OMG!..congrats to you!. i was different with each of my pregnancies, sick in morning with one, at night with the other, and not at all with the third..and had 3 boys! i thought my last one was a girl and even bought one pink thing to take into hospital..i laughed when i saw it as i was packing to go home..cos he looked so much like a boy..infact no he looked like a bulldog, he was 9lb.7oz (5 weeks early too!) i shoulda just dressed him in the pink frilly thing for a laugh really! i still wet myself when i remember my first boy (about 18 months at time)wetting himself at bigsisters house and she only had her daughters clothes to dress him in!!..she really went to town tho..he had a pink laura ashley type rosebud dress on,pink tights and burgandy patent t bar shoes, think a mop cap came into it somewhere too:lol:..when i came into the room i collapsed..and then wish id done my pelvic floor exersises!..maybe i have scarred him for life?..or maybe bigsister did?! anyway i gotta go my kids are stirring. Ill try and get on again as soon as i can!:smile2: x -

mmm!..i have gone mad in the clothes sales already..have a next outlet down the road, so picked loads up!..also matalan sale is brill!..nothing cost that much so its great for my upcoming hol in october (where i wont be sat in jeans this time!) homecare! thanks!..my big knicker club is popular..saw some lovely thongs in sale but think theyd still disappear, never to be found! sammy!..well done on your 3 stone too!..ah, watch that italian ice cream...and my favourite..the tiramisu!!.hope you have great hol before you go back to work!..hope you get in those work trousers too! x starsky!..yes the band keeps you on the straight and narrow..it wont let you put the weight back on after you have had a few fills and get a good restriction (sweetspot!). i did ok with xenical too, but OMG!..the side effects!.and of course it all goes back on when you stop it..but the band wont let it..good choice! jackie m!..OMG!..i wish i was a size 12!!..i meant stones!..i didnt explain that very well did i!..still size 18 ish top and 16 bottom..but someday i will report im a size 12!! cant wait! Fatduck!..bigsister having grat time in edinbro! she just been on an underground city tour or summat!?..sounded great but scary!..i wanna go!..she is looking all over for edinbro rock for me, but says she cant find any yet!..either..has but ate it all...is helping me lose weight...or not looked hard enough cos shes having great time in those yummy restaurants..mmmm! (not that she can eat much!) Lischa!..WLS is great choice..if you book a package before end of this month its at a reduced price..very good and it doesnt start till your first appointment for fill. yes you will need to take all the info about your band which dr chris gives on leaving.19lbs is brill loss and yes it is normal to stall after such a good loss, and even put some on!(i did as many others have!)..dont worry as soon as you have had a few fills youll start losing again! its disappointing after good start i know how you feel!.maybe tho..its cos its time of month and also cos you cant go to the loo?..try a liquid laxative like lactolose or summat..it will get you moving in every way again hopefully! carriejess!..hope you had great birthday!..your doing brill and have got your head round this band just right!..you seem to have 'surrendered to the band!' now, and are letting it work for you..thats great! Garry!..im keeping my fingers crossed..as is everyone else that your band is ok...you could do with having xray to see position of it etc..also a 'fluid challenge'. like what wendy did for bigsister when she had the same worries.. she took all of the fluid out to see if it was all there, then she filled her back up to the max..just to show her what max restriction was like, she had to hang around at the hosp a while so she could keep an eye on her..she ended up having some took out and is now at her sweet spot with good losses. she said that if that hadnt given her the restriction then the next scenario would be xray to see if it had come undone. lets hope this isnt the case for you..fingers crossed! x flirty stayed one more day in hosp as the doctor wanted to make sure her drains stayed in as long as poss before she flew home tonight..she is doing so well, and is absolutly over the moon..its great to know shes so happy with the results..she deserves it and has now reached the end of her journey!! well done flirty! -

