Sorry to tell you, but YOU DO HAVE AN ADDICTION TO PILLS AND ALCOHOL. I am not judging you, but I fear for you. Your dependence on the alcohol and pills is a serious matter and you are in denial aobut your addiction, and it is just like all of our addictions to food. Its no different. Never mind that this will erode your band; you have much bigger issues that that right now. Please seek help from your doctor and he will be able to help you find a program for these addictions. The first step is to acknowledge that you have a problem. Look how you acknowledged your weight being a problem. Its the same thing. It will take some time and you will do it. Please, you are so young to be going through this and I urge you to find some support through friends and/or family to help you with this struggle. Take care of yourself. Good luck.

lipstix64 replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I cant tell you how helpful that info was for me. I feel like I cant get any correct info about this. I was baned on Oct 16th, havent been filled yet. You have answered my questionsa bout the fill, but cna you answer this on? Whe I get filled and it acutally kicks in, am I going to feel full on less food or am I gonna feel like I have indigestion and have pain? I would rather get full quickly. Please xplain this restriction or fullness that I can expect. Thanks for your help. -
Any October Bandsters!??!?!
lipstix64 replied to SoCalCass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You only had a little over 70 lbs t lose? How lucky you are- youre not far from your goal. Keep in mind that the heavier you are, the faster you will lose in the beginning. I was 258 the day of surgery on Oct 16 and have lost 14 lbs since then, but that because i'm a lot heavier than you. Be glad you only have 65 lbs to go. I have about 100. Youre doin great-dont worry! -

Holy Protein Cow! Cottage Cheese!
lipstix64 replied to sistasassy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cottage cheese is good if you mix it with tuna instead of mayonaise. If you dont like the curds, you can get the smooth kind or put in a blender to smooth. Also, Hummus and imitation crabmeat has loads of protein. Check it out. -
can't keep anything down, even liquids
lipstix64 replied to newyorker33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can I ask why you gained weight? Is it because your band was unfilled or is it because you ate more? That woule be scary to think that just unfilling your band would make you gain weight. -
How long till you were back to work?
lipstix64 replied to AllysPC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At least one week is suggested. Thats what I took. Dont push it. My doc said if the work you do is physical, u should take two weeks. -
I have a cup of coffee with half & half everyday w/splenda.
-
wow- I only had to be on liquids for 2 days- thats crazy!!

No, you are not the only one. I'm having strange dreams myself. Maybe its coincidental.

Expanding on "mushy" foods
lipstix64 replied to Lonestar925's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess all docs are different- my doctor also has me on shakes only for two weeks and the one week of soft protein, then from there the food gets a little better. The point is that you can only tolerate thin liquids at this point and you might stretch out the and if you try any else or you might throw up. Ask your doctor. -
Not getting any restriction......
lipstix64 replied to Mom Of Twins's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMG- how the heck did u lose 111 lbs that quickly? Is that healthy? Dont get me wrong-I would love to lose that quickly because I would have met my goal, but how is your skin elasticity now and did u lose any hair? Also, do you feel full after a liitle bit of food or restricted? Whats the difference? I'd rather feel full. Please let me know your secret! -
Level with me re: surgical bandage removal
lipstix64 replied to tomatogirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did your outer bandages come off yet? The should come off after 2-3 days. If you are talking about the steri-strips which are clear, you are suppsed to let them fall off themselves. Mine were almost off just as I was coming on 2 weeks post-op, which was this past wednesday. Dont take those off unless a doctore told you to. Those are the bandages that keep your incisions closed. -
Banded 10-21 - Can't figure this site out
lipstix64 replied to Vangirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
All you have to do is click on any one of those tickers and it will bring you to the website. -
OMG! I felt the same exact way wondering if this is awaste of time and money that insurance wont cover. I just got banded on Oct 16 and I dont feel restricted, sometimes chewed too fast, swallowed too much at one time and then I might feel like theres somethng stuck, but I'm trying to stick to the diet. I'm doing ok and have 4 weeks before my first fill. Lets cross out fingers. Everyone is doing so well wit the band, so I'm trying not to get discouraged.

Need Help Getting Ready
lipstix64 replied to Lisa1012's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The shakes recommended by my doctor are Isopure perfect low carb and it comes in vanilla and chocolate, and other fruit flavors. I like van and choc. You can get these on Vitaminshoppe.com for 35.99 each. Elsewhere is much more expensive. I was sent home from the hospital with about 20 of the little 1 oz plastic containers to measure out my shakes. Brin chapstick to hospital because your lips will be dry and also bring a pillow for the ride home. The seatbelt will bother you. Everything will be fine. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago. I lost 12 lbs and feel almost back to normal. The place where my port is sore because its in a spot where I bend, but its healing. You will be fine. Good luck! -
Two Weeks Post-Op..................
lipstix64 replied to jendenni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on oct 16th too and felt the exact same way in my oirt area. Doctor put it in a spot where my waistband is and I felt very irritated in that spot-went to doctor yesterday for 2 week followup and he said it is normal.. I can resume exercise, like walking, weights as long as they are not over 10 lbs. Today I can start having one meal of protein. I'm so excited to be ating real food now. I lost 12 lbs so far. Good luck to you. -
Tina- Take a deep breath and breathe!! First, you need counseling by yourself and then you can try to repair this, if you want. Believe me, there is no excuse, but think about things for a while before you do anything. I know the anger, betrayal and mistrust you feel. Its normal. Now, Im not saying you should stay with a chronic cheater who had many girlfriends and sex partners, but you need to find out if this is the only one and find out the reason and go from there. You will survive this, believe me.

Banded Oct 16th-New York In the house!!!
lipstix64 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Everyone. I got banded on Ictober 16th and its amazing how many different diets we all need to be on before and after surgery. I had to lose 5% of my bod weight before surgery, had to follow low fat, low carb, high protein and vegetable diet at least 2 weeks prior to surgery, had to follow full liquid diet, including dairy liquids for 2 days prior to surgery, and then had to follow clear liquiid diet for 1 day prior. I came home same day, and now for two weeks must follow full liquid diet. I can finally have one meal of soft protein starting Thursday. But, can anyone tell me if once you eat regular food, are you feeling full or just restricted? I want to feel full after eating a little bit. I dont want to feel sick or in pain. What is the difference between these? Please someone tell me??? -
If you read the post, you would see that 2 of these women were using the surgery to get out of sexual relations. I dont need to lighten up. You need to read carefully before you respond with inaccurate information and attacks.

You too? Why are you women trying to avoid sex? Do you have a selfish partner? Is he mean to you? Does he put you down? Does it lovemaking skills leave something to be desired? Whats the problem? Please dont clump all women in this category of always avoiding sex. I, as well as all of my friends LOVE sex!! We never avoid it unless we are tired or not feeling well. Maybe once you lose some weight and gain some sel-esteem, you will feel differently. Good Luck.
