  1. I will tell you this has been one heck of a journey. I am starting to feel comfortable now with my lap band. I went through so much worry and alittle bit of regret and then I thought I was selfish so now I know why you have to get a psych eval before getting this surgery done because this surgery is not for the weak. I thought before I had this surgery that this would be a quick fix to my weight but through this journey I realized I am extremely strong and have enough will power to accomplish anything I put my mind to. You all who have done this can probably relate that you start seeing what an extraordinary person you actually are. This is a defining moment in your life and one you will never forget. I hope all of you who are thinking about having the surgery done will do so because it will bring you back to loving yourself again!! Kelly

I am now 4 weeks out with band!!

Congratulations!! Dec 1st will be your new birthday.lol I love it!! I will always celebrate October 16, 2008 when the new Kelly arrived. I hope you do the same. Now off that subject and on to football, I love football as well, high school, college, and NFL. My teams are doing horrible though as far as College and NFL, can you guess who? UofM and Lions.
  4. Hello fellow bandsters and soon to be bandsters. I was banded October 16th and everything you all are going through is normal. I am eating now and I still feel a bit hungry after 4 0z but I do not want to overeat and have it come back up so I just get busy and do other things. Make sure you follow what your Dr. says to do though because you want this to be successful and not have any complications!! I hope all of you are as happy with the band as I am. I would not have lost the weight I have without my little band buddy around my stomach and my husband and I are communicating better now I have more confidence and it has only been 4 weeks imagine in a year how we will all feel!!

I am now 4 weeks out with band!!

Congratulations on your approval:) You will definetly succeed and yes imagine yourself 40lbs lighter and you feel great. You have more energy!!! I eat scrambled eggs for breakfast and before I eat my eggs I have a 8 oz cup of milk for more protein or I will eat oatmeal for breakfast. I am up to 4 oz now with eating. Lunch I will usually have tuna fish with light mayo on 4 crackers or I will have cottage cheese and a canned vegetable and for dinner I have chicken or turkey with a canned vegetable. I love this new way of eating. I also will give you a tip my new soda is now fruit2O water and there are many different flavors. That is my treat now and I love it. I also recommend Edy's no sugar added Ice Cream that is made with splenda but only once in a while because there is still 4 grams of sugar total. Good luck and I know you will do great!!
  6. No I have not, but I am looking forward to my first fill December10th. I am exercising(walking) daily even in this Michigan weather and I am drinking alot of fluids. I have slipped a bit with the diet but I get right back on track and remember why I did this to begin with. Thank you for the support. Much appreciated
  7. I had the Lap Band surgery on October 16th at Hurley in Flint. My doctor was Dr. Farhan and he is a very good Dr. I recommend him to everyone!! I have lost a total of 26lbs so far and I walk 35minutes a day. I am excited for my first fill because I am starting to feel hungry and can eat more so I am nervous and of course I want this to succeed which it will but I also have my fears. My access port incision is hurting a bit right now but the nurses say that is normal and that is just settling in. I hope they are right!! I want to say hello to you all and good luck:thumbup: Kelly

I am now 4 weeks out with band!!

No I have not had my first fill but I am looking forward to it!!! I did this for a reason and it was to curve my appetite and to lose as much weight with the bands help so I can play with my children. Your 20lbs is extraordinary:) I am very proud of you. Without the band you would not have done same with my weight loss!!
  10. Thank you, and you will do great. If you need support I am here as well as the rest of the bandsters!! You deserve this and you will feel so much better!! I am loving this because I have more energy and my knees are not hurting as much anymore:) You will do great!!

    Port Pain??

My surgery was 10/16 and I definetly have the port pain and I feel it from under my left breast down to my belly button, but there is a sharp pain at times right above my port incision which sucks but my friend that had the band surgery in June said that will go away in a month or two:) Something to look forward to!!