 welcome starsky and babyboys! this is the forum to be on if you want or have a band! :thumbup:carriejess Happy birthday...and well done!! :thumbup:homecare, you are now a member of my big knicker club!...and i still wear em now! everyone else Hello!, me and bigsister went to see flirty yesterday..she is amazingly well!. and like bigsister said lovely inside and out..hopefully shell be out of hospital today and she was even talking about going into leeds today on a clothes shopping trip!!.cant believe it! i would def use that surgeon and hospital for a tummy tuck etc..what a neat job he has done! hospital staff seemed lovely too, its methley park hospital in leeds, and her surgeon was oliver fenton if anyones considering surgery after weight loss..it will be a few years of saving up for me ...even though the prices are good. hopefully bigsister will have one soon though, maybe at the same hosp as we were both impressed. i have now lost 3 stone, and it seems to be a steady loss now of about pound a week which i am more than happy with..i have seen the 16s,15s,14s,13s and have another few pounds to get into the 12s!..not seen that weight for 11 years!. i am on hol first 2 weeks of october, and i may even buy a swimming costume instead of sitting around the pool in jeans in the blazing sun!..i have bought 2 sarongs in readiness anyway! x -

i had this exactly homecare..its a good description you gave..it really bothered me so much that i thought i was gonna have to have surgery again to adjust port..i kept asking if other people had had it like you are...but no one had at that time..even getting up off the settee was really painfull and i was feeling like i had to hold it in all the time, it was awfull..i got it about 2 weeks post op and it lasted about 8 weeks in all, maybe a bit longer..i did have one week inbetween where it disappeared, then it returned bad like yours. maybe its because we have heavy lifting jobs?..and when bending or stretching the muscle its not healing..i wondered if it was a torn muscle or summat?..i dunno, but i took anti infammatorys, and found hot water bottle helped.. i also bought one of those heatpads..its like a big plaster that warms up..and that did seem to help a bit..also..have you got some very tight high waist nipper support pants..cos they can help, esp when at work. but all i can tell you otherwise is that it will go..i woke up one morning and it had gone..i thought it would come back, but it didnt! i could then wear normal clothes as i was wearing sloppy stuff as owt else hurt.. and it stopped hurting when i had lost the most weight in a month after a good fill. wendy said it would loosen off with weight loss...so keep going!!.hopefully it will be gone soon for you too...but i do know how your feeling..get some of those heat pad plasters and big tight corset or summat! it will help x -

oh yes singing parrot... i was really worried about tummy bugs and being sick too. i had a tummy bug 2 weeks ago, mainly the other end (nice!)not right sick, but was very nauseous. other people who have been sick with bug..have vomited as it just gets past it, but the main thing is not to eat and to drink a lot to help it either thro..or get it up, also to stop being dehydrated. but after you seem to have diminished appetite as your stomach is swelled around the band from the exertion, and should just stick to liquids, pref cold with nutrients, like slimfast etc and have lots of actimel to sort your stomach out (good bacteria!) after you stop being sick. hope thats put your mind at rest x -

hi everyone!..not been on for 4 days, and had some catching up to do!!..its moved fast this weekend...glad that mmm and freckles are doing better after a scary overfill!..i had my sweet spot for about 5 weeks but it has loosened of a bit now after good weight loss last month, which i know happens..there are still stuff i cant tolerate esp potatoes and bread, but what i can eat has increased. someone was saying that they were suprised that duck went down well?..well i also have found out that greasy meats go down easier..i can have lamb and duck..but struggle with beef and even chicken sometimes. ..it must be able to slip thro easier cos of grease lubricating it?!. i was at a music festival this weekend "splendour in nottingham" 10 hours i was stood in mainly rain..waiting for my favourite band of the line up...madness!..but it was cold dark and miserable by then so couldnt get into the mood so came away half way thro even tho we got near to front of stage.. flirty is doing so well!! she was up and walking this morning, but the 4 drains she has are bothering her..i hated those drains, but they are essential i suppose. so better having em than not. freckles ,so pleased to hear your mum is doing so well, shell soon be home! garry i hope your band hasnt come undone and its just playing silly buggers!..mine has a bit..bigsister gail was scared hers had come undone after not getting any restriction.so wendy did a "fluid challenge" and drained it then topped it up to capacity..she had to wait around at the hosp a bit, but was relieved to know she had got the restriction..and she even had some took out next appointment..its really fine tuning, but shes happy shes losing well now, cos if that hadnt worked wendy was gonna arrange a fluoro x ray. so dont despair..you just may need to have a capacity fill like she had, just to test it..cos youd have no restriction at all if it had come undone...lets hope not, ill keep my fingers crossed for you everyone else, your doing great!..we will get there! x -

