I can totally relate! I'm getting banded on the 22nd but I have two finals to get through between now and then I'm glad that things are going well for you, hope it stays that way! Good luck on your finals and your surgery! Keep me posted! Cali:thumbup:

Hi everybody, My name is Cali and I'm from Kansas. I'm 23/f and am a full time nursing student. I had my consult today and my surgery is set for December 22nd :thumbdown: I am extremely excited but scared about all the changes. Like I am sure some of you, I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. Because I dont have diabetes or hypertension my insurance wont pay for the surgery, BUT I finally have the money to pay for it I love meeting new people and would really like to talk to any of you about life, the procedure and just about anything else so hit me up already! Hey all, My name is Cali, I'm 23 yrs old, my surgery date is 12/22/08, my current weight is 288lbs, I live in Kansas but will be banded in Denver Colorado with the amazing Dr. Brown. I can't wait to start my new life!!! I look forward to meeting all of you!

Wow! Two weeks is intense! The only "diet" my surgeon gave me is 72 hours of Clear liquids right before surgery. I have noticed there is a huge variance of pre op diets, I guess its surgeon preference. My shakes are going... I do so much better during the week but when I hit the weekend its ugly I hope everything comes through insurance for you! Good luck!

Thats awesome! Where are you getting your surgery? Right now I am working up to getting in 2 shakes a day. I did that a couple days this week and did pretty well. Just praying that I can stick to it! You've done wonderful! Congrats on the weight you have lost so far! Good luck!!!:drool:

Auggies, I am glad that I'm not the only one! I think you're right when you say that there is part of us afraid to let the "old" us go. I keep telling myself that i'm not going to "lose" who I am, just the unhealthy eating habits and the excess weight. I'm still going to be the same person just healthier :-) After I read Pete's story and some other ones I got my motivation back. I started having a shake for breakfast and am cutting out all fast food. Just praying for self-control. I CAN DO THIS! Thanks for sharing! I really appreciate it! Good luck

Its awesome to hear your story and know that even though you have had problems and still slip up from time to time you are succeeding! Its such a motivation for me to get back on track.
