I know how you feel. I was banded 10/08 (15mths) ago and have only lost 25pds. I've been tight loose, tight, etc. Now I vomit quiet often and am having horrible smelly belching. I haven't been back to the MD since June. My insurance doesn't cover anything, and I had to take out a loan for my first surgery. Have no idea what to do. I feel like I've wasted 17,000!

Please help! What is a Sulfur burp? I've been having these horrible smelly burps lately.

Do you burp more now that you are banded? (non-productive, just air)

did they charge you all over again for another surgery? -
how does a lap band slip?
kellypup replied to lynmcg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
there are a couple of different ways. You band is sutured to one side, but it can slip down if a couple of things happen. Also some of you stomach will move up, making your pouch bigger. I've had 2 slips so far and they're not fun. I go back today to see if my pouch is back to regular size and if my band has slipped back up. -

I went back for my 2nd check up. I should have sad something on my first check up. I had been PB'inf all the time, but didn't think anything of it. Yesterday when I told the PA Kelli (she's wonderful!), she xrayed me and told me I was way too tight. She took out 2cc, so no have 1.8cc. My band had moved too! She told me whenevr you PB, you puoch swells, and you should do liquids for 2 days to heal it. I go back next Friday to see if it's moved back up.

Vote for your favorite protein drink!
kellypup replied to photo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Eat2live, I agree. I can't stand the pre made drinks. I like to make them with either chocolate Hood milk or just Fat Free milk. -
Donna , you're right. I just went for a follow up yesterday and found out i was swollen and my band a slipped a little!!! My PA told me once you PB, your pouch swells and you should do liquids for 2 days then soft for 2 days. My PA said I was way too full and took out 2cc since I was at 3.8. I go back next Friday to see if the band has gone back to the correct position. Oh what is the 5 day pouch test?

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
kellypup replied to SoCalCass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel! I've lost almost 20pds since my surgery 10/24/08. My first fill was around Dec.5th. It got3.8. I didn't know at the time, but that was too full. I PB' quite often and yesterday at my 2nd visit I told my PA what was happening. She gave me a Barium Swallow and it was barely gong through my band, plus she could tell I was swollen and some of my stomach had come up!!! I freaked out. She took all the 3.8 out and then added just 1.8 so I can readjust since my band had moved. I think this is everyone's fear! I go back next Friday to see if my band has gone back in place. Wish me luck! I'm suppose to be on liquids for the next week, ugh!!! -
Me too! Do you ever find yourself dehydrated? I usually can't eat more than 1/4- 1/2 @ a time, and the past fews days I haven't felt well, so I really haven't eaten allot. I don't do well with Pasta or bread of course.
-
I do this quite often. I was filled 12/5 and haven't had to have another one yet. I think dr.'s are different. My Dr filled me to 3.2mm the first time, but I've seen where some only get 1? Anyways, PB isn't fun, but it happens, it's alot better than actually vomitting! It is just like spitting up, kinda like when you need to burp and a little comes up. Sounds grose, but it happens, lol
-
:blink:Ok I have a question. I got my first fill Dec. 5th or so. I haven't needed another one since. I think my fill was 3.2mm? Since then I haven't been able to eat more than 1/4- 1/2 cup. Think this is normal? I haven't lost a ton of weight, maybe 18pds since then, but I think I stay dehydrated all the time and I'm sure that's slowng my progress. Anyone else gone through this?

wow how embarrassing on my spelling! LOL

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
kellypup replied to SoCalCass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow I glad everyone is doing well! I actually gained weight since surgery. All that I had lost on the pre-op diet. So I just got my first fill Friday. It felt so weird! I saw the barium going down on the screen, lol. My PA even gave me a picture of it. He fill me w/ 3.7mm. Now I'm on days 3, which should be pureed foods. I had a had time this morning with some eggs, it was stuck for a while. I haven't even been hungry for the past 2 days! I go back in 2 weeks for a check up and to see if I need another fill. Anyone else having a hadr time losing? I know I gained alot back after surgery because I healed so quickly and had no restriction for about 4 weeks. -
I know how I feel when things get "stuck". It does fill like it's in my back, but yea, 5 hours later? It might be that you laid down too soon after eating, but def. call you dr. Let us know!
