretch marks,3 caesarian scars and my age,(sound gorgeous dont I!? lol!) but trading fat for bit of sag has surely got to be better for me!..also I can go back to same hospital for reasonable tummy tuck in couple of years!? Ive looked into that too! I shall be a new woman hopefully! lol! anyway..enjoy your mushies later!. Im eating steaks and things I know ill have probs with after the op at the mo,getting it down my neck while i can!.do you have probs with certain foods yet?. anyway thanks again for your answers..have a lovely weekend.Gillian x

Yes I was looking at the same hotel as you as it seems to be the one most people on here have gone for..or the hotel at the airport looked good too.and even cheaper. forgot the name of it though, ill remember when i see..but not booked yet..not even booked flights either yet..hope can still get them!.Im going to see my GP on tuesday, bit scared but Im just going to tell her that I have thought it thro,researched it thoroughly and am going to have it done..Im just hoping that she will give me some aftercare such as dietician etc..she is very sympathetic to weight probs and has tried all the prescription weight loss drugs on me now..she has never offered me surgery and prbably wont still..but just on the off chace she may refer me Im not booking flights or hotels till she gives me a def no!..even then, i have geed myself up for Jan 9th now and dont wanna waste any more time! so will let you know tuesday what she says and will prob be booking them later that day.Gillian x:wink_smile:

Hi Vanessa, how did you get on yesterday with your fill? do you see Dr Chris or Frederick? How much have you got in your band now? Did it hurt? was it quick? sorry for all questions! the fluid you had around the port was that fluid from your body or from the band? I hope its a better fill than what you thought,and there is some restriction,does it feel tight or sore on your stomach when youve had it filled?..have you eaten much yet? hows it going down? sorry again!..I ask too many questions dont I!! Hi TC, thanks for your reply..I hope Ill be jumping up and down on one of those kiddy chairs next year too,instead of having 2..one for each bum cheek!!..and id love to go to the carribean..I really wanted to go to the Cozumal islands..(prob spelled that wrong!?! )its just off mexico, I saw on TV people were snorkling there and it looked beautifull. bit expensive though, so maybe it will be snorkling at skegness or something this year! Lol! I will look like Ursula Andress in James Bond in my white bikini carrying my snorkle,emerging from those waves next year. Ill get my "kiss me quick" hat out and my big warm coat ready! I have chose the 9th jan to have it done so my husband only has two days off work really . yes Tullia was phoning me up like mad all the time and leaving messages..thought she sounded like she was gonna give me detention or keep me in at playtime or something! was a bit scared of her! I would rather go with Bridget,she sounded more down to earth! x

Hi..I have booked through bridget at professional beauty..the price is 4000euros..which can be anywhere around £2800 to £3000 depending on the exchange rate,which is bad at the mo..she gets back to you immediatly and sorted the date and everything out within a day of contacting her by email. and you dont pay until you get there, you pay Dr Chris for the op..it includes everything to do with the op..but you have to arrange your own travel and accomodation..which I have found very cheap flights (£120 return for 2 people)and cheap good hotel£50per room per night..oh and yes, its near to airport so taxi to and from hosp are reasonable..Iwas told by someone whos been they are between 8 and 10 euros hosp to hotel. eurostar is good option too taking less than 2hrs london to brussels. good luck, let me know how you go on if you get in touch with her..someone on the "Anyone know of christian de bruyne" thread has booked today and got a date for the 16th december..im waiting till christmas is over first though with kids! I could have had it this tuesday as i booked about a month ago but have gone for jan 9th but Bridget said there was no problem with cancelling or changing date as long as it was done up to a week before surgery (can I ask you what Tullia was charging? she seemed a bit pushy I thought?) .Gillian x

I can imagine Ill be the same as you- abit nervous,or a lot nervous! when it gets closer to being banded,very excited too though!..mine is on jan 9th..could have had it done this tuesday but needed more time to save up and thought id get xmas with the kids out of the way first..dont forget to keep us updated with your thoughts and feelings etc up to and after banding..well all be interested to know how you go on!..well not be far behind you either!! best of luck and every success! Hi TC..actually quite fancy a break in edinbrugh! never been to scotland!..And Im hopefully going to be doing all sorts of new things as I lose that weight!..Fancy scuba diving (not in scotland in jan though..Brr!) horse riding..and just walking without huffing/puffing and sweating cobs! and even more not going shopping in Evans for a glittery black tent for christmas! This is the last year I will do that and Im going to throw all my clothes in a charity bag in january and do some sales shopping, at normal shops..I have even already bought some very pretty underwear few sizes too small and am telling my husband that I will wear it before next christmas! Its something to focus on for us both! and hopefully this will be the last school nativity play that I will be stood up at, for fear of breaking those little kiddy chairs in the school hall!..Im going to make little landmarks for myself..first time I can paint my toe nail and breathe at the same time will be a nice landmark!! croosing my legs will be another one too! not being the fattest mummy in the playground at home time(even tho my boys say Im the prettiest mummy bless em!),going swimming with my boys is another..Its times like that that I get angry with myself..and Ill be so proud of myself when I can do these things for myself and family. We will all get there wont we!! Hope you enjoy the book..its a bit different to the chick lit books i usually read in bed! But suppose were all the same us pre bandsters...its all we think about at the moment..Im getting a bandster bore!..(57 days to go!!) Gillian x

