Got Fill #2 today-doctor still a crackhead
Angie C replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Losing 6 to 8lbs a month is a very healthy weight loss with the band. It's not bypass surgery and you should be consuming around 1200 calories aday. The band is a much slower process. (Some of these doctors I am reading about are nuts, it makes me glad that I made a good decision with my doctor) -
1cc in a 10cc band is nothing. You still do not have really any restriction. You will probably need several more fills for the hunger to stop. A 10cc band is pretty large. I have a 4 cc band and my first fill was 1.5ccs. By the way why are you eating bread????

"sip" a little water and see if that helps. It may help the food go on through. 4-15-04 -110lbs

Your doc needs some more education in the band department. The band getting looser as the day goes is normal. My doctor even says that is so. 4-15-04 -110lbs

You may need to call your doctor for this one.

Living With My First Fill...Not What I Expected
Angie C replied to stinaNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You do not need to starve until you get your first fill. Eat!! But eat smart. It took me 5 fills (3.5ccs) until that hunger feeling went away. Do not be afraid to eat. One fill helps with some and others need several(like me) But most of all do not be "AFRAID", this is a great journey to be on. -
I told only my husband and mother, not my kids or any of my friends. I wanted to make sure that the band worked and after six months when the weight loss really began to show, I finally told my kids and after 80lbs and people began to notice(how sad is that)I began to tell whoever wanted to know because I was so proud of myself by that time, what other people thought did not matter,. I knew that I would never be fat again and (hehe) they probably would. Angie 4-15-04 290/180 goal

there is a doctor in Grand Prairie who does fills for patients banded in Mexico, but I can not remember his name but if you went to dfw bandsters (yahoo search)look in their archives or e-mail Charlie from this site, he could give you the names of doctors who can help.

I started at a 22W and XXL mens shirts. My goal was size 12 but I am in a 10 now and medium womens shirts. Angie C -110lbs

Why worry what others think? It's for your health and well-being. And when they see you nice and skinny, they may think different, especially if they are overweight themselves. I have people in my small town asking me how I lost my weight and I am very proud to tell them about the band and that I will never be fat again while they are still struggling with diet and exercise. (sweet revenge)

My doctor said do not lift anything over 20lbs for 6 weeks because of the healing process so take it careful for alittle longer. Even after 6 weeks I still had some burning sensation around the port. Nothing to really fret over unless it contines. You could pop a stitch by lifting too much or too soon. Angie C. 4-15-04 -110lbs

Sin, yes Sir I broke the rules.

Vegaswildflower Do not beat yourself up. What has helped me lose my weight was to get the diet mentality out of my mind. My doctor told me before I had the surgery that I would never have to diet again, so I ate what I could when I wanted, I just ate much less. I see you have lost 21lbs in about 3 weeks which is excellent. So don't stressssss over it, your doing very good. Angie C 4-15-04 -110lbs -
Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
Angie C replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi my name is Angie C. I was banded 4-15-04 and I have lost 110lbs and have reached my goal. So it is possible to lose more than 100lbs with the band. -
It may take several fills before not having that hungry feeling any longer. I had 4 or 5 fills in an 8 month period until it finally stopped and the weight began to really come off. I have a 4cc band but until I had 3.5ccs in my band I continued to have the hunger pains. Some do fine at 2 ccs others more or less. You think you do not know where your "sweet spot" is but when you have enough in your band and the weight comes off I think then you will really be happy. This is a slow process but keep up your spirits and the weight should come off. Angie C

Try eating some mash potatoes or oatmeal. My doctor put me on soft foods after 2 weeks and I had my first fill after 5 weeks. It may take several fills before the hunger really goes away and yes your stomach will growl alot even if your not hungery. Angie 3-15-04 -110lbs goal