a woman i know who was banded last year has gin and tonic...she asks for a stirrir and stirs at it all the time to get the fizz out as shes drinking it..she also carries little sachets of sugar and drops a pinch into coke to get the fizz mostly out too. i can drink lager just as i could before no prob..i was on wine for a while tho as i didnt think i would be able to.. i would think that guinness is a good one yes, or have a spirit with fruit juice...vodka and cranberry or summat like?.have a great night anyway! x -

i used bio oil as soon as incisions were healed.i have used it twice a day since..dunno if it has made any difference but scars are nice, flat and fading..i dunno, maybe they would be anyway, but it doesnt hurt to try it..i also exposed my belly (while no one was looking...i hope?!) while i was sat outside in the sun(on that one rare day last week!)..that seemed to help blend them in too..put some sun lotion on tho, cos its new skin x -

 hi everyone.. for those of you wanting to know how to get in touch to make an appointment with wendy at WLS.. you can go onto their website and email or preferably phone for any info or to make a booking on...0800 78 79 029 . this will put you through to colleen who arranges things. you get sent a pack out with all the info in also.( if you get thro to answer phone leave a message and colleen will be right back to you) wendys next clinic in dublin is weds 5th august i think...you can have a "pay as you go" fill also, but the 6 month package is excellent value now at £275 for 6 months complete care including unlimited fills/unfills. wendy really knows her stuff, and is lovely. she is at each of the venues (someone listed them yesterday) once a month and at harley street every weekend i think.. you can go every two weeks for a fill or advice, getting you to your sweet spot really quickly. me and big sister go to the sheffield clinic (just down road from us luckily!) and also to the leeds one 40 mins away if need be. x -

(maybe it is one that got stuck?!) mine were all dented in when i was post op too..i cant feel them now, and the scars are flat and fading well now. -

homecare..well done on your weight loss so far!.i lost the stone or so that people lose post op in first few weeks easily, then i lost couple more pounds over couple of weeks, then it stalled for about 6 weeks..even after first fill. i have lost a few pounds a month since, and last month my best yet of 8lb. its strange sometimes you think youve been really good, then you lose nothing!, the opposite happens too..now me and big sister seem to have our sweet spot, we seem to have started up again..but a lot of people have said that it does start moving again after 6 months post op..so looking forward to shedding more now!. i too have a very underactive thyroid so have been having blood tests..and cos of my weight loss my dosage has been reduced as my TFTs are up..so suppose thats advantage ,but will slow weight loss down maybe?!..hope not tho! it sounds like your very near to restriction with what you say?..i cant eat any type of potato, even really mashed up with gravy. i have also had some of those morrisons kids fish pies!.i found it hard going tho cos of potato content..i think my problem is i still trough..i eat like i always did, not chewing enough and too fast..then after a few mouth fulls its...ouch!!..gotta slow down and chew more.x -

well me and big sister went to see wendy today..i lost 8lb(some due to tummy bug!), and big sister lost 6lb..were both really pleased..i didnt have a fill, as i am fine, but bigsister had a tiny drop took out as she was bit tight. were going to join another 6 month programme, as were at the end, and take advantage of the current offer. by the way, wendy told us to warn people about a woman who is doing a "mobile fill" she comes to your house, has no insurance and isnt experienced enough. she says she has buggered some bands up by accidently piercing tubing i think. so beware, and just use a reputable company. I havent heard of her or heard of anyone who uses her anyway. x -