Hi GReek lady....Ooh thats really exciting..december band!!..are you a bit nervous?! I am,and mines not til jan 9th!..Im very excited too. Yes its great to speak to other people who understand!..Im still a bit scared in telling people, even family,as they just dont understand..(they are nearly all thin!) so Im only telling the people that need to know for now. I can understand why Fern Britton didnt tell anyone either..she was seen as a cheat and made to feel ashamed that it was a last resort. She just made me feel more determined that this was something good you could do for yourself..and I salute her!..Its not an easy decision, and its not the easy option as Ive learned from the others on this thread who have already been banded..I think they are very brave,and have done something to improve their lives and health..It has got to benefit themselves and their families quality of life..I cant wait to go into the swimming pool with my kids on holiday, and not sit round the pool in my jeans sweating my head off, and puff and pant my way round the park and shops.and not feel self concious when I go out with my husband..He loves me no matter what, but I wish I could be like I was 16 years ago when I met him! (not 4 stone heavier than he is now!)and when I can shop in a normal clothes shop..Im gonna be thrilled!! (sorry evans!) We are doing the right thing I know it!! I could have had my band fitted this tuesday but wanted to get christmas with the kids out of the way first..they are only young,also needed the time to save up enough money. Wow, you only have a month to go!! cant wait to find out how it goes for you!..wishing you every success!!. Gillian x

Hi TC! thans for all the info you sent me..I think it works out not much different to paying seperatly now..Ill prob be paying about £70-£80 more, but I pay nothing until I get to the hospital and I dont want to lose my date im booked in for now as I have arranged all travel,work and childcare and my 2 dogs care around that date ,but thanks anyway i appreciate that..still Ill see if Frederick gets back to me!. I have nearly read that book I think, but its good to keep for after the op as there is lots of advice in it post op. I havent read it front to back though, I just pick chapters on various things that sound interesting and have got through it that way! wish it had more pictures in it though..and in colour! Vanessa on this forum is going for her first fill tomorrow,she has been banded 4 weeks now, so it will be intersesting to know how she goes on..she has been good enough to answer some of the questions I have asked and is honest in her answers too, which is what we need!,hope she goes on well tomorrow. where do you live TC? Im in Sheffield so the nearest place for a fill would be manchester for me I think?..Gillian x

Its great to speak to people who have recently gone through it all..Im scared of running out of any available door at the hospital when its my time too! ( i wonder if anyone ever actually has?!) Let me know how your fill goes tomorrow,what city you having it in? Im interested to know how they do it,is it under xray etc? is it a 9cc band you have in? suppose he works with the same bands on most people? Did you have to give yourself the anti clot injections when you came out from banding? if so how long for and what are they like??.I hate needles!.Thanks anyway..I appreciate your honest answers..good luck for tomorrow!, Gillian x

Hi Vanessa, Thankyou for that.I have just had an email from doctor Chris saying that he would pass my details onto his management team,after I asked him about the 4000 euro deal. so maybe Ill get an email back from Frederick now!. Hey, youve gone through it all already!..How have you done? did you have reservations? and are you happy with the results? sorry, million and one questions..but does Dr Chris use the same band brand/size for everyone do you know, and does he fill it at all first during the op, or do you have to have it first filled later?..Im really excited about this band..I just hope it works for me,like it seems to have done for most others! Hi TC, I have an appointment to see my GP next tuesday..Ill let you know how she reacted!..hopefully shell be supportive!.I think I must have the wrong email for frederick as my emails are not being delivered. does your surgery price include the hotel and taxis for you and your husband? I heard that there was a special price of 4000euros that they did? mine will cost more than that as Im going through an agency.its that price for just the surgery alone. Its a bad time isnt it as the pound has dropped to its lowest ever against the euro..I will have to shop around for a good rate!..still feel bit guilty though with kids xmas presents and bills etc! Im reading a book at the mo that someone on this site reccomended..it was £9.99 off amazon called..everything you need to know before and after surgery with an adjustable gastric band..it is American, but informative and making me feel less selfish..some inspiring stories too.Im going to start a countdown to my band now!..58 days!..bet I get really nervous when xmas and the new year are over, and ill be starting my pre-op liver shrinking fat free diet boxing day! best get all those xmas goodies eaten very quickly!.you will not be far behind me, only about 2 weeks or so..hope theres somone else having it done at same time in the hospital or at hotel after.
