I don't see Dr. Ahuja. I go to Dr. Minkin in St. Louis. I was under the assumption that when Dr. Ahuja joined the program he would be taking patients from doctors in St. Louis. You will need to call his office. I don't see a problem with you transferring. I transferred to St. Louis when Dr. Argotte left. You don't need to be a patient of his to come to the support meetings. You can contact Heather at the hospital for those.

  5. Has anyone had or heard of having a kinked tube? My doctor thinks I might have one. During my last fill, he was able to put liquid in, but not take any out. He said this could become a problem. I figure if the tube is kinked it will have to be replaced. Has anyone had tubing replaced? If so, how was recovery and hospital stay? Thanks, Deb
  6. My doctor says a week isn't long enough to shrink the liver. He has his patients on a 30-day liver shrinkage diet, but it's not liquids. His is "no bags, boxes, or cans", basically nothing processed. Everything you eat must be fresh and you can't add salt. His main goal is to lower sodium which will make the liver let go of a lot of Water and thereby shrink it. You will definitely loose weight on this too. Deb

    Anyone else from Southern Il?

Hello, I am using Dr. Argotte as well. He is actually going to be working out of Herrin Hospital. I can't wait until he gets moved, because it will be easier for me to take off work, becuase of the much shorter drive. I live in Sesser so by the time my appt is over it takes me almost two hours to get home. Yes he does come highly recommended. The only complaints I've seen are due to his large number of pre-op tests he requires. This to me is not a negative since I want him to be as safe as possible. I ended up taking two vacation days and had tests galore done. I was glad I could have my tests done in Herrin even though he was there yet. How far along in the journey are you? Have you had many of your tests yet? Deb

    Anyone else from Southern Il?

Hello, I'm from Southern Illinois. I rarely come to this section, because everyone seems to be from up north. I am in my third month of 6 month pcp surpervised diet. I have had most of my tests and am scheduled for my endo later this month. How are things going for you? Who is your doctor? Deb
