You've probably hit a plateau. Dont worry, it passes. You probably need to change things up a little. Different exercise routine, different food. Are you writing down what you eat? You will see results again. Maybe you've lost inches instead of pounds, which is even better. It happens to everyone. It passes.

yOU NEED ANOTHER FILL, THATS ALL? yOUR STOMACH SHRINKS AND UR BAND GETS LOOSE.

What are the best protein drinks and why.
lipstix64 replied to msbrady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctors suggested Isopure Perfect low carb. I bought chocolate and vanilla and got great deals on them at vitaminshoppe.com.. They have 50 grams of Protein. -
Youre supposed to eat more meat, thats where your Protein comes from, not salad. No nutritional value in lettuce. This doctor is absolutely right. Green vegetable are a better choice. But protein must be eaten first to fill you up longer. Salad doesnt fill you up unless you load it with nuts, seeds,m avacadoes, etc. What kind of a doctor tells you to eat salad instead of protein? My doctor is very well-known in lapband and never suggested salad instead of protein. Protein is what should be eaten first to keep you fuller longer.

According to my doctor, who is very knowledgable anf know for lap band surgery, protein should be eaten first in order to keep you fuller longer, followed by vegetables, then carbohydrates. Lettuce greens DONT KEEP YOU FULL!! They really have no nutritional value other than being loaded with water. No real fiber is lettuce. Any green vegetable are great like broccoli, spinach, kale. So that doctor is right. Salads are not satidfying and they do get stuck. It really isnt a sound nutritional choice. Stick to protein and actual vegetables, not useless lettuce leaves.

Dont get discouraged, my restriction didnt take effect until the 3rd fill and then Bam! I now have to chew food really well and take small bites, but I still will have to PB(Productive Burp) once in a while. Im a fast eater, cant help it. What your feeling is called Bandster hell, I think. No restriction and your relying on your willpower. Its friggin tough. I was told to wait 6 weeks before I got another fill. The want to do your fills slowly so you can adjust. It will happen. Good luk!

4th fill; am I too tight? How do I know?
lipstix64 replied to mgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yOU MIGHT BE TOO TIGHT, BUT FOR THE MOST PART, THATS THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE. yOUS HOULDNT BE ABLE TO GUZZLE Water ANY MORE AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE SMALL BITES AND CHEW SLOWLY. yOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT AT LEAST 4OZ OF food PER MEAL AND IT SHOULD TAKE U ABOUT 1/2 HOUR OR 45 MINS -
Ok- here goes: It is not a full feeling like you ate too much. When u are banded, you have a small pouch at the top of your stomach that gets filled when you eat too much. So, when that gets filled, you literally, physically CANT eat anymore. If you try to eat more, you will not be able to get it down and you will feel like the food is just sitting there at the top of your band and you will throw it up. Thats called a PB or Productive Burp. Sliming is when you have eaten too much and now will produce a lot of slimey saliva and then you feel like u will throw up and YOU WILL THROW UP! Thats why u have to take small bites, chew alot and eat slowly. Also, there will be times when you eat so fast and dont chew, that you will get a pain in your chest that is horrible. So, its is nothing like eating so much that youre sickeningly full, your band gets full. I still want to eat, but I cant. Not a big deal. Follow the rules and that wont happen. Good luck.

First of all, Girls. You should not have chest pains or get out of breath when talking. Nor should your stomach be "killing" you. You really need to talk to your doctors again about these symptoms. Its normal to feel pain after surgery where your incisions are and maybe the first day your chest might hurt, but you should not have breathing problems.

How do you NOT drink with meals?
lipstix64 replied to WishUponABand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was told not to drink anything 30 minutes before meals and 30 minutes afterwards. -
Dont worry. Thats normal. I had no restriction until the 3rd fill and WOW!!!! Be careful what you wish for. I definitely have restriction now. Its different for everyone. My doc does a fill, gives me a glass of Water and waits to make sure I can get it down, because sometimes they can make it so tight that you cant even sawllow your own saliva. Maybe your fill will work on the 2nd one, maybe the third. Good luck!

i miss my food so much
lipstix64 replied to cindie74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It stands for Productive Burp, which is what happens when you dont chew enough, eat too much, or east too fast. Your band becomes very uncomfortably full, you will produce alot of thick saliva and will feel like you have to throw up becuase that food wont go down. The only way to get relief is to throw up. Hope that helps. -
Whats a "Troll" post?
-
Yup, sounds like you have been overfilled. Call you doc for maybe a slight unfill. Thats a really uncomfortable feeling. Dont wait.
-
Are you throwing up a lot? Can u swallow your saliva? Not eating enough? If you think your too tight, you probably are. Call the doc for an unfill.

Is there any help for gas after lapband surgery?
lipstix64 commented on CatLover1963's blog entry in Blog 49535
OMG!!! Please buy Pysllium Husk Powder. You mix it with water and drink it two or 3 times a day. I was so constipated that I would bleed from forcing myself. This was recommended by my cousin's freind and she was so right. At first, until u get used to the extra fiber, you will have some gas and a little bloating, then u will go normally and it foesnt give you the runs or diarrhea. This is a godsend to me. I buy it from vitaminshoppe.com good luck -
Staples, Stitches or Glue?
lipstix64 replied to Suzdavis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No stitches, glue, or staples. My incisions were covered with Steri-Strips and then covered with Gauze. After a few days, the gauze fell off and a couple weeks later the stri-strips started falling off. -
thick saliva anyone?
lipstix64 replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are now officially entered into the Lapband club of "Sliming or PB'ing(productive burp)". This is what happens when you eat too fast, take big bites, and dont chew well. When you do any of these things, you will produce a lot of saliva and when u throw up, it might come up with all that saliva just as you swallowed it. That happens to me because I eat way too fast. Its all trial and erro. I would say almost everyone here has experienced that at one time or another. Remember, small bites, chew well, eat slow. Good luck!! -

Feeling a bit weak
lipstix64 replied to MissChristina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The reason is hunger- you arent taking in enough calories. Call your doctor for advice. -

Good luck to you, but get rid of #1- tucking your shirt into your jeans if very outdated. -
Do you still feel hungry?
lipstix64 replied to anymouse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is what I've learned since being banded in October. I have had 3 fills already and then finally the 3rd time was a charm. But, let me tell you. When everyone says they are full, they dont mean "full" like we know it to be. But, now you only can eat till the band is satisfied. Listen, you really arent hungry much, it really is just something we are ll used to feeling. My idea of being full is eating till I'm sick. That is what full is. LAP BAND FULL HAS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT MEANING!! When I eat now, I PHYSICALLY CANT EAT ANYMORE TO GET THAT SICK TO MY STOMACH FULL. Now, I can only eat until THE BAND is full. I still want to eat, but this band wont let me. Thats the difference. And, it stays full for hours. If I try to eat more, I will end up throwing up ro relieve the horrible discomfort. So, that is what stops us from overeating: 1. You CANT eat anymore, even if you want to. 2. If you try to eat more, you will produce alot of saliva and it gets so uncomfortable, you will have to throw up or you get such pain in your upper stomach, that its just not worth it to overeat. Get it? -
