Hi Watcher,
I had a flouroscopy on Friday and it was discovered my band had slipped. The signs something was wrong with me was two weeks ago I had really bad acid reflux, persistent coughing and waking up in the middle of the night gagging and vomiting in sleep. Was I too tight? I was able to eat 3 meals a day, drink my fluids and exercise with no problem. When I called dr's office two weeks ago and told them I could still eat solids and drink the drs asst told me it didnt sound like I was to tight but I did not feel right and I couldnt get rid of the coughing and acid reflux. That is when I had the flouroscopy. I go back in 3 weeks for another flouroscopy to see if the part of my stomach that rose above my band goes back underneath. If not, I assume I will be getting a revision or band removal. However, I'm hoping to be able to keep my band! I had my lapband surgery in March, 2006, have lost around 85 lbs and never had any problems until this past spring when it seemed I was getting filled and then unfilled just trying to find sweet spot. Don't know if this answers your question, but just wanted to let you know that for me, I didn't feel too tight and didn't have trouble getting food down, it was the acid reflux and coughing that triggered my concern. I should note that my dr said that a slippage only occurs in around 2% of people with band? How honored I feel to be among the chosen few! lol
