My weight as on Nov. 6 is 181 lbs. I'm not sure how to make a ticker work for the xmas challenge and I forgot what I started out at....sorry... But I have lost 24 lbs so far.

Hi BJean again, You will notice it soon, that is where I have noticed it, in my clothes, I am wearing jeans that I haven't been able to wear in 4 years, I went down two sizes, no more plus sizes. I can actually button all of my little jean jackets that I saved. I'm not going to buy anything new though until I loose more, I'll just wear my comfortable matching active wear. My problem areas are the hips and the stomach. Hang in there, you will soon!!!

HI BJean, I have just been following the doctors orders as to what I eat. I haven't started working out yet because I still get pains. Lets see I don't eat, carbs like bread, Pasta, NO sweats at all, meat makes me sick. I have tried a few times but it wasn't worth me getting sick..I'm sure in time I will be eating it again. I mostly have my Protein drinks, carnation instant Breakfast sugar free with skim milk 4-5 x's a day. I eat unsweetned applesauce, strawberries, sugar free pudding, for my chocolate fix. I eat alot of the 99% fat free cream of broccoli, that fills me up. I like to eat it from other places, like Quiznos, subway has a really good one, and other places. I never like that kind of stuff but I wanted to lose weight so I changed my whole way of thinking to eat. I drink alot of Water all day long. Thats about it. I get my first fill next thursday. I am pretty shocked myself for the weight coming off. I wasn't expecting it. I feel good too, I'm not hungry.

I lost another 3.5 pounds this week...I was weighed at the doctors office
-
My BMI was 35.2, sorry I said it was 39. I have heart disease and other stuff, my weight was 203, but I was approved. If I wasn't approved I was ready to fight. Anyways, I had the surgery sept. 20th and am feeling great, lost 22 lbs so far. Best thing for me ever, I see my cardiologist in November and he will be proud of me. Don't give up.

My first fill is in November. I can't believe I lost more weight, I didn't think I did until I stepped on the scale. I don't have a scale at home. I don't want to jump on it all the time, so my daughter has Daisy's on Mondays, and at the place they have a scale, so that's when I jump on.

I finally got the surgery. My BMI was 39.3, I was denied right before my surgery. I got the letter, called my doctors office they got on the phone with BC/BS Anthem of NH, and they approved it..within 2 hours, so I was able to get the surgery done. It is the best thing I have done. Yes it was hard for the 1st few weeks, but I stick to the diet plan, and have lost 22 lbs since September 20th! I wish everyone luck! Hang in there

Thanks for your help on mushies..I don't eat seafood though. I'll have to come up with some chicken stuff and put it in my food processor. I'm not hungry though, NOT at all, food doesn't even interest me, but I have to make myself eat. Its an aweful not wanting to eat, it was always the opposite. So if anyone has any other good mushie foods to eat please let me know, or some HIGH protein drinks that I can make with fruit. I am getting no fruit, nothing really.
-
I'm having a hard time coming up with mushie foods to eat, It seems like I am not eating anything because I don't know what to make...any suggestions? Since I don't know what to eat, I'm just drinking protein shakes again... Thanks for your help!!
-
I'll do the challenge too. Just let me know how to do a new ticker
-
scrambled eggs, i forgot about those, yum! Thanks for the suggestions!

I never liked low fat food until this surgery, its amazing how good anything tastes! I don't think I would like good with alot of sugar in it, it would be too sweet for me. I'm going to try beans mashed up with a fork, baked beans, those sound good. A little mashed potatoes, and mashed up chicken in the food processor.

On friday I start on Mushies, it will be day 16. I have not cheated. How do people have food like Pizza between their surgery and then the mushie stage? I'm too afraid to try anything unless I get the ok from my doctor. I see him tomorrow again. I have only done what the doctor tells me, otherwise the band would be a waste of surgery for him, me, my family and the insurance company. Anyone have any good suggestions for starting on mushies? I want to take it slow. I will be on them for 14 days before I can try normal stuff. Thanks!

Congrats Bettina!! It's been a week and 2 days, and I am STILL moving slowly, but I know in time I will feel better. I've always been the type of person that takes forever to heal.

I have an infection, which we knew I had, so he changed medicines. I am having an allergic reaction to something that was done with the surgery, it might have been the sterile tape that they put on you, it was just removed yesterday. I still have lots of port pain, I mean it hurts just to walk, I can't stand straight, or sit straight, I have to real careful or forget it. He said he will see me next week to see how things are, then work from there, unless of course something comes up.

I was scheduled for surgery on September 20th. That week before the insurance company got my information on a Tuesday, denied me by Friday, I called teh doctors office in tears, and the surgeon and his administrative assistant contacted my insurance company and the decision was turned around and I was approved. I had my surgery as planned on the 20th. I was very worried myself, I knew that I would be denied only because my BMI is low, but I have co-morbities, but I didn't expect such a quick turn around. I think alot had to do with the surgeons office, mine was the BEST, I cannot thank them enough

hi Erin S, We got banded on the same day! I'm going to see the surgeon today for a checkup, but I am just not healing I think as everyone else. The site where my port is hurts not stop, like a sharp ache all day and night, its hard to sleep, no meds help me fall asleep, I have been drinking everything that I am supposed to be drinking plus the protein they tell me to drink, which I love (Carnation, sugare free w/skin milk). I still don't have that sensation to urinate, so I'll ask him today what that is all about. I make myself go and I have to push. I was never like this before, even if I didn't drink much before, I still always went to the bathroom, even twice in the middle of the night. I haven't weighed myself, I have no scale yet.
-
My port still hurts also, its been 8 days. You can't even touch my skin near it, its a sharp pain. The pain that I feel is a constant pain all day and night, so I'm not sleeping much, nothing takes the edge off of it. I'm on a antibiotic, have been since I got out of the hospital but nothing seems to help. I can't even have clothes touch the area. I get that same lump in my threat, like my chest is caving in. I go to the doctors today, so I'll have to see what he has to say. I guess I'm not healing like everyone else

hi, I am drinking alot of water and drinking my 5 protein shakes, plus popsicles and jello. I'll find out tomorrow. Thanks!
-
Hi, I had no catheter. I just don't feel the urge to go. I make myself go every hour, but I have to push, no natural urge at all.
-
hmm..I wonder why my doctor didn't do that. I see him tomorrow. The area where my port is, is very very sore, a sharp pain to move and touch. Touching it makes me scream thats how much it hurts. I cannot go to the bathroom either unless I force myself to go, I get no signal that little tickle feeling to go anymore??? Anybody else had this? I will let him know everything tomorrrow.
-
what is going in for your barium? I didn't have that done after my band was put in??

I had surgery on September 20th. I was in the hospital for 2 nights because they wanted to monitor me and blood thinners that I am on, plus something happened during surgery, my liver was bleeding and they wanted to make sure everything was okay. I have had pain since the surgery were the port is. I ended up with a skin infection, but the medicine doesn't seem to be clearing it up, so I am going to the doctors tomorrow for my checkup. Its been hard with the liquids, but I am doing it. I don't want to screw up anything inside of me. My neighbor heard I had surgery (didn't know what kind of surgery) so she brought over homemade lasagna, cookies and fresh bread! I didn't want to tell her about what type of surgery, I thanked her very very much! My husband and girls are enjoying it. I wanted a piece, but I didn't because I was too afraid. Has anyone had a problem with not being able to tell if you need to go to the bathroom? I have had this problem since I came home friday night. I don't get the tingle to go. i have to actually go and sit on the toilet to make myself go??? I can't wait for some smushies...mashed potatoes
