Great i'm loking forward to tring some tuna salad i just have a few more days to stay on mushies and liquids. Are you still sore and having pain in the port area? Every time i eat any thing i feel like i have air in my stomach and i'm burping real loud or maybe it is my bodys way of saying i'm full?

Julie.ann are you still on liquids or have you started mushies as well.

I have lost 13.5 lbs and am doing good .my dr still has me on pre-op diet i will be glad to add some tuna or mashed potatoes maybe next week .but it sounds like you all are doing well keep up the good work. I'm sure hoping that i will be able to eat thanksgiving dinner with my family any some of my mom's potatoe salad mum mum good. I hope by then the cut on my tongue from surgery is all healed it hurts pretty bad and it is hard to eat right now and talk too because of it still being swollen.

Hi everyone i'm being to feel alot better today.the big bad wolf (air in my tummy) finally started moving in the middle of the night and i blow the house down so i feel beeter .as far as the constipation i had to take so milk of mag in order to get mine to move on out.i still on liquids only for one more week i hope i think i'm ready for soft"s but will ask my dr tomorrow.

Hey!! I was banded on 10-29 and still a little sore.but i had to due the two weeks of liquid before surgery and it is real hard butt you can do this just take it one day at a time. And always remember the goal you are tring to reach good luck to you and keep us posted

Hey all !!! I glad to see everyone is doing good. I also am having problems getting the protien down.and have some really bad gas it feels like i have so much air in there if i was ever to burp or toot i would blow the house down (hahaha). Is everyone still on liquids for another week i'm so tired of broth if anyone has new recipes please share.

I was also banded on 10-29-2008 and i have been unable to get all the protien in that is required each day. I think mine is due to me biting my tongue durning surgery it has been so swollen that it is hard to drink and also talk. I hope you get to feeling better real soon

Hi all!!! I am from denison,tx and was banded on 10-29-2008 . I'm still on liquids for two more weeks.i'm also 5"3' and weigh 229lbs i'm down 10lbs from the fourteen day liquid pre-op. I'm looking for a buddy to share our progress and trade recipes.

Hey everyone!!!! This is the first day i have felt up to letting you all know that i'm doing ok, i'm very sore and have had a quite a bitt of pain. The really worse for me is that some how durning surgery i bite my tongue completely threw and it is so swollen and sore that i can hardly talk (good for dh)haha and it feels like i have a mouth full of cotton all the time can't wait for it to be better. I'm still on clear liquids for two more weeks but have not been hungry i half to force my self to drink, very hard due to the tongue. As far as constipation my dr said to use miralax or milk of magnesia not no fiber laxatives! And for gas or bloating to use gas-x chewables i'm going shopping tomorrow and will put these in my medicine cabinet. My return visit to dr is tues and i hope back to work on wed's. Good luck to all i pray that everyone is doing good and we will all be healthier for doing this.i will check in again tomorrow

Quilting bee!!! Thank you for the encouragement i'm looking forward to a new life . Do you feel like you have missed anything? Are you still eating what you want just smaller portion ? That is what i'm hoping for without a lot of junk food of course. I have been on liquids for 12 days now and it has gotten easier as the days go bye at first i was starving but have made it without cheating. i will have surgery on 10-29 at 7:30am and let you know how i'm doing.

Hey jm!! I'm doing real well today this is day 12 of liquids and it has gotten easier as the days go bye. I'm glad to here that you are doing good after being banded on 10-24 with no complications. Are you able to get all of that protien down with no problems? I have surgery wed's at 7:30 am i will let you know how it goes. Good luck to you and keep up the good work

Hey everyone i agree with it being the first day of a new life. My surgery is scheduled for 07:30 am have to be at hospital at 5:30 am on 10-29. This is day eleven on liqiuds for me my dr requires fourteen days. The first few i thought i was starving to death but as time goes by it has gotten easier. Im looking forward to a healther life but i'm scared too. Good luck to everyone and please keep us posted.

Hey all!!! This is day eight of liquids for me and it has not been easy i probably could suck a cheeseburger threw a straw if it was in front of me (haha). I'm scheduled for 10/29 so only six days to go. I'm realy excited but a little scared too. I have realized that if i eat something every two to three hours its not so bad. But i still wish i could have real food. I't will be here real soon an on to a healther life for all of us. Good luck to all.

Hey all i'm from denison and going to have surgery on 10-29-2008 i'm on day eight of liquids which is really hard. I would love to have bandster buddy to help me get threw this i'm excited and scared at the same time. Thanks for all the advice you can give.

hey jmignott I'm sure why your doctor does not require a liquid diet. My doctor said it is to shrink the liver for surgury.this is not an easy thing being on liquids for 14 days so be thankful you are not having to do it.

Hi! This is my fouth day of liquids and i cook stew for my family and ate the broth from that. I hope that was ok. My surgery is set for 10-29 just 10 more days to go . I wish everyone good luck and success on all the weight you want to loss.

I'M ON LIQUIDS NOW AN NOT SURE THAT I GOT THE RIGHT PROTIEN POWDER. I HAVE ADVANCED WHEY PROTIEN 52G FROM WAL-MART. AND I NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY SHAKES A DAY I'M SUPPOSE TO HAVE? :thumbup: MY BAND DATE IS 10-29 AND I'M EXCITED TO GET STARTED. :smile2:

Hey everyone i'm also the 29th and have started the liquid diet. I go in on the 24th for per-op just hope the time goes bye real fast. Has anyone experience the head aches from not eating nothing solid? If so what are you doing for it tylenol is not working?
