  1. Hi everyone! I am glad I found this site. I have a date of 10/29 for surgery and I have been doing the lousy liquid diet since 10/15. Not easy is it? I weighed in at a whopping 275 lbs. on Wednesday and am 5'2". I have a long road ahead of me and am glad I found others to talk to. Please tell me this will work for anyone who is post op a few months or more. Are you satisfied when you eat? Have you had good success so far? :tongue_smilie:-Mona
  2. I have not been good since before Christmas and have not lost anything for weeks! My family is leaving today and tomorrow I will get back on track. I can eat too much and may call about another fill before my scheduled one. I am disappointed I have not even been trying, but at least I did not gain. That is pretty amazing in itself!:tt2:
  3. I haven't been to this site for weeks. I am glad I did today. I was banded on 10/29 and have been eating solid food since two weeks after surgery. I've lost about 28 lbs. total, but the last few weeks, nothing...I too feel i have no restriction and can eat like I did before the two week liquid diet prior to surgery. I was getting so depressed over it, but then i started reading my books and.after visiting here realize i am not alone. Thank goodnness! My first fill is on 12/10 and I cannot wait. I want this to work for me. I still have 120 lbs. to go before hitting goal weight. Now with Christmas upon us, it is even harder. I hope the fill does it for me. I want to feel full quickly and have it last for hours and hours like right after surgery. Please keep me in the loop with you bandsters who have had this problem before your first fill. -Monica:thumbup:
  4. Hey Cheryl, I am 56 also. September 11 was my b-day. I was banded on 10/29. Doing well. Happy I can have "soft foods" now. I plan to spend the winter months on a new me! Exercising, watching my calories and focusing on bein 130 in a year. I live in NC. You?
  5. I started eating some stuff 5 days after surgery, like a couple of crackers and a little cheese, cream soups with a cracker or two and today had some pintos and cheese. just a side order. dinner was some mushroom soup and a 2" slice of a sub. I ate very slowly and chewed well. no troubles. at least I got to chew something. down 23 lbs. since 10/15. i also had an omelet last night with egg beaters and some mushrooms. You might want to add little amountss and see how you do. I get my fiirst fill on 12/10. :-) How do you add a ticker to your stuff? Mona
  6. Hi all, I had my lap-band put in yesterday afternoon. Got to come home the same day. Pretty sore, but not near as bad as my gallbladder surgery lapriscopically 9 years ago. I could even lay on my side last night! Today just liquids, but not clear. I didn't like that either. I had two Ensure drinks today and one Slim Fast besides some ice water. I am doing well! Thanks to you that sent the well-wishes the night before surgery. Please let me know how you are doing if you had the 29th for your date also. all the Best! -Mona:thumbup:

    Liquid Diet Suggestions

Boy am I with you! I am on day 5 and ready to kill someone also. My husband has gotten out the whip and the chair to keep me at bay. I don't sleep well and am just miserable. My Dr. office said I can have anything I can sip through a straw. I do protein shakes and coffee, etc. I ahve to get in 70 grams of protein, 60-80 grams of carbs and between 800 and 1000 calories daily. The protein will keep your hair from falling out. Make sure you get that much in...maybe it will help your hunger. This is not easy is it? I think I could suck a cheeseburger through a straw at this point. My surgery is October 29th.

    Liver Shrink Diet

Wow, your pre-op liquid diet has FOOD in it. Mine does not...just protein shakes and puddings and jellos. It is driving me nuts. I really want just a couple of scrambled eggs. Maybe I will call and ask tomorrow about that. This is very difficult.

    OCT 29th anyone?

Hi! I have my surgery on the 29th at noon. I am so excited and just pray that it is a success. I am tired of being too fat to cross my legs! Do you know where I can view the two week liquid diet? I am on it, but just winging it. -Mona
  11. Lisa, I'm Mona and have a surgery date of 10/29. I am excited and nervous and I am hating the liquid diet. I am in Day 5 and am hungry and cannot sleep well. You have inspired me though with your weight loss and positive attitude. What have you been eating since surgery? -Mona
  12. I know, and am glad someone else is having a grat time with that liquid diet. Two weeks is a long time, but my surgeon says it is to shrink your liver to make surgery safer. I am having a hard time sleeping also. Takes me forever to get to sleep even if I take something. Anyone having trouble with naps or falling asleep? At 5'2" and now 271 (dropped some pounds over the last few days on the liquid diet), I cannot wait to get the band, but I am nervous. I desperately want to be a normal weight...not skinny, but maybe a size 10. That is a lot different than the 26/28 I am now. I carry my fat around my middle too...makes it hard to breathe when trying to walk. I hope to get past that relatively quickly. -Mona

    OCT 29th anyone?

Hi! I am also scheduled for my surgery on the 29th. I am sure you are on your liquid diet as I am and I am hating it. I realiize it is important to shrink my liver for a safe surgery, but I seem to always be hungry. Are you? I am anxious and excited. I live in Charlotte, NC. My surgery is scheduled for noon that day. I hope I get to come home the same day. Tell me about yourself. -Mona:smile2:
