:eek:OMFG!!!!!!!...what on earth is going on here?!?!..not even looked at the forum since last september, bigsister told me there was a bit of action on at mo....and...there is one very angry person on here..whats the problem?!! were a support forum! we share valuable experiences (however disgusting you think our problems are?!) we say it how it IS..and sometimes we are releived to hear others have the same..embarrasing problems..if you aint got owt nice to say....then dont say owt at all?!...anyway...hope everyone is doing well, good luck to anyone going out for banding. ill try to put in a bit more of an appearence..but only when the 'bitching' stops, and it gets back to supporting each other again like all but one of us have ever done!..Im doing ok by the way...its just over a year now..and going for first fill since sept tomorrow with wendy..then can get back on track and hopefully kick my ass into gear again! gillian x:rolleyes2: -

it is exciting though chapamar!..we have all felt that way!..nervous too but excited yes!..your date will be here before you know it. you are travelling a long way too..so must be even more surreal for you. is there any reason you are having the surgery done in belgium rather than the states?..Chris de Bruyne is a highly experienced bariatric surgeon..and apparantly the second busiest in the world..just wondered how you heard about him as i know the states has a lot of experienced surgeons also. sorry i sound like im being nosey now!?! you dont have to answer. good luck anyway, and im sure youll get great aftercare once back home x -

:thumbup:congratulations to you and the freckles family!!..beautiful baby girl..Gabrielle, thats lovely! (and yes you do look great freckles!) chapamar..you will be able to swallow the laxative tablets and vitamin tablets after op dont worry. you can get a vitamin syrup like 'seven seas' or similar if you prefer though..and i used a liquid laxative called lactolose..although you wont need it for a few days as the barium they give you does act as a laxative yes!. toppings..i had port pain for about 10 weeks after op and it hurt everytime i bent down etc..like stitch. wear some belly warmer tight support knickers..it helps! also hot water bottle..it will go though as you lose the weight dont worry..its just stitched a little tight like mine prob..it will loosen hope everyone else is great?! :blushing: gillian x -

hi chapamar..i would recommend the ready made protein shakes, drinking yoghurts, also cup-a-soups (or any sachets of powdered soups, without croutons that you pour boiling water onto in a mug) also fruit juices such as apple orange,cranberry..if someone is going with you to belgium..then these items can be purchased from a supermarket (Lidl) a 10 min walk in vilvoorde from the hospital and hotel. they are a very reasonable price, and you could stock up from there the day before your op. by the time you get to england..youll be able to get soups at any restaraunt. good luck for your forthcoming op. gillian x -

hi freckles..hope your ok apart from your bowel prob?..im sure youll get it sorted soon..good luck!..also hope your mum and the rest of your family are all doing well? not long for baby princess now!. i cant eat any potato easily at all, and mashed seems to be the worst, as like you say..it clogs. have just started having little bit of bread now but have to eat it slowly..garlic bread goes down well if im having it with chilli or something moist. i think my sweet spot is just disappearing after 3 months, which i know is normal if you have decent weight loss as the fat around your stomach but under your band lessens too..and it appears to loosen. i dont know whether to have a drop in tho, as im having some took out in another 5 weeks the day before i fly on holiday..i might leave it..ill see what wendy says. hope everyone else is doing well? gillian x -

Hi oliverdog, welcome to the forum...your in the right place for an understanding ear..were very supportive and were all at different stages and have all been thro all the questions ourselves..so whatever..ask away, well talk about anything..im not on much at the mo but someone will answer your questions. good luck, youve made a great choice with doctor chris..im only 5 foot too with other probs and i have about 3 to 3 and half stone more to lose..im halfway there now..i never thought id get this far as like you tried every diet..lost..put more back on etc..but this REALLY does work, sometimes its hard and its not a miracle, but basicly, it makes you stick to a diet!..it gives you no choice this band! x -

(i will be one day, but ill be a nice size 8 who doesnt judge anyone overweight, cos ill know how they feel!) anyway welcome back everyone who has just had bands..and garry with your repair..hope your all ok and taking it easy for a few more days. i hope everyone else is doing fantastic too..im not on so much nowadays but still check in once a week, if anyone wants me for owt inbetween PM me x -

.just a quick one before kids hog the computer for the rest of the day!(still five n a half weeks of hol to go:cursing:!!) well just had another quick skim thro...so sorry if i have missed any birthdays:sad:..but hope you have or had great days!!. sorry if i have missed any questions too, its nowt personal! Bev,the ride incident.. its crap, and i can understand you laughing it off, but i know very well how you felt inside! and that incident with the plane seatbelt was so awful, but wasnt justice done with the duty free bottles!!.i hope those three women sat opposite get very fat when theyre older!!. but we who know would never be that shallow enough to laugh..we will have empathy and understanding, which will make us better people than them anyday!. and jackie...i havent took my 2 younger kids swimming ever either..i sat on the side watching a few days ago while they were in with their dad!.its sad we feel like that..i used to take my older son cos i was a single parent..but was so much slimmer then. i am going to buy a cossie this year tho for my hol in october..still looking, but got some sarongs to cover up flabby belly bit ready!..i WILL get in the pool and sea!..and also can i be there when you drag your teenagers to the swimming pool to play!!!! love to see that..LOL!. Garry, good luck with your op:thumbup: and all the best wishes to those being banded on friday!!. went to see wendy yesterday..i didnt have a fill..not had one since beginning of june..i lost another 4lbs( lost 4lb of fat..but gained 1lb of muscle)..so that shows that you can lose the inches without losing the weight! been bit more active over the last month.big sister disappointed with not losing, but they say its the hardest time when you only have stone or two to go.i have lent her my stepper, sure it will kick start her up again!..i think they are really good especially the new ones that move from side to side, quick and easy, cheap and dont take much room up. anyway i hope to clock in again sometime tomorrow! gillian x -
