Yea, I can totally understand. My sister well, has been kinda supportive infact she has started coming to get me after her 5mile walk so we could walk 1mile together. I guess what I am trying to say is I feel uncomfortable talking to people that do not understand my inablitity to control myself without being banded. You are fortunate you have more than one friend. I sugest the chat room on this site. It has been really helpful supportive and encouraging. Do they have support groups in your town? Those might be helpful too.

I love salmon personally I just buy costco salmon patties and roast garlic and put it on the top with a little lemon there are 170cal and 20g of protien good luck on finding that perfect recipe

The slipping of the band can happen I had a friend that she drank soda against doctors orders and eventually had to have her band removed because the pouch was so streched and band had slipped. The doctor refused to adjust the band because she refused to change her ways. I drink flat soda mixed in my protien shake it tastes great that way. You might want to give that a try. Good luck Stay safe

Wasn't able to do full 2 weeks of pre-op diet.
sharmom replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I did not start until 1 week before surgery they did not weigh me or anything they just want you to know that your liver has shrunk and you will be able to handle the diet after surgery. there are some really resonable protien shakes out there what kind did you get? -

sharmom replied to Southern Missy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Do you need clothes I have some that I was putting in the yardsale pile. I have quite a few things I like Jjill and others like that I love style. I would be glad to send them to you for shipping cost I would love for them to go to a good home. I have loved fashion for years the only thing is I am 5'11 -
This all should be contained in your pre authorization. Your person at the doctor should be the one worried about this. Get excited because you are going to love the band and the results. do you have a good support person?

I think I'm eating tooo much
sharmom replied to Marcie1997's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you can keep a protien drink with you. My doc gave a fill at surgery. I have problems swallowing things. I think I am hungry and for god sakes I do not want to loose my hair due to not enough protien. are you eating enough protien? I was banded 9/28 and am down 12lbs also make sure you do not drink up to 90min after you eat your protien. Hope this helps -
20 lbs is ok the hamburgers not ok. I am surprised you could swallow that much I was banded 9/28 and have only lost 12 lbs. Are you driniking enough water. DONT be so hard on yourself. I am having problems with getting off my butt and walking. Next time you want burgers just eat the meat part. Dont give up you have come to far. Some people need adjustments when they are able to eat that much. Chin up. Go to the doc and get a fill.
-
usually such as in my case they got pre approvial for 3 fills and visits on my tricare approval form. If you need a code tricare.com you can find all your personal info on there. Good luck I was banded 9/26 i am tricare standard.
-
somewhere on the tricare website there is a place that you can look at where your claim is as far as processed or approved or pending. The person at the doctors office should have told you about this place. Have them check into it. Good Luck
-
Tri care standard is better for lap band because you do not need all the pre authorizations. I just had surgery 3wks ago and it took 3 days for approval. The insurance lady said standard is way easier than prime. so far I have only had to pay 700.00 out of pocket I even spent the night in the hospital. Dont give up. go to military.com and type in Lap-band it will give you more info
-
Switch to tricare standard if you can. Prime will pay for it except it takes much longer with pre authorizations. Check out the web site military.com and type in Lap-band They will give you numbers that you can contact someone in person. it took 3 days for standard to approve me I am a spouse of a retired army man. my surgery was on 9/26/08 Do not give up because they are paying for the lap band my out of cost expence so far has only been 700.00 Keep on it. email me if you need more help
-
You need the pre aproval with tricare prime. Is there anyway to switch to tricare standard? I am tricare standard and it took 3 days to get approval. So far all I have had to pay is 700.00 my surgery was9/26/08 go to military.com the have some info and you can also call them on the phone they answered many questions for me. Dont give up even if they say no you can re apply
-
I am so glad you got your approval. I am a wife of a retired army military man. My total cost was around 700.00
